I woke up to a letter on my bed side cabinet.
Good morning Y/N.
Please meet me at the Black lake at 9pm.
Bring a coat it's cold.
I know what your thinking. Why the hell is she writing to me after everything.
But please Y/N, I really need to talk to you.
- Angelina.
I looked at the letter in complete confusion. The girl who had been awful to me from the day I stepped foot in the school, wanted to meet me down at the Black Lake to talk. For what? A catch-up.
As quick as I could I got ready and checked the time. 8:50.
I knew the boys would be in soon, so I quickly scribbled down a note and left it on my bed.
Gone for a walk.
- Y/N.
I head down to the black lake. The sun shining onto my back as I walked. The grounds were really pretty in a morning, I remember my early morning runs with Oliver as we got ourselves fit for practise. We may not be related by blood, but there was no doubt in which we were related. We may as well be, both the high level of stubbornness we don't like to admit to.
I walk along the rocky path, enjoying the change in weather, and to my surprise, Angelina sits their alone. Completely alone. No trick, no plan to murder me, nothing. If anything, she just seemed nervous. As I approached, I sat down at the side of her, not speaking a word, only looking out towards the lake. I could feel her watching me, but I just continued to stare. She invited me, she can make the first move.
"First of all, I wanted to apologise. One being, I know mornings aren't your thing." I let out a snigger at her first words, "two, I'm a complete bitch for actually telling you this. That and for agreeing to go to the ball knowing just how much you like him. You see the thing is. I don't think I'm straight Y/N, I think I'm fully gay. And you see, I chose to use the twins as a distraction, a distraction from reality. I know it's selfish, but I didn't know what else to do. The only person in the school who I like, wouldn't say yes, because as far as I know, their straight. So when Fred asked, it was just so easy to say yes. I've been a complete bitch. A selfish fucking bitch, I was awful to you. I thought you were trying to steal my thunder, and it was just easier to pretend to hate you. B the thing is Y/N, I don't hate you. I don't fucking hate you at all, quite the opposite really."
The realisation had kicked in. Angelina liked girls, she couldn't admit her feelings, so it was just easier to hate them. Angelina likes me!
"Oh Angie. Of course I forgive you." I hug her. She hugs me back, "thank you Y/N. I'm guessing you got to what I was hinting at. And I'm pretty sure your straight so can we call it friends?" She asks.
"Course we can." I pull her in for another hug and we start to talk together.
I tell her all about my date with Charlie, and how she can still go with Fred, under the condition that she saves me a dance, and tells Fred how she really feel. If he liked her, there was no way I'm going to let him have his heart broken, it's not fair. So that's what she agreed to, and now we were friends.
"Hey Angie." I said.
"Yeah Y/N." She relied.
"Tomorrow, me Gin and Mione are going to find out dresses in Hogsemede, do you maybe wanna come?" I asked.
Her face lit up in pure excitement, "Y/N, I'd love to! Meet me by the carriages at 10 tomorrow morning?"
"Course."
And with that. We began to walk up towards the castle, meeting the boys in the common room. Angelina instantly laid off Fred a little, knowing that it wasn't her place, which I was really grateful for. Freddie seemed both relieved and confused when we walked in holding hands and Angie didn't bother him.
"Later Y/N, I'll meet you tomorrow." Angie said hugging me one last time.
"Bye Angie."
I sat down on the common room couch with the boys that looked to me as if waiting for me to say something. "What?"
"What do you mean what? What was that about? You and Angelina? You hate eachother?" Lee said before the other two could even get a word out.
"We've had a little chat, that's all." I reply.
"Do tell." George said.
"Nah, I'm good. You'll find out eventually. For now, let's go get some breakfast. Oh and we are going to find our dresses for the ball tomorrow, so you all can't come." I say, receiving a few sighs of 'fine'.
———
Time skip: tomorrow morning.
"Hey Angie." Me, Ginny and Hermione has just met Angie, who was as promised waiting at the carriages for us. I walked over and quickly pulled the girl into a hug.
"Hey girls. You ready?" She said excitedly.
"Born ready." I laugh.
We arrived at a small shop, led by Hermione. Ginny had just come for moral support as she had been sent a pink and green dress by Mrs Weasley. She said that she liked it, but I could tell it wasn't what she'd hoped. Hopefully I can do something about that.
"So what colour you thinking Angie?" I asked, the dark haired girl.
"I'm thinking maybe a yellow. A bright sunshine colour, I don't know why, I'm just fancying it. How about you?" She replied.
"I don't really care. I don't wanna go in the first place." I laugh.
"Come on Y/N, we are going to pick you the perfect dress!" She encourages.
The shop was small but filled with some of the prettiest dresses I'd ever seen.
"Hello dears." An old lady with curly grey hair and red glasses came around from the back of the shop, greeting Angelina with a hug. She gave a kind warm hearted smile as we said hello.
"Hello madam. So as you've probably heard, the ball is coming up soon. Any gorgeous dresses we might be able to try on?" Angie asked. I'm guessing they knew each other.
