i walk into art, looking around for tyler.
where is he?
"looking for your man?" a kid i barely talk to, ethan, asks, chuckling.
my eyes widen. "you mean tyler?" i ask.
ethan, unattractively i may add, snorts. "who else would i be talking about? you don't hang with anyone else."
"y-yeah, i'm looking for tyler," i say.
"he's in the bathroom..." ethan laughs and earns laughs from a few other students.
oh shit.
i turn around out of the room and sprint to the boy's bathroom.
"make sure you check both bathrooms, i can't tell if it's a boy or not!" i hear ethan behind me.
entering the bathroom, i hear sniffling and then silence.
"who's in here?" i hear a familiar voice ask.
"come out, tyler," i say.
i hear tyler gasp quietly. "josh?" he asks. i can tell he's been crying his eyes out.
"i'm here," i say, softly.
silence.
tyler comes out of the stall to the right. his eyes are filled with both anger and sadness.
"josh..." he says, almost spitting out my name.
i flinch. "are you alright?" i ask.
"i fucking hate you!" tyler screeches.
i stare at him, my eyes wide and my mouth open. what?
"you used me!" tyler screams, tears falling faster and faster down his face. "all for, what? a dare! a fucking dare!"
what?! i didn't use you!
all i can do is think the words, not say them.
"you got close to me! gained my trust! just so you could complete a dare and take my virginity! i hate guys like you! only want others for sex! i fucking hate you, josh!"
every word sinks into my skin. it burns. it really does. the aching feeling in my heart.
tyler suddenly is filled with more sadness than anger. "i loved you, josh..."
i finally find my voice. "tyler," is all i say. if he really loved me, he'll listen.
"what?" tyler says, crying into his hands. "are you going to try and tell me otherwise? simon tells ethan everything! i'm not stupid!"
"tyler," i say, raising my voice a tad so he can hear just how hard i'm struggling.
i notice the tears falling down my own face.
quickly, tyler sprints out of the bathroom, leaving my alone with my pain and tears.
