The Shower of Blood

Varian stared into Cassandra's wide eyes waiting for her response.

"Varian!!!", a familiar voice called as Maximus ran over to the scene.

Eugene jumped off Max and headed toward Varian.

"Kid, What are you doing? And what happened to you?!", Eugene asked as he looked at Varian's new look.

Varian watched as more guards ran over with their horses, helping up the citizens in the background.

Varian sighed and looked at Eugene a little put out.

"What does it look I'm doing?", he asked gesturing, "I'm protecting Cass from those heathens."

"It looked like to me you were trying to kill them!!", Eugene said looking angry and confused, "Kid, What's gotten into you?!"

"Nothing really.", Varian shrugged.

Eugene glanced at Cass, "What happened to you?"

Cass just looked at the ground in silence, unsure what to do.

"Varian started those fires.", Cass blurted finally.

Eugene stares at Varian as Rapunzel arrived on Fidella, "Is that true kid?"

Varian smirked.

Giving Eugene his answer.

"Heh, You're damn right I did Eugene.", Varian laughed.

Eugene stepped back as Rapunzel covered her mouth with her hands.

"You're going to have to be on trial then arrested Varian!", Eugene said trying to regain his composure as Rapunzel felt her heart tear in two.

Varian shook his head, "Sorry but I can't let you do that Fitzherbert.", he sneeered.

Eugene drew his sword from his sheath and swallowed, "I'll fight you Varian if I have to, punishment is what you need right now. What you did was unforgivable."

"Eugene... wait!", Rapunzel called as she watched her boyfriend charge toward Varian.

Rocks grew everywhere.

Varian rolled his eyes.

Did Eugene really think he had what it took to take him down? To come even close?

Eugene dodged the rocks.

But then everything went wrong.

Rapunzel watched in horror as the rock sliced through Eugene's gut, going through his spine as the shower of blood flew.

"EUGENE!!!!", Rapunzel screamed as Varian threw his head back laughing.

"Idiots!"

Rapunzle ran to her fiance cupping his head in her hands

"F-flower gleam and glow"
She hurried

But nothing happened

"LET YOUR POWER SHINE"

still nothing

"Sshh.."
Eugene said weakly taking her hand in his

"MAKE THE CLock..reverse"

She said putting her forehead against his

"Plea-se stay strong"

"heal what has been hurt..."

"I-love you-..sunshine...."

He said this and his hand fell and his eyes closed

"Bring back..what once was m-mine"

The young princess was to distraught to leave his side.

"V-Varian"

The alchemist could hear the womans voice from behind him

"Yes?"

"Why..?"

"EUGEENNNEEE"

The crying princess screamed realising he had finally slipped away

Cass closed her eyes and took his hand

"Listen to me. Youve lost your cool youve lost your head. You need to stop this."

She opened her eyes and looked into his, tears threatening to spill.

"Please,stop this"

"I.."

He shook his head

"No."

"Varian..."

"Im in control really, I havent lost my cool or my head. I can protect you, come with me"

She looked to the ground .

She was silent for a while.

"No."

"What?"

"Varian, Im not going back to what I was before"

He turned his head to the side and started to breathe heavy

"You have no choice "

"What!?"

All of a sudden, Quirin came running behind his son frying pan in hand.