"Course dear. You know where the best ones are. Feel free to try on any you like, and if there's any problems, just let me know." She said happily, returning back to the shop counter.
"Oh my god!" Ginny yelled. "How lovely is this one!" She held up an emerald green dress that flowed outwards from the waist down. It would be perfect for her.
"It's gorgeous Gin. You should try it on." I encouraged.
"No I've already got my dress remember?" She said sighing.
"It can't help to try it on." I said.
A giddy look appeared on her face as she rushed into the small changing room.
When she returned, she was beaming. Full of excitement, and she looked absolutely stunning. I knew that I had to buy it for her, but I may as well keep it a surprise.
Mione and Angie both found their dresses; Angie a bright sunshine yellow, and Hermione's a light blush pink shade. Both girls looked really good.
"Y/N, your turn." Hermione said.
"I'm not really liking anything so far." I admit with a sigh, "I mean, they're all gorgeous but none of them call out to me."
Angie excused herself and Hermione turned to me, "Y/N. We are both going to look stunning next week! We need to show these boys exactly what they are missing, and they're going to come crying to us for forgiveness, so we're going to find you the hottest, sexiest, prettiest dress, whether it takes us all night or not."
I gulped, she really was determined.
"Hello, dearie. I think I might have just what your looking for." The old woman had returned, Angie close behind, and handed me a zip locked bag. I quickly take it into the changing rooms and zip it down.
It was absolutely perfect. A red, fitted dress, exposing a middle v-line and leg slit, hung on the hanger. It was the definition of fire, and I was loving it. I quickly slipped it on me, looking at myself in the mirror.
This is the one! The one that I'm getting! When I'd lost all hope, it came to me. But I'm going to take it as a surprise. So therefore, I quickly got changed again and put it back in its bag, careful to zip it slowly, so no fabric got caught.
I wasn't going to show anyone, until the night. I already knew that I had the perfect set of red heels in my cupboard in my room, so I didn't need to worry about anything else, I had everything I needed.
I step out of the cubicle to see the girls looking at me, waiting. They shot me a disapproving look at me not even showing it them.
"Before you say anything. I'm not showing it you because it's the one! I'm getting it! And I wanna keep it a surprise."
They groaned but nodded, just thankful that I'd picked a dress.
"Oh look! There's the boys. Go catch them up, I'll meet you in a few once I've payed for this." I said, noticing Lee, Fred and George outside. They nodded quickly before stopping the boys in their tracks. Great! Now I can grab Ginny's dress.
I handed the woman behind the counter both dresses and she smiled at me, "I knew you'd like this one. You know, your very much like your dad. Y/N Black."
"What?" I was shocked, no one knew about my dad, no one. "You. You know?"
"Yes. And your very much like him. A great man he is. Smart, caring and treated his family and friends like they were his world. It seems you've picked up many of your traits from him. Hopefully not all though," she laughed, "I can still remember his little trips to Hogsmede. And of course his regular pranks, sneaking around Hogsmede when class wasn't even on. I still have no idea how those four managed to get out. Your nothing like that though surely, are you dear?"
I pouted which gave her my answer, which she laughed in response to.
She handed me a sealed bag, that had a shrinking charm on it, and i bidded her goodbye and thank you.
We joined the boys in the cold air outside.
"What's in the bag?" Fred asked, indicating to what was in my hand.
"Oh it's my dress."
"Let me see then." He said, pulling it away from me.
I was quick to snatch it back, as I shot him a glare, making him gulp, "I'm keeping it a secret. Guess you'll just have to see on the night."
I threw him a wink, leaving him flustered and headed to catch up with the rest of the group.
"Y/N when I said make him jealous I mean it! Me and you! Fred and Ron are going to scream on the inside." Hermione whispered in my ear. I rolled my eyes and slung a hand over the girls shoulder.
As we were walking back up to the castle I could hear Angelina and Fred behind me. I guess it's the time she has chosen to tell him. I wasn't going to have her lead him on any longer.
"Fred I was hoping I could talk to you." She said.
"Shoot." He responded, not even looking in her direction.
"Well. I was just wondering if you knew we were going to the Yule Ball as friends? I don't want to lead you on and I've kind of got my eye on someone else." She admitted.
Fred laughed, "of course Angelina. It would be wrong for me as well, as I like someone else."
I can see the smirk on Angelinas face from the corner of my eye. "And who is this lucky person?"
"Nope. Not happening." He laughed, "but you've got to tell me the lucky guy who you like."
"Oh that's the thing Fred. It's erm. It's not a guy. I'm gay." She said quickly.
You could tell Fred was shocked at the sudden news, but he obviously didn't at all care.
"Whose the lucky girl then?"
"Erm well Y/N."

Hi all! Hope you like this chapter. I'm going to show the dresses in the Yule Ball preparation scene, which is next!
I really like the fact that Angie and Y/N are now friends. I think it will be nice for her to have a girl her age she can speak to.
Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I had a migraine so didn't get the chance to write. But to make up for it, I might release another chapter tonight.
Thanks for all the support.
We've actually hit 3k reads and I can't believe it.
Stay safe!
