A/N This is a filler really, hope you like ittt

"Mia! Ava! Luke!" My mum shouts from downstairs, making me pause the Disney movie that we were watching.

"Yeah?" I yelled back, rubbing my face and smoothing my hair down. We had all been in the TV room upstairs watching 'Tangled', one of my favourite movies.

"We need to talk to you, you're not in trouble!" My mum shouted, resulting in Ava to groan and snuggle down back into Luke's shoulder. Luke had sat in-between me and Ava, his arm slung around her shoulder. However, his right hand was occupied under the covers with my left.

We all made our way downstairs and sat down opposite my parents, Luke on the left and Ava in-between us.

"So, as you may have realised, me and dad haven't been around much lately." My mum begins.

"Wow, really? Well spotted there, mum" I scoffed, crossing my arms and leaning back into the sofa.

"Mia, don't be difficult. Now, theres a reason why we have been so distant." She sighs.

"What is it mum? Are you okay? You're not sick or anything, are you?" Ava asks hurriedly, grabbing mum's hand.

"Now, now, darling. Don't be silly, your mother's fine. We're both fine. Quite the opposite, actually." Dad says, chuckling at her.

"Yes, your father's right. There's been a case opened and it's quite a big one, it could benefit our career's massively. Now, the only problem, it's all the way out in Washington D.C." My mum says, leaving us all speechless.

"Washington, as in America?" I ask, dumbfounded.

"Yes, where else? You're so dumb Mia." Ava snaps. Luke gives me an apologising look and I nod at him, brushing Ava off.

"Ava! Stop it. We'll be gone for about 6-12 weeks, depending on how everything plans out." My mum says, causing Ava to groan. Me and Luke are just shocked and we keep on exchanging glances with each other.

"Now, we trust you all. Ava and Luke, you're both 19 and we feel like we can trust you. Mia, you're 18 so you are an adult too. We know that you're starting college soon, and we're sorry that we can't be there for you, but this case is way too big for us to pass up." Dad says, his hands clasped in front of him.

I scoff and run a hand through my hair. "Why doesn't this surprise me." I mutter. My mum flinches but she pretends not to hear me.

"This is okay with you guys, isn't it?" Dad asks as we all mutter a series of agreements.

"Great, we'll be leaving tomorrow!"

------------------

"Goodbye, good luck with college darling!" My mum says as she kisses my forehead and jumps into the taxi.

As they drive away, I feel a mixture of sadness and anger. However, theres some relief thrown in there.

"Hey, come on Mia." Luke says, tugging the hem of my shirt and dragging me back inside.

"Get off Luke," I giggle, "you're gonna rip my shirt!" I shimmy out of his grip and begin to make my way upstairs to start on some coursework for college. I'm going in a couple of weeks and I still have some assignments due.

"You're such a drama queen." Luke says, causing me to turn around and look at him. He rolls his eyes and playfully puts a hand on his hip. I laugh at him and turn back around and continue to walk up the stairs.

"Whatever, Luke!" I yell making my way to my room.

------------------

It's been 3 hours. I sigh and check my phone to see the time, 1:38P.M. I decide to walk downstairs to get something to drink, as I've been working on my studies for what seems like forever. I make my way downstairs and I can smell something cooking.

"Mia! Took you long enough!" Ava laughs, flipping a pancake.

"Hey, these look good." I say, leaning across the counter and popping a blueberry in my mouth.

"Thanks, little sis." She says, pausing her cooking to ruffle my hair. I laugh and swat her hand away. Her phone buzzes on the counter and illuminates the wall, causing us to both turn and look at it. She puts down the spatula to check it. As she's doing so, I open the fridge to get some orange juice.

"Oh no." She mutters, her thick eyebrows drawing together and her eyes staring intently at her phone.

"What's happened?" I ask, pouring myself a glass of OJ.

"The office needs me there right now, I have an assignment that I completely forgot about." She says, flipping the last pancake and turning off the cooker.

"Oh. Well, who's going to eat all of these pancakes?" I ask, taking a sip.

"Well, Luke should be down here soon, he had to take a call about his shop back at Sydney." Ava says, making her way down the hall and grabbing her bag.

"Okay, I'll see you later!" I shout as she opens the door and waves goodbye.

I drain my glass and begin to get out some supplies for my pancake decoration. I've got the sugar, lemon juice, Nutella, maple syrup, strawberries and bananas. As I'm placing them on the table, a pair of hands suddenly make contact with my hips, causing me to drop the ingredients on the table with a loud bang.

"Crap!" I shout, reaching out to steady the Nutella. I turn around to see a giggling Luke standing there. I laugh and slap his arm. "You're such an idiot!" I shout, walking over to the cupboard to take out some plates.

"These look so good, did you make them?" Luke asks, dipping his finger into the Nutella and licking it off, making me push him away.

"No, Ava did. She had to run by the office to finish an assignment or something." I say, serving up the pancakes.

"Oh, okay." Luke grins at me, grabbing a plate and putting a lot of Nutella on it. Hey, I'm not judging him, I've lost count of how many times I've done that.

"How the hell do you eat so much but still stay thin?" I ask, sprinkling my pancakes with sugar.

"Mia, it's called working out." He says, flexing his biceps and kissing them. I reach out and prod his tummy.

"Nope, no muscle." I say, crossing my arms and smirking at him.

"Hey! I do have abs, they're just protected with a layer of fat." Luke says, smiling at me and grabbing his over-flowing plate on pancakes.

"Whatever you say, Lucas!" I retort, sticking a fork into my own stack. He laughs and shoves a forkful of pancakes into his mouth.

"So, I was thinking," he starts, his mouth still full of food. He quickly swallows it and looks up at me. "I was thinking that we could have a party." He says, cutting up his pancakes.

"Yeah, I'm down for that, I need a break from studying, but I can assure you that Ava won't be." I say, pouring some maple syrup.

"She'll never have to know!" He says, swallowing some more pancakes.

"Oh yeah?" I question, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, she's really busy with work so she'll probably be at the office." He says, eating a strawberry.

"Okay. When will we have it then?" I ask, taking my dirty dishes to the sink. Luke walks over to me and does the same. He's standing close to me, close enough to make the hairs on my arm rise. I swallow and look up at him. He looks back down at me and smiles.

"On Saturday, I guess." He says, placing his plate in the sink and rubbing his hands on his jeans.

"Saturday. Right. So, that's 5 days from now?" I ask, clearing the rest of the food away.

"Yeah, if that's okay. You have like, a really big house so I thought it would be ideal." He chuckles and I laugh along with him.

"Yeah, I guess I do." Suddenly, an idea pops into my head. "Could I invite Harry?" I ask, turning to face him.

His muscles noticeably tense up and his jaw tightens. I sigh and turn to look at him. He's being ridiculous, I have no idea why he is so defensive when it comes to Harry.I mean,he hasn't done anything to him.

"Whatever." I sigh, throwing the dishcloth down. I hear Luke sigh and I walk up the stairs to phone Harry and invite him.

"Hey Harry!" I say, flopping down on my bed.

"Hi Mia, what's up?" He asks.

"Uh, I have something to ask you."

"What is it?"

"Do you want to come to a party at mine on Saturday?"

"I'd love to." I can practically hear the smile taking over his face on the phone.
