STAR'S POV
A small groan leaves my lips as I open my eyes slowly and I am met with a pounding headache. "Fuck" I mutter under my breath just before a yawn escapes my lips.
I hate drinking.
I sit up slowly, holding my head in hand and taking a breath. "The fuck?" I say in a panicked whisper as I suddenly realize that my clothes are gone. I look around and my panic only skyrockets when I realise I am not in my own house but in someone else's
"I really hate drinking" I groan, picking my clothes off the floor and putting it on quickly "What manic have I slept with now?" I murmur as I put my shoes on quickly, eager to get out of here
Just as I stand up from the couch, I hear footsteps and turn towards the stairs to see probably the woman who probably owned the house.
Hot, she's hot but now's not the time.
I have other problems to face at the moment.
"You're awake" she says as her eyes meet mine "It's 4 in the evening, I thought you were dead" she says
Shit. I slept that long?
"Well pretty alive" I joke with a small awkward laugh "Um...sorry but who are you and um...where did we meet?"
"I'm Logan. I brought you here from the club" she says taking her seat and I nod slowly remembering being at the club
"Oh. But how come you brought me here? Did we..? You know? I was pretty drunk so I don't really remember anything "
"You mean sex? Of course not." She frowns
Ouch.
I mean she didn't really have to say it like that.
"Oh" I say "Why am I here exactly?"
"I brought you here cause you were a drunk, crying mess and my cousin convinced me to take you home." She explains
"I cried?" I ask embarrassed
"You blabbered a lot too, it was annoying" she says
"Thanks..."
"It wasn't a compliment"
"Didn't feel like one either" I murmur with a clear of my throat
"It shouldn't" she says, pulling out her phone and looking at it briefly before getting up "So tell me this, where are you going to stay? " she asks and I let out a sigh subconsciously
Right, living status currently is homeless.
"Um...I don't know yet. I'm still trying to figure something out " I say quietly and I see her hesitate briefly before opening her mouth to speak
"Well if you want, you can stay here till you figure yourself out" she says and I raise my brows
"What?"
"I'm offering you a place to stay, what don't you understand?" She asks
Am I going to be called stupid indirectly all day?
"Right, I just...we don't even know each other" I say quietly
"You're right, you can go live somewhere else then" she says with a shrug
"No! I mean...I'd love to take up your offer"
"It's a generous one, why wouldn't you?" She asks and it's a struggle to keep the smile on my face
"Right. But um...I'm in a bit of a fix at the moment and I don't really have any money currently" I say
"That's alright, I wasn't asking you to live here on a rent"
"So it's free?"
"What else?" She raises a brow, looking at me like I'm some dumb child she has to talk to
Keep smiling Star. I caution myself
"Right, it's just..."
"I really don't want your money. If you'd like to show your gratitude, figure your shit out and get out of my house quickly" she says
Damn, am I seriously trying to live with this rude ass woman?
Do I even have a choice right now? It's either this or be on the street.
"As soon as possible" I murmur
"But of course, if you're going to be staying here, there are a few rules we would need to lay down" she says and I nod slowly
"Of course" I say with a small smile
"You take care of cooking yourself, don't try to be so friendly with me, don't talk to me unnecessarily and don't involve yourself in my business " she says and I nod slowly
Yeah okay, I can live with that
"That's fine. I won't be in your way, I promise " I say
"As you shouldn't" she says and I nod "Do you have any thing you'd like to add?"
"Um...not exactly. Just grateful for this" I smile
"So...any disease, sickness, allergies I should know about?" She asks and I'm about to speak when she cuts me off "You know what? We can discuss that later. I have somewhere to be right now" she says glancing at her wrist watch
"Oh alright"
"Great. Well make yourself at home, you can have the third room on the right so feel free to access it. The kitchen's over there, do not touch my chips or I'll bury you" she says
"Never, I swear" I say
"Good"
"Thank you so much by the way, I really am so grateful" I tell her honestly
"It's fine. As I said, I have somewhere to be. I won't be home for a couple days but I'm trusting you to not raid my house and run away"
"God no, that'd be stupid and so ungrateful. I'd never do that"
"Great. Think you can take care of being alone?" she asks and I nod
"Yeah sure. I used to live alone " I tell her and she nods, putting her phone in her pocket
"Alright then, have fun" she says
"You too" I smile and she nods before heading out the door and shutting it behind her
I let out a sigh before plopping back down on the couch.
I guess some things just work themselves out.
