I finished the final curl in my hair and turned of the curling wand. I covered my eyes and sprayed the hair spray all over my head.
I don't do this everyday, but decided today was a good idea.
I re-applied my lipgloss and pursed my lips, making sure I looked presentable.
After Alfie messaged me, we spoke for a while and he suggested we meet. I'd never usually agree but thought, what the hell? I'd meet the guy sometime anyway.
I grabbed my house keys and phone and put them in the bag. I slung it over my shoulder and made my way out of the house and to my car.
We decided we would meet at Starbucks at 12 ish. It's now about 11:45 and seeing as it's only a 10 minute drive, I didn't need to rush.
If i'm being honest, I'm practically shitting myself. I'm so nervous! I don't usually just meet up with guys. It's not like me.
Not many guys like me anyway because i'm so insecure and I have anxiety. They'll say a few harsh words and leave. They'll say I have an 'illness'. I guess that's why I never feel good about myself. But for some reason, this felt right.
I parked next to Starbucks and checked my makeup in the rear view mirror. I smiled when I was happy that I was presentable.
I got out and made my way to the door of Starbucks.
I looked around and noticed Alfie wasn't here yet so I went to the counter.
"What can I get you?" She asked
I thought for a minute, "I'll just have a Grande Mocca please"
She nodded and made my drink whilst taking other peoples orders.
"Name?"
"Zoe"
She handed me my drink and I went and found a seat next to the window. I took out my iPhone and noticed it was only 11:59am. Seeing as there was wifi, I checked twitter and read some comments on my video.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and jolted up, not expecting.
"Oh, Alfie" I panted, holding my heart.
He laughed, "Sorry, didn't mean to frighten ya Zo"
Oh god, he has given me a nickname already.
What the hell Zoe? Shh!
I was suddenly engulfed in a hug. I was taken aback but went with it and hugged him back.
"Nice to meet you Zoe"
I smiled, getting engulfed in Alfie's scent. He pulled away, to my unliking.
For some reason, the hug felt somewhat right.
