Vermillion didn't like the idea of her soulmate being a Pomefiore student. They were just too... flashy for her taste. She hadn't spoken to her soulmate even after being accepted into Night Raven College. Sigyn, however, didn't like that and gave her some eyeliner.
"At least try to talk with them, Vermillion. They could want you to speak with them."
Vermillion uncapped the eyeliner and started to write on her skin.
Hello, soulmate. Sorry I haven't contacted you in forever. I was just nervous and didn't know if you wanted to talk in the first place.
Vermillion capped the eyeliner before going to scold Grim while her mother watched in amusement.
Afterwards, she glanced down at her skin to find that her soulmate had replied.
That's quite alright darling. Many people are nervous when they first wish to speak to their soulmate. Also, I would've loved to be in contact with someone like you. I bet you're beautiful.
Vermillion flushed before uncapping her eyeliner and writing her response.

Vermillion waited until her soulmate replied.
No problem darling. Now please go to bed. You need your rest.
Vermillion snorted.
Fine, fine. Goodnight, soulmate.
A swift reply made her smile.
I hope you have a good night as well, soulmate.
Vermillion merely smiled at the sweet message. Maybe she'd like her soulmate.

Vermillion was back to writing on her skin.
How's your winter going?
Vermillion waited until she got her reply.
My winter is going perfectly well. I must confess that I miss being on school grounds though. Oh, I just realized. In all the time we've chatted, we have had yet to exchange names. How rude. I guess it can't be helped, as we have both probably been insanely busy as of late.
Vermillion hummed. That was true, they hadn't exchanged names yet.
I have been rather busy. I just wonder if we both know each other.
Vermillion knew it was probably by a long shot. The reply was also suggesting the same thing.
Probably not. Then again I go to an all boy's school.

Vermillion chuckled to herself. This was fun.

"Roi de Poison, is something the matter? You keep rubbing your temples and grumbling."
Vil rolled his eyes at Rook's question. "My soulmate was up at 3 in the morning last night. They asked me a bunch of philosophical questions. Is this what runs through their mind everyday?"
Rook took a look at Vil's arm and chuckled. Vermillion looked up at the two. Vil's soulmate was up at 3 am? Interesting. She was up at 3 am. Could Vil be...?
Vermillion shook her head. It was probably just a coincidence. Besides, Vermillion had other things to worry about.

Do you think we should introduce ourselves now?-Vermillion started it.
It would seem rude if we didn't.

Very well. My name is Vil Schoenheit.
Vermillion felt her heart fall. Vil Schoenheit. Of course. Who else could it have been? The way he had written, the all boy's school thing. Vermillion sighed.
Vermillion is my name.

Yes, Vil?
Lunalupus' prefect?
The very same.
That means we know each other.
Indeed.
Silence on both ends. Vermillion felt her heart plummet. She must've not been the one he was hoping for as a soulmate. Wait, why was her heart plummeting?! She should feel thrilled! She then felt more writing on her skin.
We'll discuss what next after the tournament. How about the ballroom of my dorm?
Alright, sounds like a plan Vil. I'll be waiting there.

Vermillion was pacing the floor of the ballroom until her ears picked up on footsteps. One quick whiff of the air and Vermillion was turning to meet Vil's eyes.
Vil had clearly gotten away quick judging by the sweat on his features. He was still in his gym uniform as he shut the door to the ballroom and made his way to her. "You're here."
Vermillion nodded. Vil reached over and took her hands in his. "What happens next is up to you. I, personally, would not mind continuing this relationship as lovers. But, you are also a fraction to the equation, and therefore, your opinion also matters."
Vermillion hummed as she mulled it over. It took a while, but she finally replied. "I would love it if you called me yours, Vil. I accept your proposal. Let's continue this relationship as lovers."
"Very well. It seems our wishes are aligned."
"So they seem."
Vil then hoisted her up by her waist as she put her arms around his neck. The two eyed each other as though wondering who would react first, which boundaries were okay to cross, etc.
Vil was the one who connected their lips.
Vermillion hummed as she leaned into the pleasant sensation. She had never been kissed, and she had never been kissed so sweetly like this.
Vermillion's ear suddenly twitched. The door swung open and she opened an eye to see Riddle there. His cheeks turned red upon realizing what was going on.
Vermillion felt Vil pull away. He turned his head to the flustered Riddle. "Riddle, why did you interrupt me and my soulmate? Is there something of concern that I should be worried about?"
Riddle was probably embarrassed that he had caught the two together. "The headmaster was looking for you two. Head back to the festival."
Vermillion only groaned as Riddle left. Vil still had yet to put her down. "Shall we?"
Vermillion nodded. "Yeah yeah, just put me down and we'll head that way."
"Apologies, but I do not wish to let you go. I'll carry you."
"Vil, put me down or I swear-"
The two continued the bickering, even as they arrived where the rest were waiting for them.
This was certainly going to be a story to tell their children.
