~~PART 1~~

Mrs. Maine Mendoza Faulkerson was officially having a bad day. It had started off at the lovely hour of 2 AM. She was barely settling in bed when one of her twin sons, Siegfried Ryland, woke up screaming at the top of his lungs. Her husband Richard, who's been gone for almost a week is currently on a plane on his way home from a series of shows in US and Canada. He initially had wanted to take all of them with him on the trip, but she resisted. The older kids are already in school and she doesn't want to pull them out unecessarily. And five kids all under the age of ten in two countries in less than one week plus her being almost 16 weeks pregnant with their sixth baby will be no picnic, so they stay put.

She jumped up from bed and walked over the other side to where her three year old son is, hoping to quiet him down before he wakes up his twin brother currently asleep next to him. The twins fell asleep in the big bed and with her missing her husband, she didn't really want to sleep alone so she let the twins stay with her. She noticed her son was sitting up, and crying his heart out. Maine picked up her screaming baby and held him against her chest. She stroked the little boy's light brown hair and kissed his forehead. She noticed Sieg's forehead was hot. She pulled the baby off her chest and looked at his face. His eyes were glossy and his cheeks were flushed.

M: Oh, Sieggy love.. *Sieggy buried his head into her mother's chest, his cries tapering into soft sobs. Maine carried him into the bathroom to get the thermometer*

Sieggy: No, no Mama.. *he whimpers as he tried to squirm away as Maine tried to put the probe in his ear*

M: Mommy's sorry sweetie but I need to take your temperature *as the thermometer beeped, it read 37.8*
Ay, may yayay ang baby ko.. *she frowns*

This was to be expected though. The twins had their vaccinations done earlier today and their pediatrician said this could be one of the after effects of it. And with five kids' worth of experiences and the sixth along the way, under her Mommy belt, this is a no brainer. She picked up her baby again and tiptoed out of the master's bedroom going downstairs to the kitchen to get some medicine, back again in the bedroom and gave him a good wetting down to help keep the fever down, lowered the temp of the airconditioner, put on a patch of kool fever on his forehead and took her sick little boy back into bed with her. Sieggy continued to whimper and squirm. Maine pushed herself up into a slightly sitting position before scooping Sieggy onto her chest. The baby rubbed his head against her mother's chest, before popping his thumb into his mouth. She would usually stop the thumbsucking immediately but with the baby being sick, she let it slide this time as she drifted into a light sleep.
