Blake's P.O.V
My planet was a paradise. We lived in peace and harmony. Plenty of food, water, and many beautiful things to see.
Yep, that's me. I'm Blake Slader. My friends call me Slade, but we'll get to that part later. Because this is a story of how my planet was invaded.
How I was put into an escape pod.
And how my planet was
Sadly destroyed.
I was so young. And so not ready to move to a new planet.
Or survive on my own.
It wasn't too long until I got in soo much trouble for living in back alleys, and stealing food.
I thought I was done for.
Until
He showed up. A blue man with an electric red mohawk (or some kind of device) in a brown leather duster, with whiskers on his chin, and an almost sweet smile on his face. (It would have been except for the fact that they were disgusting and gold looking.)
I ran away. But then I heard him say something in an almost country like accent.
"Hey! Leave that little cub alone! You're scaring him!"
"But he stole from me!"
Then he said to the angry man in a menacing tone.
"He could've been hungry. He probably doesn't have any money to pay for it. And you're gonna harm him, an innocent looking little cub?"
"Fine! But he needs to pay next time!"
He looked at me and kneeled down to my height.
"Hey little feller. You gotta name?"
I hesitated a bit but I got out
"Blake Slader."
The man next to him whistled and said
"That sounds like a name everyone should be afraid of."
"Where's your home?"
"My planet was destroyed. My family with it."
"Gee, kid I'm really sorry to hear that. You need someone to look after you."
"How bout you join my gang? We gotta fine spot for fearsome thieves like you."
I thought about it
Being a thief?
A fighter?
Hanging with the rough guys?
These guys are speaking my language!
I nodded "yes".
"He's in, captain."
He put he on his shoulder.
"Imma gonna call you "Slade"! How bout that?"
"What can I call you?"
"Name's Yondu. And this Kraglin, my second in command."
"Boy, you're gonna make a fine part in our gang."
