Kendra's POV•
"Great,everything is settled Ken"Jacob ended his call regarding me,i just nodded getting up
"Will you be kind enough and Get me a scissor"he takes one out of the drawer handing it to me"thanks i'll be out in a couple"i said closing the door behind me.
As i stared into the mirror every possible memory i have of her,either playing with my locks,or scolding me for not putting much effort into making them look presentable,i chuckled acknowledging that i looked more like homeless than attractive,but she still admired me whenever she had the chance. The way she'd sometimes hit me with them if i made her too shy,or possibly aroused by my actions.
My grip tightened on the sink before me,my emotions are out if order and i don't like it not one bit. I quickly dripped chunks of my hair and chopped them off. A new start means a new look.
Jacob gasped as i walked out of the bathroom"fireplace now"he lead me to the back of the house and i threw my hair into it,watching it mix with the aches of burnt wood. I needed to make sure any trace of me was nowhere to be found.
"You okay there"he asks bringing me out of my trance
I nod at him"we better get going if we wanted to set the record straight"i said calmly walking past him and he followed suit

A day after*
"Mother im aware they've filled you in on what i've done and decided,the police has a sketch but it looks nothing like me at least not bald headed. So don't stress up on it"i assured her since she was worried and against it, right when i got into her office
"Oh dear easier said than done"she says sipping her alcohol to ease her nervous
"It's already settled and done mom they have no records of me, so don't worry,i technically vanished for three years the hiding must come to an end"i held her hands in mine"you know what's keeping me alive still"
"Be more specific Kendra"she retorted
"It's you,her,and other individuals"she smiles at me
"You really do love her,don't you?"She asks sitting next to me
"I've never felt how i felt with anyone but her,and i really... miss her"i didn't notice my tears until she wiped them away caressing my cheek,i sighed managing a"thank you mom"
"Your my daughter id do the impossible for you,now don't keep them waiting"she said hugging me before pulling away as she sniffles
"Even though i don't say it quiet frequently,but I love you old lady"
"I love you more darling"she blows me a kiss and i walk out of her office and soon the building.

"Hey jess do me a favor and make them look else where"she's my favorite hacker slash helper i would've been dead a long time ago if it weren't for her watching over me.
"With pleasure ken"she replied in my ear and i watched their security cameras move somewhere else not catching my face,and i enter to their sergeant office
"Evening. Jonathan was it?"i said taking a seat before him
His forehead creased"who are you,how did you get in her,you cant barge in like you own the god damned place"his tone raised in annoyance so why not get him pissed off more
"Simple i walked in,to answer your first one im someone you better not meet again,for the sake of your worthless life,start choosing your words wisely Jon"i watched him as he shifted in his chair
He cleared his throat"how about you start with what you need Miss?"
"Nothing much you could provide,though i know you've been jumping around to catch a ghost for the past five years. Only to fail countless times"He sighs gritting his teeth with a flexed jaw
"Seven...seven years i've been after her"he corrects
"Keeping record! Good for you. See i don't like to enforce my orders but you will obey them,for the sake of those little angels of yours and the wife too. Just live your life Mr Edwards"i watched his face go through multiple emotions,fear,anger,worry,shock,and three more that looked more like scowls
"You and i know,that i can't ignore the burden of leaving such an animal living and breathing the same air as many innocent people"he said obliviously
"If im recalling correctly that animal did you'r job,that animal killed far more dangerous people,that you couldn't lay a finger on. I don't see the issue your pointing at"i caressed my chin waiting for his excuses
"I need to know she's dead,i need to do some good in this world"he said
"Don't act moral on me now,where were you'r morals when you accepted bribes and locked innocent people behind bars,Edwards"i stood up straightening my jacket"one of my contacts people found her god knows where,files are being downloaded to your computer as we speak"i check my wrist watch
"Thank you,whoever you might be"he said loosening his tie
"Oh no don't thank me yet,you got a lot coming your way,consider it as a favor from a concerned party, go get yourself a breather before the chaos begins"i finished,without sparing him another glance i walked out.

