STAR'S POV
It's a few minutes of pacing back and forth down the hall before I finally muster the courage to stand in front of Logan's bedroom door. I take a breath as I fold my fingers into a fist to knock on the door.
"This is childish, why am I scared? She's not some monster...it's not like she can kill me or tear me apart for asking" I murmur to myself "I hope" I add immediately after my sentence
I finally knock after two more minutes of giving myself a pep talk. I press my ear against the door when I hear nothing for a while and I'm about to knock again when the door opens and I stumble into the room
I quickly get a grip on myself before I meet myself face down on the floor. I clear my throat and turn around meeting puckered brows and a blank expression.
"Hi" I say with a clear of my throat
"What do you want? " she asks shutting the door and walking over to her dressing table
I'll just imagine she said hey.
"Well..."
"Well?"
"It's totally okay if you refuse and say no but I was um...wondering if you could, well if we could go out?" I ask
"Go out?" She turns to look at me and I gulp
She's a human like you, not a fucking monster, stop being so scared. I scold myself
"I mean it's been kind of boring staying home for so long" I say "Not that I'm complaining about the house or anything, I just...you know?"
To be honest, staying home had given me time to try finding a job. I'd used the time to send out my resume and fill out many job applications hoping I get one but it was getting tiring and boring really quick.
Not being the most social of butterflies, I didn't have a lot of friends to reach and go out with and I'm not trying to make new ones either ergo my staying home for two weeks straight.
It would be better if I could even have a conversation with Logan but for the past week she had not been home and had come back just some days so I had practically been living alone.
Not that, I'm not used to that.
"You want me to take you out?" she asks stepping away from the dressing table and walking towards me
"Well if it's not too..too much trouble for you" I say quietly, feeling even more nervous than I was when I entered the room at first
I just can't help but strongly feel and be enveloped in the intimidating air that just wafts around her. She looks like she can fuck up a bitch.
She doesn't say anything and just moves closer to me and subconsciously I take a step back with every one she takes forward
Is this the day I die?
"You don't have to if you don't want to. I mean...its not important, we can go some other.." I trail off as my legs hit the bed causing me to sit down "time" I complete as she reaches me and leans down till I'm laying down on the bed with her above me
"What will you do in return? " she asks a smirk suddenly appearing on her face
"In...return?" I ask
"Well yeah, shouldn't you return the favor?" she asks again her eyes not leaving mine
"I...I guess. What do you want in return?" I ask my heart beating faster than usual. I might just die out of fear and nervousness
"I don't know, maybe sex?" she says and my eyes widen
"W..what?" I ask, certain that my face had turned red
"Well yeah. You don't want to?" she raises a brow
"Um...well..." I trail off not being able to form a proper sentence
"Never mind" she says
"Huh?" For some reason my eyes are still wide with shock
"Calm down, I'm just joking. Your eyes are as wide as saucers" she says getting up and straightening her shirt
I blink a couple times before getting up quickly "Um...bye" I say quietly before rushing to the door.
"Get dressed, I'll take you somewhere " she says just before I get the chance to step out the room and I turn around a smile on my face
"Really?"
"Yeah, get ready quickly" she says
"I will, thanks" I say and go out of the room, closing the door behind me. I go over to my room and quickly get into the shower
20 minutes later and I'm in front of my closet looking for something suitable to wear. This would help more if I knew where exactly we were going but oh well, I should just be grateful she even is taking me somewhere.
Hopefully, not where I meet my death.
Okay, again, she's not a monster Star.
Trailing my fingers past 2 dresses, I study the short blue dress that hung with the rest of the dresses.
"You're so pretty" I say with a smile, letting my fingers feel it's fabric
"You done? Come out" I hear from outside with a small knock on the door
"Shit" I murmur, forgetting that I had to hurry "Yeah, just give me five minutes!" I say and hear nothing
I grab the dress quickly and put it on, having a small two minutes struggle before finally zipping it up at the back. I rush to the mirror and quickly brush my hair down before hurrying to put on my shoes and then picking up my purse before heading out the door
"I'm ready" I say as I reach downstairs and I see her eyes roam my face down to my body and back up
"You look pretty" she says and a smile pulls at my lips
"Thanks"
That means so much seeing as she's always rude or mean so I should be grateful for the small compliments I get
"Come on let's go" she says stepping outside and I nod following after her. We enter the car and soon she takes off, driving out of the compound
I bring down the mirror at the top so I can see myself before opening my purse and bringing out the small eye shadow palette I usually left in my purse
"Shit" I murmur quietly as my hand shakes as I try to apply it over my eyelid
"Can you...slow down a bit? I can't put this on properly cause I keep shaking " I say looking over at her and for the first time since we entered the car, she turns to me and back at the road
"Why are you doing that here? " she asks, sounding very uninterested in actually knowing why
"Well I didn't have time to put on any makeup back at home" I explain
"If I'm not mistaken, you said you were ready" she says looking at me briefly before turning back to the road
"Well yeah, but not completely so can you slow down?" I ask and instead of saying anything, she makes a show of speeding up
"You're not very friendly"
"Haha" she says dryly and I sigh
Oh boy.

I suddenly jerk forward and snap awake as the car comes to a stop.
"What... what's happening?" I mumble in sleepiness and surprise
"We're here" she says, turning off the car and getting down
"What? " I ask still a little shocked from the abrupt awakening.
A seemingly purposeful abrupt awakening. I am living with a monster.
"You coming or what?" she asks and I nod and get down from the car, shutting the door after me.
"Where are we at?" I ask meeting her eyes as I fix my hair quickly and brush down my dress, fixing the straps on my shoulders
"Just come in" she says and walks into the dimly lit building. I take a look at the building and see big lit up letters reading HERMIONE'S CLUB with two bottles pouring beer into a cup repeatedly at both sides of it hanging up on the wall just above the entrance.
