Sugar pulled me into the car and HC started driving. I sat in the back cradling Majung's card.
"Dark, are you alright?" Sugar asks, laying a hand on my shoulder from her seat next to me.
"I-I don't know. Everything's been different since they took over and I feel like I'm not strong enough to get us through it. And today showed that, I wasn't strong enough to help Majung and he got hurt in the end." I mutter quietly, drawing my knees up my chest.
"What are you talking about? It's not like any of us knew that this would be our future and that most certainly doesn't make you less strong. You took on Gabbro like a boss and even if Gabbro did defeat Majung, we were able to defeat Gabbro. Together, we're strong and we can take on these spacey weirdos." HC says, launching into a motivational speech. I smile and nod in thanks, I feel better now. Not completely but I feel at least somewhat better.
Rod calls us on our dinotectors after about five minutes of driving, "Guys, the Space Pirates have launched search parties, they're trying to find us."
"They're that quick?! We've only just left their base!" Ocean exclaims in shock through the dinotector.
"Yeah, what're we going to do? No doubt that they already closed down the roads in and out of PA." Laura asks.
"Calm down everyone. I have a plan but I'm going to need a group and their car to be bait. Any volunteers?" I ask.
"Max, Rex, Rod, Laura, and I can do it since we know how to deal with the Space Pirates." Zoe volunteers.
"Great, I'm going to need you guys to meet us at the parking lot of the nearest Giant. We'll have Simon pilot our car while you guys join us in ours. They'll probably be looking for one of our cars so Simon will lure them away from us as we'll all approach the state border. There Rod will disarm the camera's and we'll take out the droids there. Then we'll be home free. You got that?"
"Alright, we'll be there in 10 minutes." Max confirms before the call ends. It was starting to get dark, hopefully we could use that to our advantage. We met the original D-Team in about 10 minutes in the parking lot behind Costco and gave Simon directions on what to do. Thankfully the device in each car allowed Simon to see out of the rear view camera while also steering the car. We tuned into the radio as well just to make sure we knew where not to go to get to the border. We all arrived at the state border in about 30 minutes, during that time Rod had carefully disarmed the camera's and had full control of the red and white poles that either prevented or allowed for a car to pass. Quietly, everyone with a ranged weapon climbs on top of their vehicles and disabled the bots. Quickly, we drove through the state border and back to our house. We were not expecting to get the earful that we got.
