3rd person p.o.v.

So, turns out Rydel walked into her house when Evan was ranting and saying Jordan had a new girlfriend. Guilt washed over her after hearing Evan. "How could I have done that to him?" She asked herself, softly. Ratliff saw Rydel in the kitchen, heading upstairs after Seth and Evan left. Ratliff got up and walked over to her and pulled her into a kiss. Rydel pulled away. "Elli, not now." She spoke and walked upstairs. She made her way to her bedroom and started writing.

Ratliff frowned a bit and went back downstairs to the living room where all the guys made kissy faces. "Fuck off!"

*Next Day*

"How you doing out there tonight, Chicago!?" Rydel yelled into the microphone as she stood on the left platform across from her boyfriend, Ratliff, who was on the right platform behind the drum set. The crowd screamed as Rydel stood in the spotlight, her mini skirt, shimmering. Her crop top sparkled with the word love written across her chest. She made her way down the stairs and to the front of the stage, not once did the spotlight leave her. "Like my skirt?" She asked and shook her waist a bit when she was stood front and center and in response, the crowd roared with excitement. "Here's a new song and it goes out to someone very special." She told the audience before her brothers and new boyfriend began playing their instruments. Twelve seconds later Rydel began singing, "There ain't no way that I-I-I could ever forget you." She swung her head side to side a bit, feeling the music before continuing, "I can't remember why I e-ever went and left you." As the pre-chorus cued, her brothers echoed a few words of the following lyrics, "Maybe I was hit in my head. Maybe must've been something that I said. Ba-by, I want to take it back to-ni-ight~" She sang and made her way to the edge of the stage and waved at some fans, who naturally screamed.

"Woah-oh-oh~" Her brothers sang together.

"Oh, oh, oh-oh." She sang and her brothers all sang after, "No-oh-oh~" But held their notes a little longer.

"You don't have to tell me twice when lightning strikes." She sang out and walked to the right side of the stage to wave at the neglected fans.

"Oh, oh, oh-oh." The crowd chimed in, loudly after Rydel pointed the mic to the crowd. "Oh, oh, oh-oh."

"You don't have to tell me twice! When lightning strikes." Rydel made her way around the stage spinning around as the music continued for a minute. While the music progressed with the same shuffle beat on drums, Rydel chimed in with a soft, "Ey, ey, ey, ey, ey-" She then stopped her spinning and dancing as she stood beside her youngest brother on stage, Ross, who was stood in the middle of the stage. She wrapped her arm around his neck loosely. Seeing as Ross stood a bit taller than her, despite being younger, he helped her out by lowering himself to the ground a bit. She cracked a smile as she continued with the next verse and brought the mic back to her pink lip-glossed lips, "So obvious that I-I-I wasn't seeing clearly," She then shook her hips a bit as she grooved to the music. "'Cause right before my ey-ey-eyes you were disappearing." She then ruffled Ross' hair and walked over to Rocky, who was stood on the left side of the stage. She rested her right arm on his shoulder and brought the microphone back up to her lips, aiming it between her and Rocky so he could sing backup, "If I could just go back in time, say the words to blow your mind. Loneliness is such a crime. There ain't a thing I wouldn't do- I wouldn't do, yeah." She then stepped away from her other younger brother and walked to the front of the stage. "Maybe I wouldn't have been so crazy, I was stupid letting you go. Ba-by, I want to take it back to-ni-ight~" She held the note for a bit while her brothers echoed her words. When her breath ran out, she walked over to her last brother that was stood on stage, Riker. He was hitting the notes on his bass consecutively and smiled at his little sister as she hugged his waist.

Rydel as well as the crowd continued with, "Oh, oh, oh-oh." Before every, "Oh, oh, oh-oh." Sung by Rydel and the eager fans, her brothers either sang a soft and harmonious, "Woa-oh-oh~",  or a "No-oh-oh~" To fill in the space between.

"You don't have to tell me twice, when lightning strikes." Rydel sang again and stepped from her older brother.

"Oh, oh, oh-oh." Everyone sang.

"You don't have to tell me twice! When lighting strikes!" She repeated with her brothers copying her words with a second of delay.

"Why-y-y can't I-I-I- let...you...go~?" Her singing grew choppy, but with good reason as she got a bit choked up and turned away from the crowd for a moment. "Why-y-y can't I-I-I-"  She held the note for a while and let her head bow, still faced away from the crowd as her brothers continued playing. "-Oh, oh, oh, oh." She almost whispered as a few tears fell from her eyes. "No, oh, oh, oh, oh." She wiped her tears and slowly rose her head and raised the microphone, "You don't have to tell me twice- You don't have to tell me tw-i-i-ice~" She then turned back around as she held the note- This being the longest held note throughout the whole song.

Her brothers and the fans continued with, "Oh, oh, oh-oh."

