Varian walked out of the bathroom and back to Quirin and Cassandra.
"Where did you go?"
"I went to the..bathroom"
"Ok"
Cassandra and Quirin continued to talk. This time he could listen and it turned out they were talking about plans for building so he joined in.
The next day Varian set out to the Corona libary. He said he had gone because he was intrested in building plans, but really he was there to learn about the powers of the moonstone and legends of Zhan tiri.
"There has to be some logical explanation for this.."
Varian mumbled to himself searching through the shelves.
Since the destruction was so bad people went out to help rebuild instead of their normal duties. No one was in here with him.

He found a book with the title

Oddly enough it was the only book he could find on the subject.
Must of been that coward of a king.
Must of wanted to dispose all the evidence that he had awoken darkness.
Varian sat at a table in the corner and opened the book.
Those who possess the moons power will be the chosen one. Only few can harness its power. Only one has in the past, he died. He died because-
"Varian?"
He looked up to see Cass.
"Hi Cassie!"
Her happy expression turned to sadness.
"Why are you reading that?"
"I was curious."
"Do you know how much pain I went through?"
He just looked down and closed his eyes.
"She played with my mind. She manipulated me."
Still no response.
"How can you read about something so evil?"
Finally he spoke,in a mumbled quiet voice
"...because.."
"Because?"
"I...I know"
"Varian what do you mean?"
He started shaking.
"Varian?"
He heard the heart beat again
"Please talk to me"
dum dum
"Please let me go my father probably needs me"
"Varian what is wrong with you
lately"
It grew louder
DuM DuM
"Nothing I'm fine.. how many times do I need to tell you?"
Beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.
He tried pushing past her but she was too strong and held him back easily.
"We both know that is not true there is something wrong"
DUM DUM
He was shaking violently and sweating hard
"Varian?"
He began breathing heavy.
It was happening again, he felt like his chest was tightening and he was gasping for air
"VARIAN??"
He felt his knees get weak
"L-Let me go"
She tried to put a hand on his back in case he fell
DUM DUM DUM
"Var-"
He looked up at her face
"I SAID LET ME GO"
His eyes flashed white as he shouted that in her face
She let go of his back and gasped in shock.
Varian ran past her while he had the chance and out of the building
