I chuckled at some irrelivent joke Justin made as we walked down the sidewalk, hand in hand as paps and fans followed close behind.
We’ve only been dating for almost 3 month now and we aren’t really as close as I’d like to be, I’m presuming that the short length of our relationship so far is the reason why.
We finally magaged to reach the studio without to much of a fuss. Justin turned to wave goodbye to the fans and completely ignored the paps.
He pulled me inside and as soon as we turn the corner and were out of sight, he let go of my hand and shoved his own into his pockets.
I grew confused as he walked in a faster pace instead of walking with me.O…Kay. He was fine just a second ago, what’s wrong now?
We walked into the recording studio and I took a seat as Justin and his crew instantly got working. Justin read over the lyrics again as the crew set everything up.
"Okay, Justin." Fredo called Justin over to begin recording the song.
I was pretty excited because I never heard it before, he liked to keep his music on the down low so few people only knew about it before it’s released. This one he’s about to record is said to be his next single.
Justin walked in and put on his headphones. He waited for the beat to kick in and began to sing the lyrics.
The song started of beautifully as he sung about the girl he deeply loved but broke her heart. He sung about wanting her back, about how the other girl he was with meant nothing to him. Once he got more into the song, I learned the name was ‘The One I Truly Love’.
He filled the lyrics with pure emotion, with love and sincerity as he began to sing about the other girl, that she was just a distraction from the heartbreak, that he can’t focus on her because the one he truly loves was always on his mind.
Then it hit me.
The girl he truly loved was Selena…and I was the distraction.
I sat there and continued to listen as he began to sing about how I was nothing compared to Selena, how my laugh and my smile wasn’t as beautiful, how my eyes didn’t shine like hers did.
It all began to make perfect sence. How he only payed proper attention to me when we were in public, how he barley talkes to me, how he ignores me half of the time.
I looked around to see the crew looking my way, sinking in what my reaction might be. I looked over at Fredo who gave me a weak smile, guilt smeared all over his face.
I looked to see that Justin had finished up in the booth and walked out. His gaze met mine as he closed the door behind him.
I looked towards the ground not begging able to handle his stare.
He could he do this to me? Was that all I was to him? A distraction? A way of getting his ex jealous so he could get her back?
"Hey…" Justin murmured as he took my chin in between his finger and thumb to tilt my head up.
"Don’t." I shied away from his touch as my tears began to surface.
"I’m sorry." He said as he took a step back.
"No you’re not. If you were, you wouldn’t have used me in the first place." I argued as I failed to hold back a tear.
"Please…I’m so sorry." Justin pleaded.
I scoffed as I wiped away the fallen tear and faught to keep the rest back. I won’t give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
"Hear me out. Please." He tried again as I got up from my seat.
"I think that song actually pretty much explained everything." I said as I grabbed my bag.
"No I-" He tried to cover it up but failed because he knew that it was true.
"See. You don’t care, you never did." I pointed out as I threw my bag over my shoulder.
"I do care." He said making it even harder for me to hold back tears.
"Then why’d you play me like that? Why’d you think it would be okay if you crushed me down into nothing whist you got all the satisfaction?" I question.
Justin looked away as he was too ashamed to look me in the eye. He tried to string together something to say but he couldn’t.
"I’m leaving. If you want Selena back you’re going to have to do it yourself." I said as I made my way out of the studio and back home.
