Chapter 60: A Secret

Adolf and Eric, along with Yuna and her group, all made their way back to the capital.

After they entered, the two group separated.

Yuna asked Eric where his address is but he refused to tell her. Since he's currently living with Shin, giving her such information will trouble his Boss. So instead, he gave a place where they would meet for dinner.

As expected, Yuna was unhappy that he wouldn't even give out his address to her. But he let it slide since she's already satisfied that they have reunited.

Yuna and her group said their farewells, as they headed towards the adventurer guild.

As for Adolf and Eric, they made their way to Guardian. They had to give the results of their mission to Shin.

When they entered the building, they were told that Shin was already waiting for them. They immediately went to the reception room to greet him.

When they entered, they saw that he wasn't alone. There were 3 other people with him. All were his wives.

Shana and Iris were cuddling at his sides, where as Layla was standing behind him giving a shoulder massage.

"You're finally back. That took longer than expected. Did something happen?" <Shin>

"Nothing much, Boss. We only met with unexpected people. But don't worry, they weren't enemies." <Eric>

"Well, even if they were, I trust Adolf should be able to handle them. If not I would have sent him back to his country." <Shin>

Adolf showed an annoyed face hearing that.

"So? Was the pursuers from Fortuneprise?" <Shin>

"Yes. Just as you suspected, we made ourselves as bait to find out who is trying to target Guardian. And what we found out is to be true. Harold Bastorn of Fortuneprise seems to be interested in the potions made by us. It can be concluded that he desires the recipe of the potion. And from what Adolf had told me, they truly believe that I'm the owner who founded the company. And since I was his son, he is hell bent on taking me down. "<Eric>

"Hah! That's good to hear! It will take awhile before he can move again. Considering how he loss his pieces that were willing to help him." <Shin>

"Indeed~ A guy like him doesn't deserve to live. You should take him down before it's too late, Shin" <Shana>

"Doing it too soon won't be fun. I've got to play with my toys a bit longer." <Shin>

With his strength, Shin could easily bring them down. But, since they are an influential company and is well known, it will be hard to do so without arousing suspicion and getting drawbacks.

Especially since Shin wants their downfall to be known by the people and to show them that Fortuneprise are a corrupted company that had been fooling people.

"Yes! I want to see that disgusting bastard mull over his wrongdoings and beg for mercy, Shin-Sama!" <Iris>

"Of course! We need to get our revenge on him for hurting Maya-San." <Layla>

All the ladies agreed on the downfall of Harold Bastorn and his rotten company. Even his former son has no objections.

"Great. For now we can take it leisurely. Until we know that they're on the move again. Good work." <Shin>

"Thank you, Boss!" <Eric>

Now that their discussion has concluded, everyone decided to leave.

Eric was the first to exit the room with Adolf behind him. But when he was outside he noticed that Yuna was there.

"Eh, Yuna? Why are you here?" <Eric>

Yuna who was looking through the shelves of potions also noticed Eric in the corner of her view.

"Eric? Why are you here as well?" <Yuna>

Looking at the room he came out from, the sign on the door shows 'Meeting Room: Authorised Personnel Only'.

Seeing that the room he was from only allowed authorised personnel only, she got curious.

"Why did you came out from the room? Do you work here?" <Yuna>

"Oh. Ah..." <Eric>

Eric didn't know how to reply. He can't tell the truth. But at the same time, denying it will further worsen their relationship. Considering how much he had been hiding things from her ever since they met.

Clueless as to what to say, someone else answered for him.

"He's the owner of this company."

"Huh?" <Yuna>

Yuna looked at the person who said that. Who she saw was Shin, who also came out from the same room as Eric.

"But, you said you're-" <Yuna>

Before she could finish her sentence she felt a piercing gaze. She traced that feeling and found it to be from Shin.

She understood what that gaze meant.

"Ah, I see... So you're the owner of Guardian. You should have told me." <Yuna>

Shin is the real owner. But the cover up is that Eric is the one. Seems like this is a secret for Shin. And she almost spilled that out. It was already good enough that she was allowed to know such thing. But right now, Rita and Mei is with her. So they shouldn't know about this matter.

In response to Shin's words and Yuna, Eric had no choice but to play along as well.

"Y-Yeah... Sorry. I didn't want to tell you something so big when we just met. I thought of telling you when we meet later on." <Eric>

Rita and Mei made a very surprised expression on their face. They knew who Eric was from Yuna, and especially about what happened. To suddenly be told that he became the owner of such a company, anyone would be surprised.

"It seems that you two had already met without me witnessing it, unfortunate. Were they the ones you said about meeting unexpected people?" <Shin>

"Yes. She's the one I'm referring to." <Eric>

"Wait, you knew about us?" <Yuna>

Yuna was curious about how Shin said it.

"Of course! I heard the story from both party. And it didn't take much brain to piece them together and understood both of you knew each other. And I didn't say it because I wanted to watch such a reunion. But to think it already happen..." <Shin>

Shin felt a bit disappointed but wasn't really bothered.

In the end, the two childhood friends finally reunited. That was what matter.
