Luke's P.O.V.
Four weeks earlier*
She still wouldn't let me in.
I almost had a break through before she blocked the mind link again.
I did my best to hide and compose myself; but nothing seemed to work.
I snarled in frustration and punched a hole in my bedroom wall.
There was a knock on the door.
I gave a low growl and stalked over to open the door.
I did my best to compose myself, then opened up the door.
The one who stood there was the last person I wanted to see.
She threw herself onto me and began kissing me. I stood there in shock for a minute and shoved her off of me.
I growled, "What the fuck Tristen?"
She gave me a sad and innocent look, "Lukey, I heard what happened. I'm so sorry. Sorry that bitch ever walked into our lives and tainted it with her presence. We both could've had a perfect life together without her."
I snarled at her, "Don't you dare talk about your Luna that way. She is better than you ever could be."
She gave an exaggerated gasp and put her hand on her chest.
"I'm hurt. I'm so hurt you said that to your lover. We both know what you've done in the past Luke. She may be pure but you're sure as hell not. Neither of us are."
"Tristen leave! Now!" I snarled again.
I watched her exit and grab the doorknob. She looked up at me, " She will find out eventually, whether you tell her or someone else."
With that she shut the door. I heard her footsteps fade as she progressed down the hall.
I sat down and put my head in my hands.
I'm gonna loose my mind without her here.
**The day of the initial fight between Blood Moon and Full Moon**
My pack and I sprinted through the forest to Blood Moon territory.
My wolf was loosing his mind and going mad without Danny.
Its been a month since she has disappeared without a trace and one of my scouts said he had smelt her scent in Blood Moon.
Blood Moon.
The fur on my neck rose. They probably captured her and Allysa and kept them in the cellars.
Zane growled viciously at this thought.
We came to the border. It had grown dark, perfect, we get the upper hand. Being cloaked by the veil of night.
I shifted into my wolf as did the rest of my pack. I linked everyone.
We go in there and fight but, look for your Luna. The scout said she was on this territory.
Yes alpha! They all chorused.
I turned around and ran into the woods. I gave a loud howl and ducked behind a bush and waited patiently for unsuspecting Blood Moon wolves.

I watched my warriors scurry away one by one, all of them wounded.
I swatted the wolf's muzzle and jumped away to look at who was tearing up my plan.
It was a horse.
It was covered in wolves, my wolves, and it was still fighting fiercely. I growled and ran up at it. My warriors saw me coming and jumped away.
The horse looked back confused and I rammed it in the side.
It was sent flying into a tree. I heard it screech in pain.
I began to walk up to it when suddenly, I felt something break in my head.
All this fear and sadness crept into my system.
A voice, HER voice filled my head.
Luke...help...me...please.
I stopped in shock and stared at the horse.
She looked up at me with those brown eyes and began to painfully shift back.
There she was, the girl I had lost a month ago.
What...what have I done?!
I thought freaked out.
I ran behind a tree and shifted. I put on a pair to shorts and walked back over to where she lay.
Suddenly, I was attacked and knocked out.

I woke inside a cell.
My first thought was my pack.
I mind linked Beta Ayden,
Ayden, make sure the pack stays safe.
Alpha! Where are you? We didn't see you return.
I'm getting Danny, it'll be...difficult. I'll come home as soon as I get her. Until then, keep the pack safe or I swear Ayden...
Yes Alpha.
The door to the cell opened.
I jerked my head up and snarled angrily.
Jace.
"Hello Luke."
"Jace."
"Good to see you again."
"Mhmm. Too bad, I don't feel the same."
Jace laughed, "Of course not, you attacked our pack and one of our beautiful horse shifters. She still isn't awake because of you."
I felt my eye twitch, I decided to weasel some answers out of him.
"Pfft, what is she to you?" I laughed
He growled at me, " I love that girl and you hurt her! You will pay for your sins!"
He pulled out a silver knife.
I growled at Jace and pulled on my chains bounding me to the wall.
He DID like her. He liked MY mate. I would kill him.
He slashed open my shirt and sliced through my skin. I howled in pain but continued to fight it.
"You stay away from her", I growled," I will kill you if you touch her."
He laughed at me, "How? You can't even leave this cell."
He sliced the knife across my arm.
I hissed but still held firm.
What happened after that I'd rather not say. Let's just say it was a living hell.
Danny's P.O.V.
I sat in the hospital room with Kelsey and Luke.
I couldn't believe how badly Jace had hurt him.
I looked over at him, sleeping peacefully.
I sighed, how could I let this happen.
Kelsey pawed my leg, It wasn't your fault Danny, you were scared and needed some time. You didn't feel safe at that time, he had to ha e understood that...right?
I looked at Kelsey, "I don't know Kelsey, I feel like all I did was drive his wolf mad until he made the decision to attack a pack and tell them before hand."
Kelsey laid down on the floor. Her head in between her front paws, You have a point, but still...
I sighed and leaned over to stroke her soft head. "Either way Kels, none of it was our fault...neither of us could've known this would happen if we left. Its just...I...I didn't feel safe there anymore."
I looked away. All this madness, this confusion, I don't know how to feel about any of this.
Is it really not fault?
Am I just telling myself this?
Could I have kept us safer if I stayed with him that night?
So many questions ran through my head, one in particular.
Werewolves seem to be easily angered...will he hurt me again?
Can I trust another werewolf again?
I heard a soft snore and looked down.
I smiled. Kelsey was peacefully sleeping on the floor. I leaned up and gazed at my mate in the bed. Tubes and IV cords in his arms. Jace gave it to him bad.
My mind seemed to wander after about 5 minutes of just staring at Luke.
Werewolves murdured your family.
They took your home.
They threatened you, left scars on your skin.
The post.
The rope.
The escape from death.
I involuntarily reached up and rubbed the faint scar on my neck.
My eyes seemed to be glazed over.
I clenched my free hand into a fist.
Never.
Again.
