Distance makes the heart grow fonder,
Though I'd never been fonder to you,
Today I feel my heart beat faster
As I race to see my light
Outshine the sun
And my love grow bigger
Than the moon.
Distance made my work grow harder
As I worked through depression and gloom,
It was easy to work blank minded
As long as in my minds eye
I could see you
And say the next day that
I would be through.
Distance made my mind grow darker
While I longed to feel other than blue,
I missed the way your arms caressed me
As I held myself at night
Feeling lone full
And told myself you were near
Feeling hopeful.