"That was cold you gave me goosebumps ken. Though were you being serious about the woman and his kids?"Jess sounded concerned in my ear
"Quit squabbling Jess you know i don't harm women to harm their kids,i love kids and id kill whoever hurts them,in any way"i replied getting inside the jeep and Jacob drives us to the next stop.
"Did you make sure there was nosy noses around the house?"i ask Jess looking at Jacob in the same time
"For fuck sake ken,get a fucking grip and get your woman"she yelled in my ear and Jacob glared at me
"Ugh,What if she already moved on and found someone? I cant just force me back into her life"i complained like the prior twenty minutes,it's getting late and i already delayed it two times.
"Kendra i swear to god if you don't get out i'll have to throw your ass out, she loves you,why are you questioning her loyalty this late,you could've done that before the last stop"Jacob scolded me and i just sighed my frustration
"Im worried of how she's going to react,it's been three fucking years god damn it"i blurted
"Babes don't over fry your brain about it,she LOVES you Kendra, believe me feelings such as it don't fade if they were real,plus i never saw someone suspicious entering her house other than you guys's people"Jess said making me knit my brows confused
"Im pretty sure we need to have a lil chat on that later"i breathed taking the ear piece out"thanks Jacob,im sorry for the trouble"i said giving his shoulder a light squeeze he smiles at me
"Go get her you deserve happiness after all of this nightmare"he chirped,and i got out of the car and waved him goodbye as he sped away in no time.

I stood there observing the house. It took me a couple of minutes to build back up my courage in place,to where i froze right at the door step,in a nanosecond before my knuckles hit the door it swung open.
My eyes met her icy blues.
Her stoic face dropped and all i could see was tears glistening her eyes,a lump graved it's way up resting in the middle of my throat,seeing her chest rise and fall rapidly,a single tear fell down her cheek
"Evelyn"i rasped as her eyes closed momentarily she walked back inside leaving me standing there,i breathed out locking the door behind me.
I see her sitting in the couch her head in her hands"she's not real stop hallucinating,FUCK Evelyn get a hold of yourself"she scolded herself gasping
I get on my knees before her"baby,i-im real look at me"i pleaded my eyes blurring,after a couple of minutes she looks at me sniffling,her beautiful face in a hue of red i wipe her tears
"Pinch me"she said and i did and she pinched herself to be certain
Her hands ran up and down my arms, to my neck and face,before her arms wrapped around me. Her warmth erupted a feeling a yearned for,i felt content as her scent wrapped me up,the sweet scent of lavender and a waft of honey welcomed me home.

An hour or so passed as she held me in place like i was about to disappear the moment she let go.
I wanted to look at her but she wouldn't loosen her grip"as much as i love it i can't breath babe"she lessened up but still held me close"where is she?"i asked
"I just tucked her in bed"Her voice was low more of a whisper to my ear"im grateful for my insomnia today"she sobs quietly and i managed to lift her bridal style to our room.
My feet kicked the door shut and i put her in bed"im just taking my jacket off"i slide it off of me"see im not going anywhere love"i get under the covers she quickly closes the distance nuzzling her face in the crook of my neck,i stroked her back reassuringly
Just a simple glance at her tired features made my heart ache,it hurts to see her like that,broken like before yet it was worse,she lost weight,she looked exhausted. I didn't want things to get this ugly. Yet it wasn't in my power to stop the storm from coming. I wish i was here to hold her. Tell her everything's going to be okay. Protect her from anything unpleasant. Though i was unconscious and bleeding somewhere.
"Kendra"she pulled me out of my trance as her soft hand caressed my cheek
"Yes beautiful"i smiled weakly
"Are you okay?..what happened to you talk to me please"her voice cracked as she held back the tears
"Don't worry my love i feel more than okay just by seeing the woman i love"i saw the tear roll down her cheek despite the dim lighting.
She brushed her fingers along my jaw and the back of my neck,her brows confusedly knitted"What have you done Kendra"she said seeing me stare at my hands briefly before i took the beanie off"wow,why did you-
I cut her off"one for a fresh start...you don't like it?"i babbled rubbing my ear lobe
She smiles"I don't hate it,though i'll miss their help"i perked a brow
"Wow abusive much"my words earned me a nice smack on the arm
Her hand stroked my bald head"what took you so long Kendra,i almost lost hope of seeing you again,everyday felt like an endless rollercoaster. We missed you"her warm hands cupped my face as her eyes held my gaze
"I missed you too. Im so sorry for putting you through all of this. D-do you still want to be with me,despite what I am?"i said and her brows twitched lightly before she sighed leaning in and capturing our lips together in a tender kiss.
"Doe's this one answer your question?"she mumbled softly"i love you no matter what or who you are,because i know you are the most kind hearted,most considerate, spontaneous woman i so happen to love. I never was eager to be with anyone other than you Kendra. Despite that i didn't see it soon"she pointed out
I kissed her palm pulling her onto my lap"you really are the one who makes me all of that,your the one who brings out the best of me,Evelyn."
She wrapped her arms around me and i nuzzled my face in her neck relishing her beautiful scent,as our body's laid on the bed. Her fingers stroking my head calmly and my hand caressed her side
Everything felt different,we both were on edge yearning for each other. The exhaustion of the day had the strength out of us. I contently closed my eyes holding her in my arms as the night folded the day to an end.
