He sat on one side of the courtroom while she sat on the other. Their parents accompanied her with cold and stern expressions. Their focus was on the judge and the lawyer pleading her brother's case.
From a distance, it looked like he was calm and collected but the more she paid attention, the more unfamiliar he became. She knew what today meant to her brother and she knew how far he was willing to go for what he wanted. She wanted to support him to the best of her abilities but when her loyalty was questioned, she chose to uphold the family name.
The Wilson legacy.
Her mother's hand twitched. She tried to hold it for comfort but was immediately brushed off.
It hurt. The implication stung her self-esteem but she overlooked it. Recognition wasn't something you stumbled upon, it was something you fought for. The road ahead was long and full of obstacles but that wasn't going to stop her.
Not today.
