Chae Min's POV
"Calling the attention of Seventeen, please go back to the theatre now."
We heard the MC announced.
"Woah, they already know our group name." - The8
"Because I said it." S.coups said proudly.
"As expected of the Leader." - Vernon
"Let's go back." I said.
"Are you sure?" - Vernon
"We can go home now if you want." - Jeonghan
"You practiced a lot for your performance today and you'll not going to present it? It's a NO." I said.
I started walking and they followed me.
"But how abo--" - Jun
"No buts. I'm going to watch you perform." I said so they stopped talking.
We entered the back door leading to the backstage. The other contestants looked at us when we entered the room.
"And now, before we announce the winner here's a special number from Seventeen!" - MC
They clapped their hands and the girls screamed.
After they danced to the song, Sorry Sorry and their version of Bang by After School, they were all sweating. I got their towels and gave it to them.
"What can you say?" - Hoshi
"Great. Full of energy and much better than you practiced." I smiled.
"Chae Min." I looked at Seungkyoon. Her eyes were swollen from crying.
I remembered I saw her with Jinhong earlier and he was holding her wrist. Thinking about it makes me... nevermind.
"Oh hey, where have you been?" I faked a smile.
"I-I'm sorry. I-I wasn't here when you performed. I-I wasn't able t-to cheer you up." She stammered a lot huh.
"That's right. I know, maybe you are busy with some things or, SOMEONE." Her eyes widened. She was being obvious. One thing that answered my question.
The boys didn't say a word to her and just looked back at the stage.
"And now let's announce the winner. 3rd runner up goes to Class 3-B." We clapped our hands.
I felt Seungkyoon went out of the backstage.
"2nd runner up goes to Class 1-C." The runner ups was given a sash and a medal.
"The 1st runner up, goes to... *drum rolls* Class 4-A!"
I'm not going to win but it's fine, I did my best.
"And the winner will receive a certificate and a trophy from no other than Kim Jinhong. She will going to represent our school at the MBC Battle of the Best next month, Mr. Kim please come up here on stage and announce the winner." - MC
"Why of all the judges he's the one who will announce it?!" - DK
"Let's go." I said.
"The program is not yet over." - Hoshi
"I'm not going to the stage because I'm not going to win." They know what I'm talking about.
"Why not?" - Vernon
"I disobeyed the requirements and I'm already hungry." I just said.
I was about to leave the backstage when he started to speak.
"Thank you all for letting me announce the winner. We, the judges talked about it. If this school needs a singer who's going to represent this school, that student should know how to play instruments, how to read notes and the most important thing is, she or he knows how to compose a song." - Jinhong
"Don't tell me..." - Woozi
"We all know that she disobeyed the first requirement which is you need to cover a song but she showed us, that she has the ability to compose her original song. Let's congratulate her, the representative of our class, Class 2-A, Yoon Chae Min!" - Jinhong
Our class? Class 2-A? He is my classmate?!
The worst part, he's our classmate.
Seungkyoon's fiancé, Jinhong holding her wrist, our classmate, a new transferee..
Damn, my head is aching!
"Noona, it's you!" - Seungkwan
Jeonghan and the others went to the stage to get my certificate and trophy.
"But we need the contestant to be here." The MC suggested.
I'm not feeling well.
I went at the stage, faking a smile. Jinhong put the sash on me before giving me the certificate and the trophy. He smiled at me and offer his hand for a handshake but Jeonghan was the one who got his hand.
We took a picture and they congratulated me when I felt something hot on my face. Shit, I'm crying, again. I looked at Jinhong who was looking at me worriedly. F*ck you. You're the reason why I'm crying! The teachers asked me why I'm crying so Joshua hugged me and he was the one who answered their question.
"She is just happy to be the winner. Thank you Ma'am, we need to go now." He said.
We went out of the theatre and walked to the parking lot where our mini-bus is. I stopped crying but still, Joshua didn't let go of me. We rode in the mini-bus and no one dared to say a word. Joshua sat beside me while his arms were around me. I leaned my head on his shoulder as I closed my eyes.
Seungkyoon's POV
That was not the Chae Min I knew. She was cold to me when I said sorry. Maybe she knew it already that's why she is mad at me now. I'm sorry Chae Min, I'm sorry.
Jinhong's POV
I announced the winner but Seventeen, I mean Jeonghan hyung with his friends was the first one who went to the stage and I noticed Chae Min was hesitating to walk towards us. I gave her the certificate and trophy and I offer her my hand for a handshake but Jeonghan hyung was the one who got it. We congratulated her and she started to cry so I became worried. I was about to go near her when a guy suddenly hugged her. He said that she was just happy because she won, the reason why she was crying but her eyes didn't say it's the reason. Is it because of me again? The guy with small eyes gave me a death glare, I thought he was going to punch me again. And then I noticed that all of them gave me a stay-away-from-her-look before they went out of the theatre, do they want me away from Chae Min?
Third Person's POV
"I'm hungry." - Seungkwan
"Sshh. She's sleeping." - Joshua
"Is noona alright?" - Dino
"We can't say it. Let's wait if she talks to us later, she's fine but if she went straight to her room, she's not." - S.coups
"You already know my sister well Seungcheol-ah." - Jeonghan
"Her phone rang. Find it!" - Hoshi
"It's a message from Seungkyoon noona." - Vernon
"Read it." - S.coups
So Vernon read it.
Text Message:
From: Seungkyoonie
"Chae Min, I'm sorry. I didn't want that to happen. What you saw and what you know, I'm sorry. His dad and my dad are business partners, my dad arranged my marriage to his business partner's son and I knew you know it's him. That's why I didn't go to class last Tuesday because my dad and I met them. I know it will hurt you but I can't do anything about it. If I didn't agree to my father, our business is going to be bankrupted. I hope you understand, I will marry him soon enough and I wish you'll forgive me not now but soon. I'm sorry."
