Maine Mendoza-Faulkerson was in a hurry to go home. Aside from the fact that she doesn't want to be stuck in traffic in the rain, she plainly misses her kids. The children are at home today because today was declared a no school day because of the storm. She initially thought of bringing them with her to the studio but thought the better of it because of the rains. Her husband Richard who was on his way to pick her up, was assigned to the barangay today, she didn't want him to, being honest with herself, the chances are big that RJ will get wet in the rains today and knows that her husband has weak lungs and can easily gets sick. But Ninong Jose is assigned with her in APT studios for the segment Little Miss Philippines. Jose has apologized quite a few times to her knowing she likes Richard staying with her at the studios. He even volunteered to talk to Bossing to swap places, but Richard will be hosting Little Mr. Pogi once the Little Miss Philippines is done. He'll be back in the studio eventually. And truth be told, Richard likes to be assigned to the barangay every now and then. That's when he gets the chance to see and talk to people he normally wouldn't encounter in his daily activities. Sometimes, he brings the older kids, Thirdy, Theo and Aycee with him. To show them how the "other side" lives and how lucky they are to be born into a comfortable life. RJ and Meng are teaching their kids life lessons; how to appreciate simple things, that money is not the end all and be all of everything, to always find an opportunity to help and be a blessing to others, and above all, to always thank the Lord for every blessing they receive may they be big or small. Maine does the same when she gets assigned to the barangay.
R: *calling M* Ma, malapit na ko sa studio. Ready ka na?
M: *over the phone* Hi daddy! Yes po, just a few things to gather then I'm all set. Parking nalang or pasok ka pa?
R: Pasok. May pinapabigay kay Ninong Jose from barangay nag promise ako dun sa tao na ako mismo mag aabot sa kanya. Matagal na yata nyang kaibigan yung matandang nagbigay. Binigyan din tayo eh, isang bilao na biko. Aldub fan din daw sila ng asawa nya.
M: Ay wow, thank you kamo. Favorite ni Aycee yan. Sige sabihan ko si Ninong. Hintayin nalang kita dito. Ingat ha, dahan dahan sa daan, di kailangan magmadali. Mama Ten, can you hear me?
MT: Yes Meng?
M: Pag bumilis yan mag drive, paluin mo sa kamay or sapakin mo. You have my permission.
MT: Yun lang pala eh. Ayan RJ narinig mo si madam, may permiso akong sapakin ka. *snickers*
R: *addresses MT* Sapakin mo mukha mo. *rolls his eyes*
M: Ano yun RJ?
R: Wala po, sabi ko po dahan dahan lang naman talaga ko mag drive. Malapit na ko Ma, should be there in about 15.
M: Good. Kala ko nag rereklamo ka eh.
R: Di ah. Ako pa ba? Takot ko lang sa misis ko *glaring at MT who's laughing silently* Sige na Ma, less than 15 mins siguro andyan na ko. Love you! Mwaaah!
M: Okay, ingat pa din ha. Love you too! Kiss kiss! *R then hangs up*
Ninong Jose: *coming from behind M* Sino yang kiss kiss mo dyan? Sumbong kita sa asawa mo eh.
M: Ninong Jose! Para namang eng eng to, sino pa ba sa palagay mo?
Jose: *laughs* nagbibiro lang naman. Parating na ba si Richard?
