"Unlike you two, Kiyoshi and I have to eat." Jade whined; they hadn't had anything to eat in two days and she was hungry.
"I know this." Sesshomaru sighed.
"Sorry my human-ness is such a pain." Jade snapped.
"Would you watch you tongue sometimes!" Sesshomaru snapped back.
"You are like three seconds away from being stabbed, and it's only been a week!" Jade said; closing her eyes in frustration.
"Could say the same thing." Sesshomaru muttered under his breath.
"What was that?" Jade snapped.
"Nothing." he snapped back.
"Watch yourself, fluffy. Hunger makes humans very mean." Jade said; narrowing her eyes at him.
"When I first met you guys, I thought you two got along." Kiyoshi said from behind Hychi.
"I did too,so don't feel bad, kid." Hychi said; fear was on both of their faces.
"I'm going to find something to eat." Jade said; fighting her way into the woods through a bush.
"Hychi, go with her." Sesshomaru sighed.
"Stay where you're at Hychi." Jade said; shooting an arrow at his feet.
"Did I do something wrong?" Hychi asked; frozen in fear.
"Nope. I just want to be alone." Jade yelled; she was already a good distance away.
"You stay with the kid then." Sesshomaru said as he pushed into the dense woods.
"What part of alone don't you get?" Jade asked when he caught up with her.
"I don't take orders from you. Unlike Hychi, I am not afraid of you." Sesshomaru replied.
"Let's just hurry up and find food." Jade said as calmly as she could possibly manage. Nether of them said anything after that, until Jade threw a berry in her mouth.
"Those are poisoness." Sesshomaru sighed.
"Next time a little warning would be nice!" Jade snapped after she spit it out.
"I thought you could tell what was poisoness and not. Haven't you been learning from Kaede?" Sesshomaru asked.
"All she's taught me so far are healing herbs." Jade said; crossing her arms as she continued walking.
"Why are you so mad today?" Sesshomaru asked.
"I'm hungry." Jade shrugged.
"You've gone longer without eating." he countered.
"Does it matter why?" Jade snapped; she wasn't paying any attention to where she was walking anymore.
"AH! SESSHOMARU!!" she screamed as she stepped through trees, and off a cliff.
"Are you happy I came along, now?" Sesshomaru smirked; holding her to his chest as he flew back up to solid ground.
"Maybe just a little." she mumbled; her whole body shaking.
"Come on. If you can wait, there should be a village in the direction we're going." Sesshomaru said.
"Okay." Jade said; stumbling over things as she followed him.
"What's wrong! I heard you scream!" Hychi exclaimed; running towards them with Kiyoshi on his back.
"I'm just clumsy." Jade said; forcing a smile and laugh.
"I'm glad you're okay." Hychi said; returing the smile.
"Me too." Kiyoshi said; he was too busy clinging to Hychi's back to smile.
"Yeah." Jade mumbled.
"Let's go." Sesshomaru said as he continued to walk.
"Hychi!" an old woman greeted as we walked into a tea house.
"Huh? Oh Grandma Finka!" Hychi exclaimed when he realized who was standing in front of us.
"You haven't been in for a while! I thought you had hurt yourself with all that dangerous training you use to do!" the old woman exclaimed; smacking Hychi on the head with a wooden spoon.
"I'm sorry, Grandma Finka." he said; smiling at her. It was hard not to smile at her. She was grey haired, and stood at about Jade's shoulder, but her presence took up the whole room. There was something about her that Jade liked.
Maybe it's because she hit Hychi with a spoon? Jade thought to herself; unable to hold in her laughter when she noticed Sesshomaru's lip twitch.
"Who are you?" Gandma Finka asked; her eyes landing on Jade.
"I'm Jade, this is Kiyoshi, and this is Sesshomaru." Jade said; introducing everyone.
"What was that for?" Sesshomaru asked; glaring at the old lade when she hit him with the spoon.
"You have wandering eyes. This girl deserves you respect!" the old lady snapped; smacking him again.
"Stay boy!" Jade yelled; clenching her fist when he went to strike the woman.
"What is wrong with you!" Jade yelled when he stopped moving.
"Hmph." was his only reply.
