Natsu stared at you in disbelief. Your heard a clink. The sound of metal hit the floor.
Your eyes widened as the bracelet Natsu was holding fell to the ground.
You immediately let go of Gray. "Natsu..." You stepped towards him, cautiously.
Natsu took a step back. "Now who's the cheater?"
"I can't believe you. I can't believe I was going to make up with jewelry." He shook his head.
"Wait Natsu! You misunderstand-!" You cry out.
But he was already gone.
Your heart shattered.
___
"(Y/N)?" Gray begged from outside your bedroom door.
"Please, please come out." He said, once again.
You sat against the door on the other side, your back against the cold wood, and your head in your arms.
'I...'
'Natsu, he...'
'I'm such...'
Broken sentences ran through your mind. 'He doesn't need you.' A voice taunted.
'You're useless.'
'Idiot.'
'You couldn't even run after him?'
Your body shivered as the soft, dark voice inside you talked.
"(Y/N)!" Gray banged on the door once more. "Please...we can tell him- It's a misunderstanding!"
You didn't speak. Your voice was caught in your throat.
"I'm sorry!" Gray cried.
'No Gray...'
'It's not your fault, silly.'
___
More time passed. 'How long has it been? Four hours? Twelve?'
Your vision was dizzy, and you couldn't stand up. Nor did you want to try.
Gray had just left a while ago, leaving you alone. All by yourself.
Just the way you deserved it.
'I'm so...tired and hungry.'
Not once had Natsu come. Not once have you heard his voice from the door.
"Natsu..." You stared up at the ceiling of the bedroom. You didn't move from your spot by the door.
'I deserve to die.'
'I'm bei-'
"(Y/N)!" More banging came at your door. But this time. It was him.
Your spirits didn't rise.
"(Y/N)! Please- you've been in there for almost two days!"
You didn't move. 'So it's longer than...twelve hours?'
It got quiet.
"Gray told me what happened. He told me everything. But...(Y/N)...I just want you to come out."
"I'll get you anything you want." He continued.
'Just stop.'
You sat outside the open window. 'I don't want to listen to his pleads anymore.'
'But sneaking out the window...is a bit risky.'
"(Y/N)!"
'Oh shoot.'
You jumped from the window to the nearby tree branch.
But you slipped on the wet bark, and found yourself tumbling and tumbling down the many floors.
'...huh?'
___
Beep. Beep. Beep.
You were drifting in and out of sleep. "(Y/N)..." You heard Erza's voice.
But she seemed so far away.
"Erza."
Gray's voice.
"Did we lose her?"
...Lucy.
"No. Hang in there, (Y/N)-san."
'Thank you, Wendy.'
"(Y/N)." You could hear faint crying. 'Juvia...?'
Your consciousness faded once again, and darkness enveloped you.
___
Once again. Your sight was hazed, and you could see a stream of sunlight seeping in from the window.
Sobs.
'Lucas?'
You could hear his crying. His pain- you wished you could take away. His tears- you would do anything to make him stop.
But you also felt something warm covering your hand.
"Oh you idiot." Small mutterings could be heard.
'Its him. It's really him.'
"I can't believe you. I can't believe myself. It's so stupid."
'Natsu.'
"Lucas, stop crying..." His tired voice.
'I want to see you.'
You couldn't move.
You watched as a hand tugged at Lucas, pulling him up. His tear-streaked face kept dripping of tears, and he didn't resist Natsu.
Natsu hoisted him up against his chest, cradling him. "I-want...mommy." Lucas said, pushing Natsu away.
"She's busy." Natsu half-snapped at Lucas, rubbing his tired eyes.
'Oh...'
'Don't do that...don't talk so sharply...'
Your eyes fluttered open. Natsu and Lucas didn't notice, as they were already out the door.
Click.
The door closed.
"God dammit, Natsu." You croaked, your hand weakly hovering in the air.
Something sparkling caught your eyes. As you squinted, you could make out the bracelet Natsu was holding before.
'Oh...'
You set it back down by your side.
A few minutes later, the door opened again. This time, Gray walked in.
"(Y/N)?!" He yelped when he found your eyes staring at him.
"You're still so loud..." You winced, covering up your ears slightly.
"But you're awake!!"
"Yes genius." You laughed as he wouldn't stop gaping. "So what did I miss?"
"Nothing. Nothing. Lizabeth is prepping us up for Nova. That girl is strong."
"Good." You bluntly said. "But Natsu. Is he okay?"
"He's just a bit drifty. He sort of just wanders around now. That guy looks like a lost puppy." Gray said with a displeased look on his face.
You looked up at Gray. "And you?"
"What do you mean?" He looked at you with surprise.
"How are you doing?"
He sheepishly smiled. "I'm holding up fine. I'm not even half-attached to you as the others."
But you couldn't help noticing the small bags under his eyes. 'Gray...'
"Okay." You grin, still a bit tired.
"But you're up!" He said. "I'm going to go get the others."
"Wait, Gray. I'm just a little bit tired right now- okay?"
He stopped, and looked at you. "Of course." He took a seat by you.
"You know, (Y/N)." He started, a faraway look in his eyes.
"Natsu loves you a lot."
'Oh boy. Please don't lecture me.'
"I know." You smoothly replied. "And?"
"I'm just saying- He wouldn't cheat." Gray countered, his hands on your bed.
You took a sharp breath, slightly hurting your lungs. "If you're trying to make me forgive him..."
Gray shook his head. "It's not that, it's just..."
You waited for him to continue. But he never did.
"Alright," you sighed. "Then Lucy. What's up with Lucy?"
"Lucy's..." He hesitated, as if he was considering what to say.
"You know..."
"What. Can you please. Just spit it out!" You waved your arms.
He looked surprised.
"I used to love you...you know?"
