"Binky!"

Our house elf enters my bedroom. "Yes, Miss Joy?"

I stop packing to walk over to him, and crouch down to his height. "Will you miss me while I'm away?"

He nods, "Yes, Miss Joy. Very much, Miss Joy."

"I'll miss you too, Binks." I lean over and give him a kiss at the top of his head.

-

"You're finally coming to Hogwarts!"
Tori shoots straight up to a sitting position on top of my bed.

"Well, I don't really have a choice, do I?"

I'm finally attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I used to go to Beauxbatons Academy, but Father felt I would be a better fit at Hogwarts now that I'm older.

I'm a Deveroux. My family's generations have all been pure blood and wealth and power has always been the main goal to attain.
Both of my parents are death eaters. I know of it, but I don't like to talk about it. They try to stay under the radar with their line of real business. Right now, they work at the Ministry of Magic to lighten the spotlight on them.

-

Platform 9 and 3/4 was very strange, indeed. Whoever thought it was a brilliant idea to create an entrance to the magical world in the middle of a muggle train station is beyond me.

"So exactly what happens?"

"Well, since you're a third year, but still technically new, you have to be sorted into a house." She turns to me, "I really hope you're in Slytherin."

I chuckle at her, "and what makes you think I won't?"
We continue down the train, looking for an empty compartment for us.

"Well first of all you're a fucking genius, so you could be in Ravenclaw," She looks into a partially filled carriage before continuing on, "You really do have one of the biggest hearts out of everyone I know, so you could be in Gryffindor."
She continues down the train, "But you're also a total bitch—"

I push her forward, "Hey!"

She laughs, "—so you could be in Slytherin."

We come to the very end of the train to an empty compartment. We walk in and place our bags above in the compartments before settling in.

We were really early, so the train still hasn't left the station yet. I look out the window to all the Hogwarts students saying their goodbyes to their families.

"Where were your parents today?" Tori asks.
I shrug, "I don't know, probably working."

Ever since I was young, my parents have barely been home. I've basically been raised by our house elves and occasionally from Tori's parents when they knew my parents were going to be away for long periods of time.

"I have to pee. I'll be right back."

I finished up in the lavatory and squeeze past the other students waiting in line to use it.
Right after I get through what I thought was free land, I walk right into someone, causing me to fall.

"Watch it, asshole!" I rub my head as it hit the carriage door on the way down.

"You ran into me."

I look up to see a platinum blonde, fair skinned boy laughing, standing next to a tan, muscular boy.

"So your eyes don't work to get out of my way?" I get back up on my two feet, dusting off my robes. I look up to study them.. they're pretty hot, I'm not gonna lie. Their attitudes could use fixing though, especially the blonde.

"Don't look too hard now," The muscular one jokes as they make their way down the train.
I didn't realize I was staring at them for that long.

-

I completely forgot where Tori is. I end up looking into every carriage, coming across very aggressive people.
"Where's your fucking manners, asshole? At least be nice."

I was startled by a carriage door slamming open, to a girl with light brown, frizzy hair looking at me.
"Are you looking for someone?" She asks.

"Yeah, Astoria Greengrass?"

She nods to the left. "Second carriage at the end."

I take a deep sigh, "Thanks. I'm Joy Deveroux."

"Hermione Granger. That's Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter." She moves aside to reveal two boys sitting on the opposite sides of each other,
looking at me.

"Really? You're Harry Potter?" I look at him quizzically, "Prove it."

The boy lifts up the hair that was covering his forehead, to reveal the lightning bolt scar.
"Cool. Maybe I'll see you guys around."
I waved goodbye and made my way to the end of the train.

A few people bumped into my shoulder while they walked passed, mumbling something under their breath as they looked back at me.

I roll my eyes, "Why is everyone so fucking rude?"

This is gonna be a long fucking year.

-

"Who was that?" Blaise asks.

Draco shrugs, "I don't know, she was pretty hot though. Wonder what year she's in."

"Hey, Tori." They crawl their way into the carriage on the other side of Tori.

"Hi guys!"

"Maybe she knows," Blaise nods in Tori's direction.

"I know what?"

"There's a new girl. Long, black hair. 5'2". You seen her?" Draco puts his belongings above her.

Tori begins to sit up straight and shakes her head aggressively, "Draco, no. Stay away from her."

"So, you know her," Both Blaise and Draco say in unison.

"She's—"

"God, why are people so fucking rude here?!"

I slam the carriage door open to meet the gaze of the same two boys that I had not so lovely pleasure of running into earlier.
"Oh, it's you two."
My eyes go from the boys to Tori. "You know them?"

Tori reluctantly begins to speak, "Joy, this is..."

"Crabbe and Goyle." Two larger boys who demolished a ton of candy by the looks to the wrappers sprawled out on the floor.

"Blaise Zabini." Tan, muscular asshole.

"Draco Malfoy." Platinum blonde, fair skinned asshole.

"Nice to meet you." I give a half smile as I make my way to the empty seat next to Tori.
