FINCH ANGRILY swatted at the gnats surrounding her, the incessant buzzing making her scowl as she trampled after her two friends. Elena and Caroline walked ahead of her, the doppelganger holding a bag in one of her hands,

"Tell everyone I wasn't feeling well and I went home from school." The brunette instructed Caroline as they walked

Caroline scowled, "I can't believe I'm agreeing to this. I'm a terrible liar." She states, throwing up her hands

"And keep Stefan busy. I don't want him to know what I'm up to." Elena continued, making Finch frown

"I don't like keeping things from Stefan." The witch objected,

"I'm even worse at duplicity and you know this." The blonde vamprie added as Elena shot Finch a look

"You managed to keep me occupied when Katherine paid Stefan a visit." The human reminded her friend

Caroline scoffed, "Yeah, because she threatened me. Not that I'm saying that you should use that as a tactic, it's...Stefan's gonna see right through me."

"And me!" Finch added, "He can read me like an open book, Elena!"

"Then you'll stay with me." Elena said to her inky haired friend, before looking to the blonde, "Caroline, as my friend, do you promise or not?"

"You had to break out the girlfriend code. Okay. I promise."

Elena nods, pleased, "Okay."

"Why don't you want Stefan to know?" Finch asks, raising her arms to the her raven hair back out of her face

"Because he would never be okay with me doing this."

"Fair enough." The witch mumbles as they travel below the church ruins, stopping in front of the town's door

Caroline hesitates and glances to her friend, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes, I'm sure. She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. The only one who can tell me how to stop him." The human stated, her stubborn mind made up

"Well, I'm still against trusting anything Rose has to say." Finch hummed, crossing her arms

Caroline nods at the Fletcher girl, "But you're asking for the truth from someone who's probably never giving it. Are you sure about this?"

"Yeah. I can't just sit back and wait. I have to know, Caroline. Please."

Caroline sighs, before going towards the door and opens it,

"Katherine?" Elena calls out before looking to Caroline, "We'll be okay from here."

The blonde looks to Finch who gives her a reassuring nod as a noise erupts from in front of them, dragging her attention back to the tomb
