JS: Right now, we actually have their six children, yes you heard that right, they have six equally handsome and beautiful children. Hindi lang pala sa trabaho masipag ang aldub, pati sa mga anak. *laughs* But before we start anything, we'd like to extend our sincerest thank you to Alden and Maine for allowing us this, to be able to chat with their kids. Medyo mahigpit po sila when it comes to media sa mga anak nila. Sobrang appreciated namin ito, Alden and Maine. Maraming salamat sa pagtitiwala. *nods to the couple and shakes their hands* Alright, let's have it. Let's start the fun! *turns to the six kids sitting on the sofa* Introduce yourselves first kiddos, starting with the eldest.
Thirdy: *smiles shyly at the cam* Hi! My name is Richard Mendoza Faulkerson the Third. I'm 15.
Theo: *smiles* Hi! I'm Theoden Mace Mendoza Faulkerson, 14 years old.
Aycee: *waves* My name's Athena Celestine Mendoza Faulkerson and I'm 11 and a half years old.
Sieg: Hiii! *waves at the cam* My name is Siegfried Ryland Mendoza Faulkerson, 9 years old.
Seb: and I'm Sebastian Ryden Mendoza Faulkerson, 9 years old.
Chuchay: Hello! *points at cam and smiles* My name is Charmaine Mary Rose Mendoza Faulkerson. I am 6 years old. *shows six fingers*
JS: *claps* Nice! So you're the eldest, Richard the third, right? *nods at Thirdy* Then second would be Theo, then Athena, then etong kambal, then pretty Charmaine is the bunso.
JS: So.. Alden, Maine? six kids? Sipag ah!
R: *chuckles* What can I say? Sayang naman lahi kung di paparamihin *laughs* Ganda kaya ng misis ko.
M: Daddy! *elbows R* Baka maniwala sila *laughs*
R: Mommy ang ganda ganda mo kaya! Di ba kids? Mommy is very pretty?
Chuchay: My mommy is pretty! *goes to R&M on the loveseat, hugs her mommy then sits on her daddy's lap*
JS: Oo naman! Wala ka paring kupas Maine Mendoza. So Maine, did you plan this, having six kids?
M: Oh no, hindi po. I originally wanted three kids lang. After we had our third baby and first girl, si Aycee, okay na dapat ako. Then RJ convinced me that it'll be nice to have another baby girl para balance daw ng 2 boys and 2 girls. Kaso what we got instead were twin boys, that's Seb and Sieg. And then we got baby Chuchay. But all of my kids are precious gifts from God, we wouldn't have them any other way. *smiles*
JS: May balak pa bang pampito?
R: Naku wala na po. *chuckles* Final count na yang anim. But seriously, pregnancy was taking a toll on Meng's well-being, and we generally experienced rough first and second trimesters with all of our pregnancies. I just don't want to risk my wife's health anymore. Okay na kami sa anim namin.
M: Advancing age na din po Tita, I was already 34 when I had my youngest. Nahirapan na talaga.
JS: And they all have wonderful names. Sinong nakaisip nun Alden? Wait, *turns to the kids* Is it ok to call your Dad Alden? It's not confusing for you?
Theo: It's fine po. We all know who Daddy is. *shrugs*
R: We told them early on that Alden is my name only at work. Sa bahay, I'm still RJ, Richard and to them, Daddy. Sanay na sila.
JS: Good, I don't want to be the cause of confusion. Now Maine, where did you get their names?
M: Kuya Thirdy's after his lolo and Dad of course. Richard the Third. Theo's is a combo of my Tatay Teodoro, and Alden, his second name was from letters picked out of my name that RJ chose. Aycee is from both mine and RJ's favorite girl names, Athena and Celestine.
R: The kambal's names are the same, both mine and Meng's favorite boy names naman, Sebastian and Siegfried. Yung second names nila na Ryland and Ryden was derived from a combination of Richard and Nicomaine Dei plus some, imbento ni Meng *chuckles* and of course, Chuchay's Charmaine is again from Richard and Maine, her second name are from Maine's Nanay Mary Ann and my own mother, Rosario. We shortened it to Mary Rose.
JS: Mahusay, pinag isipan.
R: We got all that we wanted. Marami eh *laughs*
JS: Let's talk to the kids. Kuya Thirdy, being the eldest, how is it being the son of very famous parents? Lalo ka na panganay ka. Did Mom and Dad explained to you what their work is?
Thirdy: *shrugs* I grew up with it. My earliest memories are being on Eat Bulaga, playing. When we go out sa mga malls, they always explain to us what may happen. That some people will look at us, some people will ask for pictures. To just always smile and be polite. Eversince I can remember ganun lagi.
Aycee: Even when we were babies, they try to explain to us what their work is, they bring us to their workplace, like kuya, I can always remember playing in Eat Bulaga. Or when they do movies, they would bring us too, to show us how everything works.
Theo: Eat Bulaga is one big playground for us. As long as we stay out of the staff and crew's way. Maraming wires dun eh *laughs* Mom, remember when Sebby tripped on one of those wires and broke a tooth?
Thirdy: Then Sieg tripped at the audience stairs and had a big bukol on his head? It happened on the same day. Mom was panicking! *chuckling*
M: *shakes her head and laughs* Ang lilikot kasi! Daddy banned the kids from going to the studio for a month after that. Until they behaved again.
R: *shakes his head and chuckles* That wasn't the end of it though. Marami pa yun.
JS: Do they get punished too? Napapalo din ba sila?
R: Yes, they get time outs. Pag sobra na napapalo din. But as much as possible we try to use a rolled up magazine or newspapers or yung soft slippers sa pagpalo, not our hands kasi ang hands ginagamit sa pagmamahal, sa paghaplos, and not for punishment.
M: *Smiles* Yes, nasisigawan din at napapagalitan. But we do try to explain to them why they are being punished. Kinakausap namin ng maayos pagtapos. Disciplining is of utmost importance kasi anim sila. Daddy and I have to be on top of everything. Things can easily fall in between the cracks pag di inayos ng maaga. We learned that early on in parenting.
