I awaken to the light coming in through the blinds i turn realising this isn't my bed this isn't even a bed it's a couch and it's not mine it's leather I turn around meeting barneys eyes he stretches and looks at me I stare back at him in shock "did we? No..no shit no what" I start to panic looking around yep..I'm in barneys apartment sleeping with him on his couch
I lay there with barney both of us staring at the ceiling blankly I sit up looking down at barney "does this Mean anything Or is this just another one of your pointless hook ups?" I change into my clothes and curl my hair as barney puts on another suit and tie I smile round at him I still shaken a little from awakening about a hour ago, barney passes me a coffee I take a sip of the hot brown liquid it hits my lip it's bitter no milk,cream or sugar I like it. Barney watches on as I finish my sip I put the mug down "okay so we have to show up at teds for Christmas dinner act causal or lily will know something is up" I nod in agreement grabbing my bag opening the door

The table cloth is soft Cotten soft with a snowflake pattern the plates sparking white as lily plates up the food onto everyone's plates barney sitting opposite me I watch as he takes a sip of his drink we make eye contact I look back down, as lily sits down everyone's food on there plates.
Robin is laughing with lily about something I don't remember what it was I was just stuck in my own thoughts "Crystal I couldn't help but notice you arrived with barney did you meet in the street or?" I look over at barney and nod "yeah I texted barney to meet me at maclarens practically dragged him over here" I say with a weak laugh lily nods smiling my heart racing I clear my throat and go up to the toilet
