Chapter 9: Her desire to rescue her family

Walking through the village, there were many wooden houses along the road. Despite the numerous houses, Shin couldnt see anyone around. Not a single elf was seen in the village.

Therefore, he activated [Scout].

After that, he finally sensed multiple presence within his perception. Being able to perceive over a 10km radius, he sensed over 10,000 people, all were hidden in their houses.

Seeing the worried face of Iris as she looked around the village, Shin assured her...

{Dont worry, the villagers are hiding in their homes. It seems they dont dare to step outside.} <Shin>

Hearing Shin relief her worries, she nodded.

Proceeding, she asked Bal questions, hoping to get every bit of information possible that could be helpful.

"Erm...Bal-san. Where is all the villagers? Why arent there anyone around? What did you do to the villagers?" <Iris>

Hearing Iris 's questions, Bal replied happily.

"Hmph! We have declared a lockdown currently. Until my father have ascertain his position. Anyone who dares go out, will be executed on sight." <Bal>

"Of course if you give yourself to me, i can lift that rule." <Bal>

He ended his sentence with a playful tone. But Iris can only shudder after hearing that.

Hearing no reply from her, Bal frowned but continued leading the way.

Iris felt sadden inside knowing her beloved village is affected by her selfishness.

Shin too cant do anything to comfort her and can only stay put.

Still a distance away from the main house, the two elfs that were walking suddenly heard a shout.

It camed from one of the wooden houses nearby. Inside, an old elf was shouting, 'Leave Iris-Sama alone, you scoundrel!'.

As his shouts could be heard throughtout the block, more people joined in to harrass Bal. All were yelling the same thing, telling him to get away from Iris.

Annoyed by the sudden harassment from the villagers, Bal stomped the ground.

It was so strong that a hole was created beneath his feet and a loud sound was made as well.

Following that was a mysterious aura that began to appear and envelop Bal. The aura was coloured black and that aura itself sent chills down Iris's spine.

She stood still and trembled. Probably scared of that ominous aura.

Seeing that, Shin became interested and carefully examine that aura while feeling something familar...

{Hmm...that aura feels similar to my 'Sacred Abilities'. However, it feels really weak compared to mine.} <Shin>

{That lousy third-rate aura definitely has the same nature as yours but it is as you say it is a pebble compared to yours.HAHA...of course it is, I was the one who bestowed that power on you. Hence it is the highest grade of its kind.} <Shana>

{Well, if you say that then it is true. How disappointing, I thought that power could give me a challenge.} <Shin>

{At least i know it is weak, no need for me to be that worried. But i cant say the same for Iris though.} <Shin>