"Listen here, you're going to behave or I'm going to make your life a living hell." Jade said; pulling on his ear so she could talk into it.
"Hmph." he snorted as he turned his head away from her.
"Fine then. Sit." Jade said; turning her back on him and crossing her arms. It wasn't like Kagome's command, but Sesshomaru couldn't help but sit down on the floor. "Now stay."
"Are you going to leave him like that?" Kiyoshi asked as they took their seats.
"For a little while." Jade shrugged.
"What can I get you guys?" Grandma Finka asked; bringing four cups of tea.
"I'll take some rice balls." Jade said; sighing as she picked up the fourth cup, and headed over to Sesshomaru.
"Here." she said; holding the cup out to him.
"Your kindness is waisted. I don't eat your food, or drink your drinks." the words were extremely close to the first things he ever said to Rin.
"Come." Jade said; walking towards the tea house door.
"What?" he asked when they were outside.
"You can't just attack humans whenever you please!" Jade yelled.
"I can do whatever I please. I do not take orders from humans." Sesshomaru said; narrowing his eyes at her.
"Dammit, Sesshomaru!" Jade yelled; snapping at punching him in the jaw. "You can't do whatever you feel like doing! You just can't! I don't know what you're use to, but as long as I'm around you won't be laying a single hand on a human, unless they attack you! And even then you can't just kill them! Kami! Why is that so hard for you to understand!"
"Are you done?" Sesshomaru asked when she wasn't screaming anymore.
"No! I'm not done!" Jade yelled; it took a few tried, but she managed to kick him in the ribs. "Now I'm done!"
Jade spun on her heel, and was gone in seconds. Sesshomaru watched as she walked away, but it was obvious what would happen if she followed him.
"She's scary." Hychi said to Kiyoshi as the watched from the doorway.
"I- I'm n-never going to make h-her mad." Kiyoshi stuttered; shock and fear mixed in his features.
"It would be smart." Gandma Finka laughed, "I quite like her."
"Not in the mood." Jade snapped as a demon stepped into her path.
"Huh? What? No! I'm not trying to hurt you! Really!" the demon exclaimed; his eyes getting big.
"Then what do you want?" Jade asked.
"Here." he said; holidng out a flower to her.
"What's this?" Jade asked; narrowing her eyes.
"I live in that village back there, and I saw you fighting with that other demon. I wanted to cheer you up." he smiled.
"What's your name?" Jade asked; taking the flower.
"Ryuji." he said; smiling when she accepted the flower.
"What kind of demon are you?" she said; making small talk as they walked.
"I'm half dragon demon." he replied.
"I thought because of how strong your aurora that you were a full demon." Jade said; slightly surprised. He looked human, but his demonic aurora competed with Sesshomaru's.
"No. Just a half-demon. It's why I'm aloud to live in the village. I protect it." Ryuji smiled.
"I see." Jade nodded.
"Grandma Finka allows me to stay with her. She's the nicest person I've ever met!" Ryuji said; Jade couldn't help but smile at how he spoke of her.
"She seems nice." Jade laughed.
"Are you guys going to be staying in the village for the night?" he asked.
"I don't know." Jade sighed.
"Hey," Ryuji said; catching her attention.
"What is it?" Jade asked.
"He may be one of the pretty ones, but if he isn't treating you right, then you shouldn't stay with him." Jade couldn't help but stop walking.
"What?" Jade asked; the word coming out slow, and unsure.
"You're with him aren't you?" he asked.
"Huh?! No!" Jade exclaimed; a blush covering her face.
"Really? You two seemed to be together." Ryuji said; tilting his head to the side.
"No, we're not together." Jade said; composing herself.
"My mistake." he said; smiling at her.
"You're not the first one." Jade laughed.
"There's just something about the way you two look at each other. I just reads like two people who are together." Ryuji shrugged.
"Noted." Jade mumbled.
"You also smell like him." Ryuji said; his smile never leaving his face.
"I travel with him." Jade shrugged.
"No. That's really all you smell like. Your scent is covered by his." he corrected.
"I use his robe as a blanket at night. I gave mine to the other human that travels with us." Jade replied.
"That's probably it." Ryuji nodded.
