Only so many days
Till I burst into flames,
Until all of the fires
Start calling my name.
Burn the sky bright
To save children of fright,
To save them from darkness

And if they look
They may finally see
All of the blackness
Locked up inside me.

Afraid of the light,
It runs from you now
Fearing the bright.
I expect fire,
But I get the sun,
Spreading light throughout it
To warm everyone.
And yet still
There is fire to come,
But until then
I will stay near my sun.
