-|Life of the Party - Shawn Mendes|-

I love it when you just don't care
I love it when you dance like there's nobody there
So when it gets hard, don't be afraid
We don't care what them people say

I watch from a distance as my boy swings his hips to the beat of the music carelessly. He holds a drink carefully in his hand, not wanting it to spill on the outfit he had so prestigiously planned out a few hours earlier. I can tell he takes note of the odd glances every now and then as he yells out each song lyric, but he ignores them, continuing to have the time of his life.

I love it when you don't take no
I love it when you do what you want cause you just said so
Let them all go home, we out late
We don't care what them people say

I work my way through the sea of intoxicated people, glaring at the back of each head attached to the bodies hat collide with me, pushing me further back from my boy. When I'm finally right behind him, I place my hands on his hips. I can smell the alcohol in the air and watch as smoke surrounds us as a nearby wasted girl blows her strawberry scented vape into the air.

"It's getting late, let's go home." I leaned down close to Andy's ear and whispered.

His body continued to sway as he leaned back against me. He brought his drink up to his lips, turning his head to look at me from the corner of his eye.

"No, not yet." The slur leaves his pink lips and I find it hard to say no.

Andy throws his empty cup into the surrounding crowd of people before turning around to face me. His ocean blue eyes look up into mine innocently, but there is nothing innocent about him in this current state. He wraps his arms around my neck and presses our front half's together. I can feel that his shirt is damp with sweat and probably other people's drinks that were spilt when they collided in the crowded room.

"Let loose a little. Enjoy yourself, babe." Andy slurred against my lips before pressing his against mine firmly. I could taste the alcohol as our tongues battled.

We don't have to be ordinary
Make your best mistakes
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party
I'm telling you to take your shot it might be scary
Hearts are gonna break
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party

I finally let myself go, keeping my hands on Andy but beginning to sway to the same rhythm of his hips. I can now feel the odd looks as Andy and I let loose, enjoying ourselves, but I don't care. I continue to have a good time, holding my boy tightly and enjoying myself.

Together we can just let go
Pretend like there's no one else here that we know
Slow dance fall in love as the club track plays
We don't care what them people say

Andy and I let ourselves go completely, sipping from our new red solo cups with some random alcohol. But we didn't care what alcohol we were drinking or who was around us, all we were paying attention to was each other and having a good time.

A slower song rang through the room, and Andy wrapped his arms around my neck and placed his head against my chest, letting his eyes flutter shut softly. I let my hands rest comfortably on his waist as we moved around to the slow rhythm.

I looked down at the tired boy leaning his weight into my body. His cheeks were dusted pink and his eyelashes were resting against his baby soft skin. His hair was a mess, but the majority of it was stuck against his forehead, held in place by sweat. I fell even more in love with the messily beautiful boy in front of me.

We don't have to be ordinary
Make your best mistakes
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party
I'm telling you to take your shot it might be scary
Hearts are gonna break
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party
Come out tonight, come out tonight
There's no one standing in your way
Come out tonight, come out tonight
We don't care what them people say
We don't care what them people say
We don't have to be ordinary
Make your best mistakes
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party
I'm telling you to take your shot it might be scary
Hearts are gonna break
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Life of the party
So don't let them keep you down
Oh you know you can't give up
'Cause we don't have the time to be sorry
So baby be the life of the party

-|i wrote this over a year ago and never felt like it was good enough to post. But here it is. So a little life update, my life is kinda crazy. The last six moths have put me through hell and back with so much family loss and anxiety and trying to deal with my mental health. And now everything happening with the corona virus has honestly added so much anxiety to me, not because I'm scared to get it, but because of how it's affecting my school. I now have to do all of my classes online for the rest of the school year, with is the middle of May. Our big family vacation with my aunts and their families and my grandma and grandpa has been cancelled. We don't know when we'll be able to reschedule it. Moral of the story, I'm an anxious mess. But the bright side of this staying at home stuff, I might have more time to write. And I might be writing new stories. Maybe not related to RoadTrip, who knows. But yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed this, sorry for going on a little rant lol. Ilya🖤|-
