Luke and I both got in and were now waiting in the waiting room, i signed some papers and got sent back to the waiting room
"do they ever take this long?" Luke asks
i laugh "its been 20minutes since we came in"
"thats alot"
"this can take up to 5 hours" i say
"wh-what really?"
i shake my head and laugh "nah just messing"
he smiles, his dimples are something else, you see them and they make you smile automatically
"Jacqueline Vasquez" a nurse calls my name
i stand up and Luke stares up at me "should I wait here?"
he shakes his head "no , come with me"
i pull him up and walk inside "5th door to the right" the nurse says
i nod "the technician will be with you in a few minutes"
"thank you" i smile
we walk in the room , Luke looks around and sits on a chair, i hop on the bed and wait
"Are you nervous?" he asks
"no im excited"
"why woud you be excited to show a nurse your stomach and look at an alien baby inside"
i laugh "its a good feeling"
"weird"
the technician walks in a couple of minutes later asking the same questions as always "how are you feeling?" "any odd feelings?" and so on
Luke seems bored already
the whole process once again, laying down lifting my shirt up and putting the gel on
"is it cold?" Luke asks
"a little, you get used to it though"
the technician spreads the gel with the probe and tilts the screen a little closer to me
"ew what the hell is that noise!" Luke yells
"heartbeat" me and the nurse answer at the same time
"it doesnt sound like a heartbeat, it sounds like an alien eating, thats fucking creepy"
"Luke.."
"sorry" he looks at the screen "how come your stomach looks like a purse"
"shut up" i laugh
the baby moves all over the place
"the baby is being shy today"
"just like mommy"
"bullshit you arent shy" Luke says
"language Luke!"
"oops sorry, so for how long have you been Jackies nurse?" he asks the technician
"since the beginning of her pregnancy" she says while looking for the baby still
he looks at me "I thought you were new"
she looks at me then at Luke "no, but I can see you are"
she was the same technician as the first time I came with Michael, memories of him talking about hair gel on my stomach make me laugh
"yeah" he simply says "is the heart beat going to be that annoying all the time?"
"ahhh there he is" she says
