A week later, the season is officially over. Derek decides that he wants to take me out to celebrate. Of course I say yes because I'm always down for an adventure with him.

He sends me snaps of him singing in the shower and I can't help but laugh. With the way those curls are looking too, I seriously can't. I reply to his snap asking him why he's so pretty. He doesn't respond because he FaceTime's me instead.

I'm not pretty!
You sure are.
I will fight you.
You won't win.
How much you wanna bet?
You write my paper for class if I win.
And if I win, you gotta sit through my lecture.
Say word?
Word.
Alright then, it's a bet.
Get ready for this L baby girl.
We don't take L's on this side.
Yeah aight. Ima see you soon though.
Okay.
Get dressed!
No.

He hangs up as I laugh my ass off. He looked too good with the water running down his face like that.

I hop in the shower and get dressed, choosing something simple but cute. Black high waist skinny jeans, with no rips, a black spaghetti strap bralette top, a nude belt and platform heels to match the belt. I then flat iron my hair and put it in a half up-half down do, a strand free on each side of my face.

Okay, it's not a simple outfit...but it's really cute. And about five minutes later I'm getting a text from Derek telling me that he's outside.

"Can I get you two anything else?" The waiter asks.

Derek looks at me and I shake my head.

"Nope, we're all good." He answers for us.

The waiter nods and collects our empty dishes, then walks away.

"How was the food?" Derek asked.

"I loved it." I say. "I think the dessert was the best part though."

"Of course it is." He laughs.

"I'm addicted to Chocolate Lava Cake." I grin.

He shakes his head at me, finishing his glass of water.

"So, what are we doing after this?" I ask.

"Well, the beach isn't too far from here. We can take a late night walk along the shore before heading back to campus for the party." He suggested.

I nod in agreement to that. One of the frats was throwing a party tonight and a member of the crew invited us. I think his name is Sean. He's Courtney's boyfriend so he's definitely a cool dude.

I reach into my bag for my card so I can pay once the waiter comes back with the check.

"What are you doing?" Derek asks incredulously.

I stop digging through my bag. "Paying."

"No you're not." He said. "You're my date, I'm paying for the food."

I blush. "Derek."

"You can leave the tip." He exclaimed.

I slightly frown, but nod nonetheless.

After dinner is paid for, Derek is driving us toward the beach for a late night stroll.

As we walk along the shore, barefoot, we talk about any and everything. He's such an easy person to talk to and an even better person to be around.

"What are you thinking about that's got you so quiet over there?" He asked, looking out at the water.

"The truth?" I ask.
