"And this is my room."
Draco opened the door to a room that screams Slytherin. All you can see are black, silver and emerald green.

"Cute. You decorated yourself?"

I begin to explore around his room, lifting up a picture frame of Draco when he was younger, "Aw, you looked so cute.. what happened?"

He snatched the frame from my hands and placed it back where it was.

I chuckle at his reaction, "I was just joking. Stop being so serious all the time."

At this point, I've already walked around half of his room and Draco is still awkwardly standing in his doorframe.

"Are you just gonna stand there?" I flip through a book I took out of his bookshelf.

He scoffs at my question and unbuttons the top button of his jacket so that he can sit comfortably on his bed.

"So your father is a death eater?" I ask, continuing to look through his bookshelf.

I see his head perk up, "I'm guessing yours is too."

"What else 'business matters' would they be referring to? I'm sure it's not things related to the Ministry," I grin as I see a romance novel hidden in plain sight but try my best to hide my reaction.

"Draco, why am I here?" I ask curiously.

Draco climbs further back into his bed so that his head is leaning on the wall behind him, "Beats me. They've set up dinners before with lots of other families too. Even the Parkinson's came over once."

"Great..." I say sarcastically.
I plop down on the edge of his bed.

"What do you think you're doing?" Draco sits up straight, moving his legs away from me.

"Relax. My heels are just killing me right now," I move the fabric of my dress so that I can access my heels from the slit on it's side.
I fly my heels away from me as I wiggle my perfectly cute pedicured toes, "...much better."

I hear him stifle a laugh.
I whip my head towards him, "what?"

"If it hurts so much, why do you wear them?"

I sigh, "Because it looks good with my dress?"

-

An hour later, their house elf enters Draco's room, "Y-young Master, M-master has requested for y-you and M-Miss Deveroux in the d-dining room."

I've never heard a house elf stutter before.

Draco looks at me. "Dinner must be ready."

"Finally," I put my heels back on before Draco shows me the way to their dining room.

-

Dinner was amazing. I need to borrow their elf that cooked this cause this was the best meal I've had in a while.

We mostly ate in silence. Father and Lucius were the only ones who seemed to talk during dinner.
I was startled when Lucius began to speak to me.

"So Joy, your father tells me you're doing very well with your academics."

"Yes, I am. Most of the lessons that are being taught now, I've already learned at Beauxbatons. I've taken the initiative to take a few advanced classes, in addition to the required ones for my year, while I can."

"He also mentioned you're athletic?"

Draco coughs to hide a chuckle.
I roll my eyes at his failed attempt, "I used to be a part of gymnastics while I was at Beauxbatons. Seeing as I just transferred to Hogwarts, I felt it was best to hold off on any extra curriculars for now."

He raises his eyes brows while sharing a look with Narcissa. I go back to eating.

Father now begins to speak. "Draco, you play Quidditch?"

"Yes, sir. Seeker. We just won the championship a while ago."

"Impressive, and how are you doing in school?"

"Very well. Best in class in Potions."

Father raises his eyebrows and shares a look with my mother.

'What the fuck is going on right now?'

My father continues, "So I assume you've had a fair amount of past relationships due to your popularity per se."

I shoot my father with a look of 'what the fuck kinda comment is that?!'
He acknowledges my glare but doesn't take his focus off of Draco.

"Well, let's just say I haven't found someone worth being with yet." He politely smiles at Father.

"Good." My father begins to nod at my mother.

Lucius turns his attention to me, "What about you, Joy? Are you currently dating?"

I choke on my food, which startled almost everybody.
I clear my throat, "I'm sorry about that."
I politely wipe my mouth, "Uhm, no I'm not. I'm not interested in dating anyone at the moment," I give him a smile.

Dinner ended and it was time to go.
I wished them happy holidays and said goodbye to Lucius, Narcissa, and even politely said goodbye to Draco.

I waited in the car while my parents took a little longer than I to say goodbye.
As soon as they get into the car, I notify our driver that we're ready to go before turning my attention to my parents.

"Alright, what the hell was that about?"

My father keeps his attention forward. "Language, Joy."

"You didn't tell me the dinner was with the Malfoy's!"

"We didn't think it was important." Mother mocks my expression from earlier.

"So why did we have dinner with the Malfoy's?"

Father finally looks at me, "They're old family friends. We've known them for a long time."

"As in you work with them."

"Yes, we work with them. But we've known them before then too," He shrugs.
"That still doesn't explain their sudden interest in me and your sudden interest in Draco."

"Just leave matters alone, Joy..." He goes back to looking forward.

"...You'll understand soon enough, sweetie," My mother pats my knee in reassurance.

I decide to leave it at that, not wanting to poke at it any further. I lean over to the side and being to slowly drift off to sleep.
That food tired me the the fuck out.