Looking away from the colourful sign, I realise that Logan had left me behind and gone in so I quickly follow after her, entering into the club. Once I enter into the building, my heart pounds along with the loud music and for a brief moment I count my heartbeats.
Finally coming to the realization that I'm stood by the entrance, I look around for the woman I came with and finally spot her by the bar talking to some woman.
For a brief second I hesitate but finally decide to head over there. I mean she brought me here, the least she can do is not leave me the very first minute but it's Logan, I can't expect much.
Noticing me approaching, she turns to the woman and says something to her, prompting her to nod before walking away just before I arrived there.
"I hope I wasn't interrupting? You really don't have to stop what you're doing cause of me" I say, feeling like she'd sent the woman away cause of me but with the immediate chuckle that leaves her lips I realise maybe not.
"I'm not, don't worry. Want a drink? " she asks
"Yeah, I'd love one. Thanks " I say smiling
"Cool, get one. I'll be right back" she says and walks away in the direction the woman had left in
"Well thanks for asking" I mutter with a roll of my eyes before sitting on the stool and pulling out my phone
"Don't mind her attitude too much, she's just like that" I hear and look up at the bartender who was cleaning a glass "I'm a friend of Logan's" she says probably getting from my facial expression that I was wondering why she was talking to me about Logan
"Oh, she didn't say I'd be meeting any of her friends. It's good to see you" I say politely, getting a smile in return
"It's good to see you as well. How do you know her? Logan " she asks
"Well we're kind of in a house sharing situation at the moment. She's helping me out as I'm in a bit of a difficult time currently" I explain briefly and she nods
"Right right, Anna was telling me about you yesterday. I'm really sorry about your dad and the whole getting kicked out thing" she says
Ah, Logan was right after all. I did blab a lot in my drunken state.
"That's alright, I'm just really grateful to Anna as well as Logan for being such angels in this time of need" I say and she nods with a smile
"I see that. Logan didn't tell me you were this pretty though, nice too" she says, setting the glass on the counter
"Did she talk about me at all? She's not exactly the nicest" I say "No offence" I add and she laughs
"None taken. You're not wrong after all but the more you get to know her, you'll realize she's not all that terrible and she's actually a big softie"
"A big softie? Yeah, I don't know about that but I guess I'll see" I smile and she nods
"So what can I offer you? It's on me" she says
"Please don't bother, I'll pay"
"I insist. A friend of Logan is a friend of mine so let me" she says
"Ah, well I'll take whatever you want. I'm not good with drinks" I admit and she nods
"No problem, leave it to me" she says with a smile before going on to mix drinks
I'm Hermione by the way" she says pouring the drink into a glass and sliding it towards me
"Thank you" I say first, taking a small sip and she simply replies with a smile "And Hermione? Like the owner?" I ask remembering the name of the club
"Yup" she answers "I run it together with my brother but I am here more than he is" she says and I nod
"That's really cool" I say honestly and she smiles
"I'm glad you think so" she says, pouring a drink into another glass for someone sat beside me
"Do you mind if I ask a question?" I ask once I notice she's free again and she turns to me
"Not at all, what is it?"
"You and Logan, the way you talk about her makes it seem like you both are pretty close. Is that the case?" I ask first
"Oh"
"I was just wondering if you guys were more than friends, sorry if I'm being nosy"
"No you're fine. Um...Logan and I have a bit of a complicated relationship. I suppose something similar to friends with benefits but with the friendship actually being existent" she chuckles
"We've been friends for a long time now, a couple years and she's an amazing person and of course feelings are bound to ensue but Logan isn't exactly the dating type if you've noticed so I suppose this is something we settled with?"
"I see. Well you seem like a lovely person" I say honestly and she smiles
"And you do as well. So how are you enjoying sharing a home with her?" She asks, changing topics
"Its alright I guess, she's not home so much so I'm basically living alone. She wasn't around the first week so I got to be in my own company and think things through, solutions and apply for jobs and the sorts. Now that she's around, I guess I'll see how things will be" I say and she nods
"Be rest assured she won't meddle in your business so you'll get to do all you please as long as you also do not meddle in her business" she says
"Yeah, she kind of emphasized staying in my own space and away from hers during her offering me a room in the house" I say and she chuckles
"Well she's like that"
"Who is like that?" I hear and see Logan sit down beside me
"You" Hermione chuckles
"I see" Logan says, showing no interest in even knowing what we were saying that involved her "The club's a little empty today" She says picking up the glass that Hermione had just poured a drink in and taking a gulp from it
"Well yeah. It's Wednesday so there are not a lot of people" Hermione says, pouring herself her drink before gulping it down as she stared at Logan who had her eyes focused on some other woman
I hear her sigh a bit before dropping her glass to the table and pulling a smile to her face again as Logan turned to her
I guess she's not all that okay with just being friends with benefits then. But as she said, Logan wasn't one for dating and it seemed she had to just bear with her feelings.
"What are you doing after work?" Logan asks and Hermione shrugs, wiping down the counter
"Not sure, have dinner and go to bed? I'm a bit tired today" she says, briefly meeting Logan's eyes before returning them to the counter she was wiping
"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Yeah sure" Hermione smiles "Just call"
"I will" Logan smiles before turning to me "You wanted to come out, why are you just sat here doing nothing?"
"Well I haven't been doing nothing. Hermione's been keeping me company" I say and she nods
"Alright then. Call me whenever you're ready to go" she says, gulping down the rest of her drink before walking away from Hermione and I
Couldn't even stay 5 minutes for a proper conversation. Almost 2 weeks and I have no idea who she is from her own point of view and she doesn't know anything about me either.