"I really hope you know how to get back."Jade sighed; she hadn't realized how far off the path they had wandered.
"Yeah, I know that way." Ryuji laughed.
"Good. I'm completely hopeless when it comes to finding my way around." Jade laughed as they turned around.
"Hey sweetheart." a random guy said as she walked toward the tea house. Ryuji and her had parted ways a while back.
"Don't call me sweetheart." Jade sighed.
"Come on. Don't be like that, sweetheart." his words were slurred, and she could smell the alcohol on him.
"No." Jade snapped as he grabbed at her wrist.
"Hold still, wench!" he yelled; slapping her across the face.
Jade gasped in shock, but she didn't have time to react before he had her up against a wall with her hands behind her back.
"Get off me." Jade growled.
"I sugggest you move." Sesshomaru said; suddenly standing beside them.
"Who're you?" the man's words were a jumbled mess.
"I said leave." Sesshomar said; Jade was surprised to see him actually using restraint.
"I really don't care if you hit this one. Just not hard enough to kill him." Jade said; she had barely gotten the words out before Sesshomaru back handed him.
"I guess that's better than I was expecting." Jade sighed as the an hit the ground a few feet away from them, "Hey! Where are you going!" Jade called after Sesshomaru as he walked away.
"To get the others. We're leaving." Sesshomaru replied without stopping.
"It going to be dark soon. Can't we stay in this village tonight?" Jade asked; finally catching up with him.
"Do you want to?" he asked.
"Yeah. I kinda want a bath." Jade replied.
"Fine." Sesshomaru nodded.
"Really? That easy?" Jade asked; narrowing her eyes at him, "Are you sick?"
"I'm fine." Sesshomaru replied; tensing as she felt his forehead.
"Relax. I'm not planning on hitting you again." Jade laughed.
"Hm." he nodded.
"Sorry." Jade sighed.
"For what?" he asked.
"Hitting you, and yelling at you." Jade mumbled; looking at him when he didn't say anything.
"Ah!" Jade squealed when a cup broke by her head as they walked into the tea house.
"Move! Quickly!" Hychi said; puhsing them outside.
"What's going on in there?" Jade exclaimed.
"Kiyoshi will explain later! Right now we should get out of the village." Hychi said; quickly shoving Kiyoshi away from the outbreak.
"Explain." Sesshomaru demanded when we were away from the village.
"Kiyoshi." Hychi said; giving him a stern look.
"I'm sorry!" Kiyoshi exclaimed.
"For what?" Jade asked.
"This staff is cursed." he sighed.
"Cursed how?" Jade narrowed her eyes.
"Everyone around it becomes angry with each other. It never fails to happen. It would explain why you and Sesshomaru keep fighting." Kiyoshi sighed.
"That's why you're taking it to Mount Wassami?" Jade asked.
"Yes. Our village had been plagued by it for many months now. I finally agreed to take it to Monk Michio so he could seal away it's evil power." Kiyoshi explained.
"I see." Jade nodded; taking it all in.
"It's called the Staff of Hate, and it's one of the Four Weapons of Destruction." Kiyoshi added.
"Four Weapons of Destruction?" Jade asked.
"Yes. The Staff of Hate, the Blade or Blood, the Stone of Life, and the Stone of Death." Kiyoshi nodded.
"Am I the only one who's never heard of this stuff?" Jade asked.
"No. I haven't either." Hychi said; just as confused as she was.
"What about you, fluffy?" Jade asked.
"I know the names, but that is all I've ever bothered to learn." Sesshomaru shrugged.
"What all do you know?" Jade asked Kiyoshi.
"I'm sorry, but that's all I know as well." Kiyoshi replied; his head shoot up as he remembered something, "Wait! I remember hearing that the Stone of Death was broken into four pieces and scattered many centuries ago."
"By who?" Hychi asked.
"The same priestess that created the Jewel of Four Souls. She did it so that no one could ever get their hands on the power that all four weapons hold." Kiyoshi explained.
"See, you knew more." Jade laughed.
"I guess I did." Kiyoshi said; rubbing the back of his head.
"If that's the case, then we shouldn't waste our time." Sesshomaru said as he started to head north again.
"Wait for us!" Jade yelled after him as they all quicky followed.
