Last One - Act 2, Scene 6

A MONTH PASSES

Scene starts at school. Adele, Ethan and Kayla are already inside sitting at their normal spot. Beau arrives with Demi and they go up to the group.

Demi: Hey g-g-guys.

Ethan: Good to see you Dem.

Adele: Hey Dem.

Adele and Ethan hug Demi

Kayla: (Gesturing to Demi and Beau) Ooh, you two seem close.

Beau blushes

Beau: I know, I love it.

Demi: I-I'm n-n-not an it.

Beau: I know Dem, I was saying about something else.

Demi: Hm.

Kayla hugs Demi

Beau: Hey do you wanna go to music later?

Demi: S-sure.

Adele: Can I tag along with you guys?

Beau: Yeah of course.

End of the day soon approaches

Beau, Demi and Adele make their way to music after their lesson.

Demi: I d-d-don't...I c-can't...

Adele: You don't what Dem?

Demi: R-r-remember.

Adele: That's okay. Let's just go in and see how you go. Yeah?

Demi: F-f-fine.

Beau: Do you wanna play first?

Demi: W-w-what?

Beau: The piano? You could sing Burn from Hamilton? Or the duet you and Isaac did.

Demi: N-no.

Beau: Could you try?

Adele glares at Beau

Demi puts her hands on the keys and stares at the sheet music, she then tries to play the notes but they're wrong

Demi: (Anger starting to rise) N-no no no, it-its w-wrong, it's all w-w-wrong.

Beau: You can do it. Just keep trying.

Demi: (shouting) I can't!

Demi rips off the sheet music and goes outside

Adele: She said she didn't want to play.

Beau: Well sorry for trying to get her to do the thing she loves most again.

Adele: There's nothing wrong with that, but you just need to take it slow. She's not the same as she was when you were with her.

Beau: Yeah, I know that.

Adele: Well then why do I feel like you prefer the old her.

Adele goes outside to go check on Demi

Isaac is already out there talking to Demi when she comes out

Adele: You okay Dem?

Isaac: Hi Adele.

Demi: H-he s-said am I a-alright.

Isaac: Yeah I heard shouting and wondered what was going on.
