Chapter 31

I'm skipping to the graduation ceremony

The ceremony started a few minutes ago
We all sat down waiting for teachers to finish talking
All I could think of was of how Luke was with Anna today a little too close
I should be used to this
I knew it would've happened

After I saw them together I rushed across the street and avoided Luke, I didn't see him at all at the condo and I'm glad
I didn't want to see him either

To make stuff worst take a wild guess who's sitting a seat away ... Anna
You see most schools sit honor students up in front row but not this school, they say it makes students feel superior but whatever

Michael is sitting on the 3rd row and I'm all the way til the 29th row

I look up trying to find my parents and Genesis but no luck

I wait nervously waiting my name to get called for my speech

"It would be embarrassing if someone who gives a speech trips or something " Anna says loudly

I roll my eyes

"Now for one of our top honor students Jacqueline Marie Vasquez "

Shit shit fuck shit bricks fucking hell that's me

Fuck

I stand up and take a deep breathe and walk towards the stage

There's so many people here

I quickly look at Michael and he gives me a reassurance smile and winks

I smile to myself and take a deep breath
Here we go ..

"First off i'd like to welcome parents, family and friends to this lovely graduation ceremony.
My fellow classmates today is the day, the day we make all these 12 years worth it, the day we no longer have to count down each class period for freedom. We did it, it's been a few long hard working years but we finally did it. Today is proof that working hard towards something helps you achieve your lifetime goals, but we couldn't have done it without our teachers who help us and guide us the right direction along with our parents who have Been supportive through everything. It seems like yesterday we were freshmen scared of what to expect from the new school and new people." I try making eye contact and always land back to Michael who is smiling , I must admit that relaxes me a bit " high school helped us prepare for the real world, we met people who change our life for good or bad they have an impact in our life , we lose friends but that's what life is about we learn lessons. From being a straight A student , partying nearly every weekend and dating the schools hottest quarterback .. No Michael I'm not talking about you " the whole crowd laughs and I smile at Michael " it all leads to the same thing .. Lessons. Live your life , stay out late , do whatever you want to you're young just enjoy it !"

"Booooo!!!!!" A girl screamed

I rolled my eyes and continue
"Mom.. Dad.. Thank you for everything I'm sorry if I mess up sometimes but I couldn't have done any of this without you and your support together with Genesis and Calum " I get emotional and sniff a little
"Michael .. I love you so freaking much even if we both mess up sometimes you're still and always will be my best friend doesn't matter what happens , you always push me to do better and always bring me back up so thank you , even if you're the most conceited quarterback but you do have a reason to be  .. Anyways thank you for everything that you do for me I love you "

"I love you babe!" He stands up and yells the whole student crowd tell him the shut up and laugh

I smile
"We did it! This is our moment! What we've been waiting for since we were small kids! Thank you for all the wonderful memories ! Please never give up on what you want to do if you want to be a singer go for it ! Doctor? Go for it! Anything don't give up! Thank you and it's been an honor to be here ! We did it class of 2014!!"
