Scene starts in the canteen. Joe and Demi are now in the canteen going to sit with Adele and Ethan for lunch.
Adele: Hey, how was maths?
Demi: Not great to be honest.
Adele: How'd you mean?
Demi: Jesse and Lacey were more bitchy than usual and said some horrid things, but who cares I guess.
Ethan: Did they get in trouble?
Demi: Sir gave them detention yeah, but still doesn't take the hurt away.
Joe: I would've said something but Sir beat me to it.
Ethan: At least they got detention though and they didn't get away with it.
Demi: Yeah I guess you're right.
Adele: Hey, how about we go to music? That might cheer you up?
Joe: Yeah good idea. That'll cheer you up a bit Dem.
Demi: Yeah okay, let's go then. Not you though Joe, your playing is awful
Joe: Hey! I tried to play the piano!
Adele: Yeah and you failed miserably.
Joe: Okay that's fair.
All laugh
Demi and Adele make their way to the music room
Mr Smith: Hey Demi, you're back!
Demi: Yeah! What've I missed out on?
Mr Smith: Not too much, mainly getting you lot to write songs at the minute, and I guess you already have been doing that.
Demi: Yeah, I have.
Mr smith: I knew it! Right, I would love to chat more but I have a meeting so gotta bounce.
Mr Smith exits
Demi moves over to the piano
Demi: Hey Adele, can you do the pedal if I play?
Adele: Yeah sure.
Demi begins to play "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten
Demi: (singing) "Losing friends and I'm chasing sleep,
Everybody's worried about me
In too deep
Say I'm in too deep
And it's been two years, I miss my home,
But there's a fire burning in my bones
Still believe
Yeah I still believe."
Demi carries on singing until end of chorus - finish on "A lot of fight left in me"
Adele: Wow. I forgot how good your voice was.
Demi: (Laughs) Thanks. And thanks for doing the pedal by the way.
Adele: You don't need to thank me Dem, you're my best friend.
Demi: I know, I know but still want to. Very grateful for you.
Adele: Aww. I'm grateful for you too Dem. That song was incredible too.
Demi: Thanks. Realised songs like that mean so much more now cause of the accident.