When Seungcheol heard that, he wasn't able to say a word.
"Seungkyoon has a fiancé?" - DK
"Maybe." - Mingyu
"Who is it?" - The8
"She said that she knows that Chae Min might get hurt if she will know about it. Don't tell me..." - Jun
"Yes. He is." Chae Min answered. She wasn't sleeping and she heard the whole thing.
Seungcheol somehow felt something was aching inside.
Until they arrived home, he was quiet. All of them were quiet. No one dared to talk, they can't believe that today, that was supposed to be a nice day for them, became a bad day.
As they entered the house, Chae Min remembered something. She stopped for a second and went straight to the kitchen.
"Please cook something delicious for them." She told the maids who were in charge in the kitchen.
She told the other maid to buy a cake and put Happy Birthday Dancing Machine! From: Seventeen & Chae Min on it.
She went back to the living room where Seventeen was resting.
She walked towards them and she put the trophy on the sofa.
They looked at her and she knew that they were going to ask her if she's alright so she said, "I'm fine" before she went to her room. She placed her certificate beside the lamp before she changed her clothes. She sat at the sofa in her room while thinking.
Meanwhile, the boys decided to go to their rooms to change their clothes.
Text Message:
To: Minghao, Junhui, Little Chan
"Help the maids to prepare the foods and drinks."
To: Seokmin
"Don't let Hoshi go downstairs. I prepared something for him."
Sent.
Chae Min went downstairs and she decorated the dining area. Jun, The8 and Dino helped the maids to prepare the foods and drinks.
"Because of what happened today, we surely forgot that today is Hoshi hyung's birthday." - Dino
"Thanks to Chae Min, she still remembers it." - The8
The cake arrived and she put it on the center of the table.
"Jun, text the others to go downstairs. I'll deal with DK." - Chae Min
So the boys went downstairs when they received the message.
They looked around and they were surprised that there were too many delicious foods and a cake on the table.
"Woah." - Them.
"Sshh, Hoshi might here you." - Chae Min
So they lowered down their voice.
"Who prepared this?" - Mingyu
"Performance team?" - Woozi
"No. It's noona." - Dino
"Wow. My sister still remembers Hoshi's birthday even though you had a bad day today. We forgot about it already." - Jeonghan
"Yeah." They agreed.
They lined up theirselves beside the table.
SoonSeok's Room
DK put a blindfold on Hoshi.
"What is this for?" - Hoshi
"We are playing, you and I. But we will not play here in the room, we will play downstairs." - DK
They went outside their room and DK guided Hoshi to the stairs. DK brought Hoshi in front of them and then he removed the blindfold.
"Happy Birthday Hoshi!" - Seventeen
Hoshi's eyes gets bigger, (I wish it can be bigger ㅋㅋㅋ) and he cried, tears of joy.
"You know what, we forgot that today is your birthday because of what happened. Thanks to this precious girl who still remembers it." Wonwoo said as he ruffled Chae Min's hair.
"She prepared it all." - Joshua
"For real? *wiped tears* me too. I already forgot that today is my birthday hahaha." - Hoshi
Chae Min got her trophy on the sofa.
"Happy birthday Soonyoung, I still remember the gift you wanted to receive on your birthday." She gave him her trophy.
"Here you go. I won and this is for you." Hoshi got the trophy from ver and he cried again. He hugged Chae Min tightly.
"Thank you, thank you very much Chae Min! You cured my wound on my finger the other day, you still remember that today is my birthday and you did this all for me." He hugged her even tighter.
"Hoshi-yah. My sister can't breathe." - Jeonghan
"Sorry." Then he let go of Chae Min.
They started to eat happily like nothing happened earlier. I wish to be with them forever. Hoshi wished and blowed his cake and they sang him Happy Birthday. They put an icing on Hoshi's face while saying their wishes for him.
"Tiny is so kind." Mingyu said.
Chae Min put an icing on Mingyu's face and she hid behind Jeonghan.
And then they started to put an icing on each other's faces. Woozi silently went to the kitchen to avoid them but Hoshi noticed him so he put an icing on his nose. Woozi had no choice but to join them for revenge.
Chae Min ran when she noticed that she became the target.
"Don't you dare to put that thing on my face or else.." - Chae Min
"Or else what?" - Joshua
"You started it anyway." - Mingyu
"I'm going to hate all of you." She said looking at them seriously.
So they just ate the icing on their finger.
They just went back to the dining room and continued eating.
Chae Min's POV
That was close. I got a tissue from the kitchen and wiped the icing on their faces one by one.
"Noona is like a girlfriend." Seungkwan said out of the blue. I stopped wiping the icing on Woozi's nose when he said that.
"She's caring, loving, kind and of course, beautiful." Vernon added.
"An ideal girlfriend indeed." Joshua said. I felt my face became hot.
"She is our girlfriend." Hoshi said.
"No. Our Ice Princess." Wonwoo corrected.
"Our tiny Ice Princess.." Mingyu said.
"is blushing." He continued.
"I hate you Kim Mingyu!" I threw him the tissues that I used and they just laughed.
"Stupid princes." I whispered.
"What did you say?" Great, Jeonghan heard it.
"Nothing." I said and I went to the kitchen to wash my hands.
"You called us stupid princes! So from now on, we are your prince and no one can take you away from us." My brother was being exaggerated.
"Yeah!" They said in unison.
I was ashamed of myself but I'm happy to be with them. Thank God for giving me the chance to meet them, to be with them even though they are stupid sometimes,
"I love them."