While Rydel marched to the front of the stage and sang the final chorus of the song"You don't have to tell me twice When lightning strikes!" Her brothers accompanied her for those lines. As the music grew for the final minutes, Rydel was in tears, trying her hardest to contain them. She continued to twirl around her brothers a bit as she made her way up the stairs back to her platform where her lonesome keyboard sat. She wiped her face as best she could before singing her final line with a voice that threatened to give out, "You don't have to tell me twice. When lightning strikes!"

The ground went crazy as the lights dimmed down. They were beyond pleased, but didn't really care about the song, nor what it was about. Ratliff, on the other hand, was left a bit concerned as he stared at his broken hearted girlfriend.

*Later, The Following Week*

The song Rydel wrote had been blowing up on the internet and over all social media platforms since their live performance and the songs release that following night. Jordan grew annoyed seeing as it was all he was seeing everywhere. Fans of both Jordan's band and Rydel's band seemed to be up in arms and speculating the song Rydel wrote was about Jordan. The majority of the fans were angry thinking Jordan was the one to blame for the break up, others just preferred Ratliff over Jordan and threw their negative comments at Jordan anyway. Barely any fans showed Jordan love and their fan base slowly declined. Jordan grew fed up as anyone would. His brother's were also angry with how many fans they were losing, but they did sympathize with him. Eventually, Jordan grew more fed up and frustrated as he was met for an interview with Rydel on live TV. He didn't know until last minute that it was an interview to get an inside scoop of their break up, nor did he know he was going to have to sit beside Rydel. He wore his dark blue skinny jeans, black and white converse, a dark teal shirt, and his black leather jacket. Sat to his far left was Rydel. She was wearing a black tutu, her pink converse, a pink shirt with leopard print, and her hair was done up with a bow pining it together. Her makeup also matched her outfit perfectly. Both Jordan and Rydel sat on the white leather couch, each one on the furthest side from the other, leaving a lonesome cushion between them. Jordan was closer to the interviewer with the microphone in hand and an annoyed expression on his face. Rydel looked pained, but kept a smile on as the interviewer started, "Hello to all our viewers out there and in our audience today." He announced into the microphone with great enthusiasm and when he adressed the audience they clapped and shouted. The interviewer was sat on the single white leather chair to the right of Jordan. He wore light blue jeans with a rip in each knee and a white t-shirt with the words Hot New Music in bold red lettering. On either of his arms he had some tattoos, but nothing too extravagant. His short dirty blonde hair was styled up exposing his mellow green eyes opposed to if his hair was down. He kept his enegry high as he continued, "Thank you for tuning into Hot New Music: The Inside Scoop. I'm your host Jack McFly. Sitting to my left I am joined with the guitarist of Annoying Little Sister, Jordan Wolf-" When Jack began the introductions, the camera panned wider, revealing Jordan. He anxiously shook his leg which caused the microphone to bounce a bit in his right hand that sat in his lap and he gave a quick wave to the camera with his left. "-And over in that corner is miss Rydel Lynch who is know for occasional killer vocals and sick keyboard skills for R5." He spoke. Rydel also gave a wave and smiled brightly. "Rydel, why is such a pretty girl sitting by herself? Join us." With that said the interviewer shot Jordan a quick glare that was unseen by the cameras and Jordan as Rydel gave a small anxious laugh and slid over.

She took the middle cushion, but kept space between her and her ex. She brought the microphone to her lips after she sat down, "Well, I don't want to step on any toes." She laughed nervously as Jordan rolled his eyes. She then added, "My Mom says I'm a klutz." Jokingly and shrugged her shoulders after.

"Nah. You're fine." Jack smiled. "I'm sure we can all be adults about this." He said and aimed that at Jordan who rolled his eyes for the third time since the interview started. "So, Rydel," Jack started, "Your new single "Lightning Stirkes" is blowing up everywhere and fans are blown away. Would you say it's a top favorite?"

Rydel smiled before speaking, "Well, I don't know how well it will do in a few weeks time-" She giggled a bit. "-But I do think it's a song some fans can relate to. It was very therapeutic for me to write and I was able to process some feeling. I'm just glad the fans like it so much." She concluded.

The audience began cheering again. Jordan subtly rolled his eyes again before looking into the crowd and seeing posters made by some fans. They were hurtful to say the least. Some of the posters consisted of Rydellington 4Ever, Rydel <3 Ratliff, R5 Rocks, No Love For Jordan, Ratliff > Jordan, And Many Others. Jordan only grew more annoyed as the interviewer continued, "We'll dig deeper into that song in a minute." Jack said before letting his eyes land on Jordan, "Anything going on with Annoying Little Sister?" Anyone could see that the interviewer, Jack, favored Rydel over Jordan.

So naturally, Jordan didn't want to answer a man who didn't actually care. "Yeah, quite a lot actually. Our band goes on tour soon, we signed with a label, and we're always working on new material." Jordan informed with a forced smile.

"Great, great." Jack nodded. He turned back to Rydel. "So, Rydel, Rydellington seems to be taking over the world. How are you feeling about that?"

