So, I wanted to give you guys an opportunity to get to know me better as a theater fan, so... here you go! My favorite theater actresses:
-Renee Elise Goldsberry- She IS Angelica to me! She is also an EXCELLENT singer and I think she is the best Angelica. She also is my favorite Mimi! Role(s) I think would fit her: Daniela from In The Heights or Catherine of Aragon from Six
-Philippa Soo- I love her singing voice! It is so clear and for a lack of a better term, beautiful! She and Rachelle Ann Go are my top Elizas! Role(s) I think would fit her: Joanne from Rent (her voice suits her), Nina from In The Heights, Jane Seymour from Six
-Jasmine Cephas Jones- Her voice is SO unique and I love the R&B tambre it has! I think she is my favorite Peggy! Role(s) I think would fit her- Maureen from Rent, Carla from In The Heights, Katherine Howard from Six
-Rachelle Ann Go- She is the original London Eliza and I'm SO sad I don't get to see her live! Her "Burn" is VERY fierce and is on the angrier side and she has is a VERY, VERY good singer! Role(s) I think would fit her: Catherine Parr from Six
-Lea Salonga: She. Is. A Legend! As a Disney fan, I also love her as a singer, too! Her enunciation is SO crisp, and I saw a video of her coaching a girl on "The Voice Kids" in the Philippines and I was AWED! Role(s) I think would fit her: Camila from In The Heights, Angelica Schuyler from Hamilton
-Karen Olivo- I love her as Anita and Vanessa! And she is one of THE best Angelicas I've heard! Role(s) I think would fit her: Amneris from Aida (I've only heard a snippet of "My Strongest Suit" and I think she would nail it!)
-Mandy Gonzalez- She has a GREAT singing voice and I love her as Nina, of course, and Angelica. Her "Satisfied" is pretty great! I would love to see her live. Role(s) I think would fit her: Jane Seymour from Six.
-Sun-Ah "Summer" Jung- She is the BEST foreign-language Mimi I've seen! She was the original Korean Mimi and first played her AT THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN when she was still in high school! She played her again two years later. She is currently playing Amneris in Aida (I think?) and I saw a bit of her singing "My Strongest Suit" and she can SING! Role(s) I think would fit her: Daniela from In The Heights (I REALLY want to see her play her), Catherine of Aragon from Six, EDIT: ANGELICA SCHUYLER FROM HAMILTON
