Chapter Thirty-Eight
I turned around to see who I had just flashed, my eyes widening when I saw who it was.
It was Teresa.
Of course it was! It was my just my luck for her to see me like this.
She was glaring at me in horror and disgust, her eyes trained on my hands that were holding my shoes, phone and leggings for dear life in front of my lower region area.
I wanted to say something but what could I say? It would be too cliché to say what I was thinking- 'it's not what it looks like!'- and I don't think she would believe me either.
Her eyes moved away from my body and landed on Alpha Alessandro. "How could you?" She screamed as she slammed the door behind her. I was thankful that she did that, I didn't want anyone else seeing me or hearing this.
"Teresa, calm down." Alpha Alessandro simply said not seeming too fazed by this.
"You told me what happened with her and Harlan and now you're...you're-" She seemed lost for words as her eyes flickered between the two of us.
Now would probably be a good time to leave Nala!
I placed my shoes on the ground and began to hastily put my pants on. She looked extremely pissed off and I didn't want to at the receiving end of her anger. Her anger was justified though, she had every right to be angry and despise me. She thought I killed her brother.
She also had every right to be angry with Alpha Alessandro too. From her point of view, her cousin is keeping her brother's killer alive and well but not only that, he's sleeping with her too. If I was in her position I would be fuming and all hell would break loose.
I wanted to clarify that part to her- the s*x part. I wanted her to know nothing happened between us and nothing will.
Lies, you were ready to drop your panties a few seconds ago! A voice inside me sniggered causing me to wince at that thought.
It was official, I was going crazy.
Teresa saw the face I made and her eyes grew wide. She turned back to Alpha Alessandro and pushed him. Though I could see she used a lot of force behind her push the Alpha barely moved. "How could you? You're disgusting!" She screamed as she pounded on his chest.
The Alpha looked down at her patiently allowing her to let out her rage and pain. While he may not be in any discomfort I knew if she attempted to inflict a tiny bit of that on me it would hurt a lot and I really didn't want to get hit so once my shoes were on I clasped my phone tightly and slowly tried to walk towards the door.
Clearly I wasn't as quiet as I was hoping to be because the Alpha and Teresa snapped their heads towards me.
Crap!
Unsure of what to say I stared back at them, swallowing harshly when Teresa dropped her hands from the Alpha's chest and began to advance towards me.
"Teresa." Alpha Alessandro warned as she continued to advance towards me. That did nothing to stop her and the Alpha didn't seem too concerned about my safety as he didn't try again to stop her.
I, on the other hand, cared about my safety and began to take a couple of steps back. It was like a game that we were playing, each time she took a step towards me, I took a step back. It wasn't long until I found myself backed up against the door.
I was an idiot, I allowed myself to be trapped. I should have ran when I got the chance, the Alpha could have distracted her or stopped her. Trying not to anger her even further, I kept my eyes low and made no noises.
"It's Nala, right?" Her tone of voice was the opposite of what I was expecting.
"Yeah?" My answer came out as a question as I stood there trying to understand why she wasn't attempting to attack me.
"Are you okay?"
Huh?!
Did she just ask me if I was okay? No, of course she didn't. I must have misheard her.
"Are you okay, Nala?" She repeated her question again, this time slower.
I didn't mishear her. What the hell?
"Uh yeah." I finally managed to splutter out after a couple of minutes of silence. I had to know what was going on so I took the risk and lifted my head up so I could see her.
Shock and confusion cascaded through every inch of me as I took in her expression. Her face was full of concern as if she was worried about a loved one and her eyes were swimming with pity.
No seriously, what the hell?
"Nala." She began to say, her voice soft and cautious. "Did Alessandro hurt you?"
My eyes immediately went over to Alpha Alessandro who was watching this exchange with a blank look. I had no idea what was going on and I had no idea if I should tell her the truth. He had hurt me multiples time but why did she want to know that? Why does she care?
"W-what do you mean?" I questioned as I pulled my eyes away from Alpha Alessandro.
"Why were you not wearing clothes? Did he force you?"
This time I wasn't the only one who had a reaction to her questions, Alpha Alessandro was outraged by the question she had just asked me.
"What the f*ck are you saying Teresa?" Alpha Alessandro snapped. "Have you lost your f*cking mind?"
Teresa turned on Alpha Alessandro. "What am I supposed to think? You told me that my b*stard brother r*ped a human and now the same human is here in your office with no clothes on looking petrified."
That's why she was angry when she came in she thought the Alpha was or had been s*xually abusing me. The fact that she cared, was horrified, and was trying to do something about it made me realise that she is nothing like her d*ckhead of a brother.
A big part of me didn't think Teresa would believe the 'event' I relayed to the Alpha, I thought she would doubt it, especially at first, or demand I provide evidence and proof. Why did she believe it so quickly?
Did she not contain any anger or hatred towards me for killing her brother? Or did she think my action was justified? Did she think he deserved to die for raping a human?
"Don't be ridiculous." Alpha Alessandro snarled. "I didn't force the human to do anything."
"She killed Harlan and you despise humans, I thought this was your way of punishing her."
Alpha Alessandro scoffed. "I hate humans why would I f*ck them?"
Excuse me? It was only a few minutes ago when you were humping me and asking if I wanted you to stick your d*ck inside me!
A sudden rush of discomfort began to bloom in my heart and I rubbed my chest discreetly to help ease the pain. The pain only flittered around for a few seconds before it dissipated.
"Leave human." Alpha Alessandro commanded, not even looking at me.
His words stung and the slight twinge of pain I felt just a second ago came back again. My hand immediately went back to my chest and I rubbed it to alleviate the pain. Why was I getting random chest pains? They seem to occur around the Alpha but that didn't mean anything, right? It was just a coincidence, there was no way his words and action could lead to physical pain.
"Why are you touching your chest?" Teresa suddenly questioned.
I guess I wasn't being as discreet as I thought I was. "It's nothing, it's just randomly hurting." I told her truthfully, removing my hand from my chest.
Her eyes narrowed before flickering back to Alpha Alessandro who for some reason was clenching his jaws. Her eyes widened and became bright like she had some sort of revelation.
"It makes sense now." She whispered, her eyes still going back and forth between the two of us.
What does? What was she talking about?
"Alessandro." She whispered again, this time her eyes weren't darting between us two it was fixated on the Alpha.
"Is she yours?"
