Chapter Eighteen: Troubleshooting & Problems

About about only three days after Braedey had left SHIELD, Linx, Shawn, Hawk, Kieron, Shinobu, and even Asuka were all now working together to try and find any incriminating evidence or anything of the sort to see what's going on behind the scenes. Hawk got them all some James Bond-esque gadgets and functions, so they could be discreet and silent when doing their little 'spy' operations.

So far, they have been doing what they can to get any or some evidence, it was a bit of a trying time. They did not seem to get much information regarding anything that could be incriminating. Asuka was not pleased, only for Hawk to reassure her they'll find something. All the while, Shawn and Linx have been trying to get a call to Braedey, but to no avail. He was either ignoring their calls, or he had them blocked. It was frustrating for them.

However, they would have to wait to continue their plans, when one stormy and dark evening, the long-range scanners have picked up on another Demon, one fast approaching the city, and it was on the hunt. At once, everyone got into gear, and began to prepare for the incoming attack and the evacuation of people and shelters.

"All personnel, condition one battle stations!" Morato ordered at once, James sitting in his chair.

"Target status?" Ritsuko asked to Hyuga.

"Currently advancing. Defence line Delta has been breached." Hyuga informed to them.

Suddenly, a powerful shockwave strikes the area of Manhattan-2.0, no thanks to the Demon's immense power and strength, and from scans and warnings, the blast had managed to pierce right through 12 layers of specialised armour plating protecting Manhattan-2.0 from external forces and weaponry.

"Armour belts 1-12 destroyed!" One technician called out.

"Twelve layers of special armour plating, gone in an instant...!" Hyuga said in shock and amazement.

Matilda soon ran up into the command centre, having been informed of what's going on. "It's too late for a Jaeger intercept on the surface! Station Jaeger Eva inside the Geo-front! Task it to HQ facility point defence!" She ordered at once. "Have Asuka open fire the instant it makes it inside!"

At once, Jaeger Eva was launched up the platform tubes to the Geofront area. At the same time, Crimson Dynamo and JetBlackStar were getting ready and now being prepared to launch up the tubes.

"Jaeger Giant's status?" Matilda asked.

"Stationed at the neutralisation point." Ritsuko informed to her. "But the reactor is still undergoing maintenance."

"So it can't fight..." Matilda sighed.

"Send Amy out in Jaeger Prime." James ordered at once, the others looking over to him. "Prepare the Remote Control Link as a backup."

"Yes, sir." Matilda acknowledged.

Sure enough, Amy was now hooked into the harness of the Conn-Pod, ready to activate the Neural Handshake between her and Jaeger Prime. Sure enough, the amber-yellow fluid started to fill the Conn-Pod. Amy didn't react to this, as the fluid engulfed her.

"Start entry sequence." Dr. Ritsuko announced, as the technicians began to work on the systems.

"Ionising LCL. Initiate A10 nerve connection." Maya added in.

Next, the LCL fluid became electrolysed, allowing Amy to finally see again. Then, bright lights appeared on the walls, creating the interface. After that, the lights all faded, but before the Neural Handshake was complete, everything went red, and Amy felt the fluids were now against her, making her cover her mouth with a groan, almost vomiting at what was going on.
