Maya woke up and immediately knew what the date was. January, 16. Also known as her birthday. She was now seventeen years old and had no possible idea how she was going to survive any of the challenges that the day would bring her. She just knew that she couldn't sit around doing nothing any longer. The past week since she went to the doctor she has been taking it easy but today she has to get a few things done. She looked around not finding what she was hoping for. Josh was already gone but she didn't expect anything different. She didn't tell him what the date was and with good reason as well. She wanted him to go on like nothing was wrong but it didn't seem like that at that exact moment. Maya scrolled through her Instagram while she just drank a mug of tea and felt warm from all of the wonderful things she had received from random people she doesn't even know.

"What are you doing today?" Joseph asked as he and Sofia joined Josh. "Nothing. Studying," Josh said and Sofia looked at Joseph. "It's her birthday," Sofia said. "What?" "It's Maya's birthday today. Her Instagram is exploding. How don't you know?" Sofia asked and Josh pulled out his phone as it rang.
"Riley? Everything okay?" "I can't get a hold of Maya. Do you know where she is?" Riley asked. "No. Why are you trying to call her?" Josh asked. "She's turning seventeen today, Josh," Riley said.