Rydel was hesitant and she shook her leg a bit. "Well, Jack, I couldn't ask for better and more supporting fans." She answered.

As the interview progressed, Jack continued to ask Rydel questions surrounding her music and kept the talking to Jordan a minimum. "Alrighty, let's take a listen to R5's newest single, Lightning Strikes, for those who somehow managed to miss it." He said as the camera panned to the TV and showed the video.

Well, that was painful for Jordan. He's only already heard it thirty plus times this week. As the song ended Jack spoke again, "That is great stuff. A powerful song indeed." Jack complimented as the cameras panned back to him, Rydel, and Jordan. "So, Rydel, fans are speculating this song is in fact about Jordan-"

"Okay, okay." Rydel started, cutting Jack off. "The truth is the song is about Jordan, but it's not what people think-"

"Well, that's quite a change to the last song written about him." Jack commented, referring to the last song she released which was Love Me Like That. She had written the song after dating Jordan for a month and released it as a birthday gift to him.

Rydel looked at Jordan. His eyes were angred, but tears could be seen lining his eyes. He remainded sitting there with his left hand to his face, biting slightly on his knuckles to refrain from snapping. His right leg crossed over his left, bouncing it up and down. She scrunched her face a bit and shook her head. "No, it's not like that. Those songs-"

Jack could care less what Rydel had left to say and then asked, "So, Jordan, explain to us why you felt the need to break this beautiful young lady's heart?"

Jordan had had enough at this point. "I didn't break her fucking heart! She broke mine!" Jordan yelled into the microphone. Again, all the questions seemed to be aimed at Rydel and her band, up until this question and that's the question they decided to ask him. He knew he shouldn't have gone. Realistically, he had the right to be as upset as he was.

Rydel looked down. "Stop. It was my fault." Rydel softly spoke. The audience gasped.

"Impossible! A girl like you? No." Jack gasped then asked, "Then explain."

Jordan rested his head on his right clenched fist and rolled his eyes as he lazily lifted the microphone to his lips, "Yeah. Open your mouth and explain." Jordan harshly said as he  gazed at her.

"Okay- Well, Ratliff, who is the drummer for our band, said that I should go on a date with him. And everyone was shipping us. Both the fans and my brothers. So I did and something connected as it did once with Jordan. I should have been smart and thought this through, but I didn't. Then come our anniversary-" Rydel stated quickly and pointed to her and Jordan before continuing, "-Ratliff asked me to be his girlfriend. I was really happy and said yes, then called you-" She said and faced Jordan, giving him her full attention and slowing her rambling. "I can't forgive myself and I can't imagine how badly I hurt you." Rydel said. "I'm so sorry."

"Are you kidding me!?" Jordan spoke. He rolled his eyes and tossed the microphone toward Jack. He then stood up after pulling the wires off of him. "You think it's just as easy as, oh I hurt you badly and broke your heart, but here, let me force some tears, put on a sob sorry, and apologize! Fuck you!" And with that, Jordan got up and left the set.

The words, "Well, that's where this ends. I'm Jack McFly with Hot New Music: The Inside Scoop-" We're heard faintly behind him.

Rydel was quick to run after him. The tears from earlier weren't fake, but more real tears streamed down her face, leaving her makeup smudged everywhere. She was a mess. "Jordan-" Jordan stopped in his tracks with his back still to her. Rydel kept a distance, before continuing, "-I'm sorry. I really am! It was all my fault. Now everyone knows. I'm so sorry."

Jordan turned on his heels and walked closer to her. "Sorry doesn't change the fact you broke my heart! Yeah, the world knows, but what's that gonna do?! You just got a bunch of people to hate you! Your fans, they won't respect you anymore, or hey, maybe they do. I sure as hell know I don't." Jordan turned his back to her again. "How do you even look at yourself..." He spoke again as he headed for the exit. "But hey, I'm sure you'll right another song about it." Was the last thing he said before leaving the building.

Rydel wouldn't give up that easily. She knew what she had done and the guilt is enough, is it not? The guilt piles up day after day, but what does that change? She made a mistake, she knows that. Yes a big, bad mistake, and she has to live with that guilt. What more does she need to do to get others to realize she can't take it back? Right before Jordan drove out, Rydel stood in front of his car. "That song was an apology, you asshole!"

Jordan slammed on the brakes. "Rydel, fucking move!" Jordan said as he leaned out the window.

"No! I'd rather be run over than lose my best friend!" Rydel yelled.

Jordan sat in shock. His anger disappeared and he was just sad now. He had been friends with her for a while. It had nothing to do with the fact she broke his heart. Just more the fact that all their memories together before they dated would have just faded away. Jordan turned the engine off and stepped out of his car. He walked over to Rydel. She flinched slightly thinking he would hit her, or yell at her. She froze when his arms wrapped around her. "I'm sorry." He whispered.

Rydel then realized he was hugging her only trying to comfort her and she relaxed into his touch. "Don't be. "

"I love you. I forgive you."
