Later that day when we landed on the planet to find the bandits, I kept a close eye out for trouble, still thinking about the girl from my dreams.
Rocket: Hey! Blake! Where's your head at, man?
I snapped out of my thoughts.
Blake: Sorry, Rocket. I can't help but still think about that mysterious girl.
Quill: Sounds to me that you could've had a lover.
Blake: Dude.
That got me steamed.
Blake: I ought to ask Gamora to knock some sense into you.
Drax: What are you so ashamed about?
Blake: Look. I don't want to talk about this. It was probably just a dream.
I looked over at the markets and saw a techno armored figure. Looking at me.
Blake: Well, that's fishy.
I muttered.
Quill: What was that?
Blake: Nothing.
The figure went behind a tent and vanished.
Later that night
Gamora: We've searched the whole place. There's no one.
I blurted out.
Blake: There was a mysterious person earlier.
Gamora: What?
Rocket: You're telling us now?
Blake: He didn't seem to be attacking or stealing so I didn't think that it was important.
Drax: What made him mysterious?
Blake: He was wearing some kind of techno armor. And he was kind of staring at me. It was kind of creepy.
Quill: Ok. That's enough. Blake. You're beginning to worry me with the way you've been acting today. I'm going to have to ask you to-
There was an explosion.
"EVERYONE DOWN!"
Gamora: Peter?
Quill: Yep. That's them. Gotta be them. Blake, never mind. You're staying.
I got my rifle saber out. It was a weapon that turned from a rifle to a saber if I turn the blade peice in the opposite side of the handle.
Rocket: Time to get some bad guys.
Readying his weapon. Luckily, Baby Groot was able to walk on legs so we didn't have to worry about dropping him accidentally.
We attacked the bandits. They had guns and explosives of their own. I was fighting one of them when the armored figure showed up again. Except it was flying.
Towards me?
I looked closely and all of a sudden, it grabbed me and flew away with me.
Quill: Blake!
Quill yelled when he saw me getting captured.
Hopefully, they'll have a plan to save me.
We landed on a mountain and the figure threw me down. I landed on my back. And groaned in pain.
Blake: Today just isn't my day.
I looked up and the figure was standing there. Menacingly.
Blake: AHH!
I was scared. And pleading for my life.
Blake: Please don't kill me.
It said nothing.
Then, I had an idea. I shot at it.
The shots did some damage. I guess the armor wasn't that strong. He explained in pain. Except, it turned out to be a woman.
"Ow! You idiot! What is wrong with you?!"
I was surprised.
Blake: You're a girl?
"Yes, I'm a girl! What'd you think?!"
She sounded really upset and pouty.
Blake: Well, I'm sorry but I didn't really appreciate you kidnapping me.
She clicked a button on her wrist and her armor evaporated and went into the wrist watch.
What surprised me ever more was that
She actually looked like me.
"I was saving your life."
Blake: Saving my life? I had those guys!
"Really? They looked like they were about to kill you."
"Cheeky little thing, I'll give her that"
I thought
"I would've survived. I've got teammates. They would've had my back."
"Boys."
She scoffed.
"You always have to act tough. You think you got everything."
"Hey. Sometimes I don't always had everything. We all need help from time to time."
I admitted.
"I don't."
She said with pride.
"I don't need anyone's help."
"I'm sure that you do need help."
"I've never asked for anyone's help."
"Really? No one at all?"
"Yeah. No one at all."
Blake: Wait a minute.
I thought. I recognized her.
Blake: Zoe?
She looked at me with curiosity.
Zoe: How do you know my name?
Blake: You're the girl from my dream, aren't you? The one who Nova Corps found?
She grunted with disgust.
Zoe: Don't even remind me of the Kyln.
It all came back to me, now.
Blake: We knew each other before, didn't we? As kids, before the planet was destroyed?
She looked at me and smiled.
Zoe: I was afraid you'd forget. Blake.
I came up to embrace her in a hug, when she punched me in the nose.
Blake: Ow! Ok, seriously, girl! I'm beginning to not like your customs.
Zoe: Where have you been?! I've been looking everywhere for you!
Blake: I'm sorry but I didn't think anyone survived.
Zoe: I did. Before the planet blew up, the Chitauri held me captive. I stowed away on an escape pod and searched for you. I got arrested and sent to the Kyln for some trouble earlier. I escaped and they never found me again.
Blake: Trouble?
She paused.
Zoe: I stole a ship. The escape pod was worn down.
Blake: Oh. How'd you find me?
Zoe: There wasn't a day in my life that I new there was a feeling that I'd find you again. And that feeling led me here.
I was touched. A girl who searched for me.
Blake: I never should've left you there.
I cried and she embraced me in a hug.
Zoe: It's okay.
We stood there. Until we heard a booming sound. And all of a sudden, the Milano showed up.
Rocket: Alright, kidnapper!
Rocket boomed through the speakers.
Rocket: Hand over our companion or we'll blast you to smithereens!
Zoe: Uh, companions?
Blake: Hang on.
Quill: Woah. Rocket. No. We're not doing that again.
Blake: Quill!
I yelled.
Blake: I'm fine! I can explain everything!
Later
Zoe came aboard the ship. We explained everything.
Gamora: You're the one from the Kyln?
Zoe: Yes.
Quill: I don't believe it. So you been searching for Blake all your life?
Zoe: Yes.
Rocket: Why would you kidnap him?
Zoe: I was saving his life.
Rocket: That's a weird way of doing it.
Blake: You should know Mr. Hadron Enforcer.
Groot laughed.
Rocket: Can we not speak of this again?
Drax: Is it true that Wolzarians eat their young?
Quill: Drax! Seriously?
Gamora: What is wrong with you?
Zoe: That's just a crude fiction.
Blake: How is that even related?
Drax: Out of curiosity.
Blake: I'm just scared to imagine what else comes out of your curiosity.
Zoe: Are they always like this?
Blake: You have no idea.
Later on
I explained to Zoe how I was stranded on a planet. How I met Yondu, Quill, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax. She was a bit surprised in hearing that Groot used to be taller. I told her about my adventures. How we found the Stone, went to the Kyln, went Knowhere, and saved the galaxy from Ronan.
Zoe: So what do you do now?
Blake: Go around doing missions. Helping people.
Then I got an idea.
Blake: Would you like to be a part of that?
Zoe: Helping people?
Blake: Would you like to be a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy?
She thought about it.
Zoe: I would love nothing more.
