Chapter 69: Evil

"They're an evil organisation." <Yuna>

Yuna who heard about the Fortuneprise mall incident, as well as Misomi's disappearance, quickly went to Shin's mansion to find out what happened.

When Layla told her about the appearance of man in black cloaks, Yuna immediately thought of the Phantom guild.

"An evil organisation?" <Layla>

"Yes, they're called the Phantom guild. Just like the adventurers guild, they have similar employment. Only difference is, they only do illegal acts." <Yuna>

Yuna had come across with one of them once. And that person was exceptionally strong. It was before she was cursed. Back then, they had a fight, and Yuna only managed to come out unscathed due to her skills. But if she were to fight, she would have lost. Since that person was undoubtedly strong, to be able to beat her, who was considered an S-Rank adventurer.

"How's the Princess? You said she was with Misomi, right?" <Yuna>

"Yes, she was. But when I saw the princess again, Misomi wasn't with her. And the one that could know what happened to her, doesn't intend to tell us anything." <Layla>

Layla recalled how she suspects that Damian could be lying to her about not knowing what happened to Misomi.

"Then, do you think Misomi's disappearance had got to do with anything regarding the Phantom guild?" <Yuna>

"That could be possible. But, what do they want with her? Who would even hire the Phantom guild just to kidnap a harmless girl?" <Layla>

With that question in mind, both Layla and Yuna were in deep thought.

When suddenly,

"Those people in black cloaks took Misomi!"

From nowhere, the Princess burst open the door and entered while saying what really happened.

"Is that true, Aleytia?" <Layla>

The first to question her was Layla.

"Yes! It's true because I saw it. And also..." <Aleytia>

Aleytia prepared herself before saying her next line.

"...Because of me... that I let her get kidnap..." <Aleytia>

Both Layla and Yuna were surprised to hear that. Its hard to believe the Princess would do that, considering she considered Misomi her bestfriend.

"What do you mean? Please explain first, Princess." <Yuna>

Aleytia then began explaining to the both of them the same thing as when she told her mother.

After hearing the full story, Layla and Yuna finally understood the situation.

"Please don't blame yourself too much, Aleytia. If there's someone to be blamed, that would be me. I  was supposed to look after you two while we were out shopping." <Layla>

The atmosphere in the room began to get gloomy from the both of them blaming each other.

"Enough. Both of you should put aside these thoughts and focus on the main issue here. Our top priority is to find Misomi." <Yuna>

"You're right. But, do you know how? What about locating the Phantom guild's whereabouts?" <Layla>

"That's impossible. Their base is unknown. And even if want to contact them, we can't. Since there's no way for anyone to get in touch with them." <Layla>

Layla explained to them what she knows of how they work.

"What do you mean by that? Aren't they similar to the adventure guild, where they take in request? How can someone make a request if they can't even contact them? That doesn't make sense." <Layla>

"That's just how it is. You don't seek them out if you have a request for them. Instead, they seek you out if they know you have a request for them. I don't know how, but that's how they operate. They are just that mysterious." <Yuna>

Hearing that from Yuna, Layla became frustrated.

"Dammit! Then how can we find Misomi!? We don't have any clue, and we don't know why the Phantom guild even kidnap her! This is so frustrating!" <Layla>

Yuna and Aleytia too understood Layla. They couldn't rebuked since they also felt the frustration growing within them.

...

"Why are the palace knights also searching for her? Who is she to be even make them look for her?" <Harold>

A day after the kidnapping, there were a search warrant for Misomi. Harold, who was also questioned by them, were surprised that they were looking for her.

"I don't know, Boss. Maybe that Eric paid them to help him find her?" <George>

"Yes, that might be it! He must be desperate to find her, to the point that he had to ask from the palace for help. He must have used a lot of money to do that, GAHAHAHA!" <Harold>

"Haha, Boss, you must be right! Then, we can send them the threat now?" <George>

"Yes, we can push our plans earlier. But don't tell them it's from us. Make the Phantom guild be the ones to send them. Jist pay extra if they ask for it." <Harold>

"Understood, Boss. I'm on it!" <George>

*Sniff*Sniff*

"I'm scared..." <Misomi>

Misomi was alone and cowering in the corner of the cage. The place that she is at, was dark and cold. With only a ray of light that shone through the cracks of a wall.

"Shin-Sama..." <Misomi>

The only person that came to her mind was Shin. The one who changed her life and made it better. The thought of him who will come to her rescue was the only thing that kept her hopes up.

"Please save me..." <Misomi>

Misomi finally lost herself to the drowsiness that had consumed her. Ever since she was imprisoned here, she had not taken a wink of sleep. Scared that if she were to do so and woke up, the place would be different.
