"Are they ready?" I ask.
"Yep. Now all we need is Maxon," Marlee replies.
I look at Eadlyn and Ahren with their shirts that say "I'm a big brother" and "I'm a big sister" on them. I have them sit next to each other with pink and blue baby shoes. They both giggle and play.
"Go get your hubby," Marlee teases.
I smile and leave. I rush to Maxon's office, running part of the way. He smiles when I go in. Of course I'm grinning like crazy.
"Hello my dear," he greats.
"Hey!"
I hug him. He hugs me back.
"There a reason you're so happy?"
"Yep. I have a gift for you."
"Oh. Exciting."
"Come on!"
"Now?"
"Yes now."
"Alright alright."
"Hurry up," I rush.
He gets up and I drag him to the kids room. I stop him outside the door.
"Great. You brought the kids into this," he teases.
"Yeah, yeah. Ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"Ok. Open the door."
He opens the door and we go in. He looks at the twins.
"Daddy!" Eadlyn yells excitedly.
"Hi sweetie.....what does your shirt say?"
He looks at it. After a moment he looks at me. I smile. He smiles back.
"Are you?"
I nod.
He hugs me, twirling me in the air. Once my feet hit the ground I kiss him. He kisses me back hard, keeping me close.
I'm glad he's so happy.
"What's going on?" Ahren asks.
We both sit on the ground in front of them.
"You know how you have a sister?" I ask.
"Yeah. Eadlyn is my sissy."
"You might have another one," I say.
"Or a brother," Maxon adds.
"Wow!" Eadlyn says.
We both smile.
"You guys excited?" Maxon asks.
"Yeah!" They both yell.
I tear up and lean on Maxon. I'm so glad the kids are happy too.
"I can't wait to see the baby," I say.
"Me neither. I hope it's like you," Maxon says.
"Like me?"
"Yeah. Red hair, hot temper."
I look at my grinning husband with a glare then roll my eyes.
"Haha so funny."
"I try."
"Well try harder Blondie."
"Hey now."
I laugh. He smiles and laughs too.
I love how we can joke with each other. I hold his hand and kiss his cheek.
