Epilogue

This is the sad ending I wrote.. You can skip to next chapter if you prefer happy ending.

Zayd's P.O.V.

After visiting her, I felt that all the loneliness of those five years were gone.
Her name, her memories brought smile on my face.

Anya.
My Couer.

"Zayd?"
I closed the main door and looked at Aisha smilingly.
She smiled back tears forming in her eye.
"Ammi would be so happy to see you like this," she exclaimed.
I went and hugged her.

"Let's have dinner Aisha." I said heading towards the dining room.
Ammi, Abu, Arjun and Arshiya were already seated.

"Mamu.. everyone here was just waiting for you." Arshiya spoke.
I looked at the watch it was 15mins past 7.
Fifteen minutes late to their usual time of dinner.
Indeed they were waiting for me.

I apologized and sat beside my princess.
You won't believe but in these five years today is the day I had a proper meal.
I ate to my content.

I was just sitting on the porch, looking at the moon.
It was drizzling a little.

Arjun came outside holding an umbrella, sitting beside me.
Anya was like my umbrella during rains.
She was like my Shade during the high sun.
She was everything necessary in my life.

"It's good to see you smiling," Arjun stated.
"Yeah." I nodded my eyes still fixated on the moon, which was now getting slowly covered by the dark clouds.

"It's going to rain heavily, umm...can we go back inside and talk?" Arjun asked.
I nodded getting up and heading inside.
Once seated on sofa, Arjun spoke," hope you are doing fine."
I took a deep breath and got up saying," I need coffee." And then went towards the kitchen.

With the cup in my right hand, I headed towards Arjun but stopped mid-way hearing his conversation," how could they do this?"

I couldn't stop myself," who did what?"
Aisha looked at me with eyes full of pity.
"Nothing Bhai." She spoke.
"But he needs to know." Arjun said.

"What is it?" I asked now curious.
"Don Aftab is freed."
"Arjun.." Aisha spoke while I said,"oh."
"Oh? That's what you would say? He murdered Anya and now he is free.. how? He was given life sentence, how could he be freed after five years?" Arjun spoke.

I sat on the sofa, sipping my coffee nonchalantly.
"It's ok Arjun, he was freed because for sure he might have bribed or something..like come on he is Don."
I said
"But still Bhai...." Aisha said but I stopped her.
"It's ok, I don't blame him.
Destiny.
Everything happens because it's in our destiny.
When a child is in its mother's womb, its whole life is already written then and there.
You can't change destiny.
Anya and I?
Indeed We were meant to be.
But meant to be what?
Together?
Separate?
Nop.
Anya and I we are just meant to be.
We were meant to be in the moment we always fought.
W were meant to be enemies
We were meant to be in the moment when we first kissed.
We were meant to be married villagiously.
We were meant to be of different religion yet lovers.
We were meant to fight for our love.
We were meant to be married
And last we were meant to be far.
So far that only death could make us both meet.
I don't blame anyone for Anya's death.
Cause Don Aftab was just a reason the actual thing is that Anya and I ,we were meant to be.
Like nothing more nothing less...just that."

I then got up and headed towards Arshiya's bedroom to tell her bed-time stories as I always do.
She is one of my reason why am not shattered for Anya's death.

This book just potrays that no matter what you will only get what you are destined.
Not all love stories have happy endings and even though they have there's always one person who isn't happy in the book..yeah?

By the way am thinking of changing Atiya book..a little and make it a sequel of We were Meant to be...
The plot will remain only the title and some parts of the book Atiya will change I think... But what do you say? Give suggestions ☺️☺️
