Time seemed to have stopped as he stood on the porch of the pack house, jaw going slack and eyes round with tears burning the back of his eyes, clouding his vision. He looked around, blood was everywhere, standing the beautiful green grass, bodies lying on the ground lifeless.

A once peaceful and beautiful sunny day was now ruined, the constant whining echoing through Jungkook's ears as he remained frozen on the porch. Over half his pack was scattered along the ground, blood seeping from their bodies and creating pools around them.

He couldn't make out who was who really, their bodies covered in blood and gashes, fur everywhere as patches were missing on most of them. He felt numb as he looked around, not knowing what to do at this point. Everything was a blurred mess, the sound of birds chirping was now muffled background noise.

Tears began to slip from his eyes, rolling down his tan cheeks as he took a step down slowly, his body and limbs heavy. From the corner of his eye, he could make out some of his pack members emerging from the tree line off to the side, some ever coming out of the pack house and gasping at the sight before them.

He wiped the tears on his cheeks with the back of his wrist, sniffling as his feet landed on the ground, eyes scanning over the bodies to see who he could make out. He wasn't surprised to see most of the people he had grown up with are now gone and lifeless in his own front yard.

His heart tugged at the sight of all the people he had known his whole life, more tears threatening to spill from his eyes as a lump grew in his throat. He tried swallowing it down, but he couldn't when his eyes landed on his parents. More tears poured down his cheeks, causing him to hold back a choked sob as he fell to his knees beside them.

The tears clouded his vision, making it harder for him to see them properly, but he couldn't care less right now. He had lost the two most important people to him, and there was nothing he could do about it. He knew from the start something was off when his dad told him to go inside and retrieve his mother, but it didn't occur to him that these would be their last moments together.

He cradled his mom's head on his lap, silently crying as his heart seemed to shatter into a million pieces. He didn't know what to do, and his mind couldn't wrap around what was happening—the fact his parents were now gone. He didn't even notice everyone else who had come out of hiding, finding their loved ones on the ground and crying beside them.

He sniffles and wiped the tears away from his eyes, looking around until his eyes landed on someone else. Another loud gasp fled his lips, carefully lying his mother's head on the ground before he shot up from his knees and ran over to the other body lying on the grass.

He stopped, dropping to his knees again, tears rushing to his eyes and falling onto his lap as he gently cradled his baby brother's head with his hands, leaning down and touching foreheads. He couldn't help the sobs leaving his lips as he held his brother, eyes squeezing shut and tears rolling down his silky cheeks.

This wasn't how things were supposed to end. He wasn't supposed to find his baby brother lying on the ground dead, blood matting his fur and pooling around his body, staining the grass. He was supposed to be alive, just like his parents and everyone else who was no longer with them.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

Sudden warmth was felt on his shoulder, but he couldn't care who it was. He didn't care, because all he wanted was to be left alone so he could grieve, everything was hurting now. But that didn't stop the hand on his shoulder, because the next thing he knows are arms wrapped around his body and pulled against a chest, and a chin resting on his shoulder.

He could make out the faint scent of sandalwood, knowing exactly it was Hoseok hugging him, trying to comfort the crying alpha. Knowing it Hoseok, Jungkook couldn't help but cry a little harder this time, eyes screwed shut and jaw clenching as he sobbed in Hoseok's arms.

"Let it out," Hoseok whispered soothingly, running his hand up and down the boy's arm as he tried his best to comfort him. Jungkook hadn't cried this hard before, and he's never felt this kind of pain either, and he hated it. His heart was breaking piece by piece, the pain feeling like it was lasting forever.

He didn't know what to do at this point. He was sitting on the ground with his best friend hugging him, comforting him, and allowing him to cry until he couldn't any longer. What was he supposed to do? He was lost, and all he could think about was what he could've done to help.

If he could've helped.

"It hurts, Hobi," Jungkook choked out, sniffling as he grabbed ahold of Hoseok's arm, fingers digging into his tanned skin and squeezing it firmly. Hoseok only hummed, nodding his head as he continued to hold the small ravenette.

"I know it does, Kook," He whispered, his heart hurting a little at the sound of the boy's broken voice. He didn't know what to do either, but he knew what it was like to lose someone you loved. He knew how Jungkook was feeling now, and he hated that he was going through something like this. "I need you to calm down for me, okay?"

Jungkook barely nodded as he tried controlling his breathing. He inhaled deeply before letting it out through his mouth, the hiccuping soon coming to a stop, and tears no longer slipping from his red and swollen eyes. His body was still trembling a little though, but Hoseok didn't pay much mind to that since all that mattered was Jungkook was now breathing properly.

"Are you okay now?" He had asked the small boy, although he knew it was a stupid question. Jungkook didn't pay much attention to that, knowing Hoseok was only meaning well and understood what he was trying to ask, causing him to nod his head as a response.

"W-What ha-happened?" Jungkook didn't care that he was stuttering, the images of the fight playing out in his mind as Hoseok took a seat beside him, an arm wrapped around the younger's shoulders and holding him close to his body.

"Midnight Rose." Another voice broke the silence between the pair sitting together, causing them to turn their heads and see Yoongi making his way to them, stepping over bodies so he was by the pair. "We've been enemies with them for a while now, and it's not at all surprising they attacked."

"Who?" Jungkook questioned, blocking the brightly shining sun from his eyes with his hand. Yoongi stepped over so the sun was now on his back and out of the young alpha's eyes, crossing his arms over his chest as Jungkook's hand fell onto his lap.

"Midnight Rose," Yoongi repeated himself, eyes scanning over the empty fields before returning his focus on Jungkook and Hoseok who were sitting on the ground beside one another. He could see the bewildered expression on the alpha's features, causing him to realize he knew nothing about them. "You have no idea who they are, do you?"

"No, I don't," Jungkook answered, shaking his head as well as his brows pulled together a little in confusion. He couldn't recall his parents or anyone mentioning the mysterious pack before, and now he couldn't help but feel a little curious as to who they are. "Who are they?" He asked.

"We've been rivals for decades, Kook," Hoseok said, looking over at the small boy beside him and meeting his gaze. Jungkook slowly nodded as Yoongi took a seat beside Hoseok, eyes scanning over the fields once more with his knees bent and arms around them.

"How come I'm just now hearing about them?" The ravenette asked, looking between Hoseok and Yoongi, who could only shrug as a response. Jungkook couldn't help but wonder if his parents kept them a secret for a reason, not being told about their decades-long rivals.

"Maybe your parents didn't think they would become this big of a problem in the future," Namjoon had suggested, causing the trio to turn and see the omega making his way over to them with a small frown on his plump lips.

"Yeah, but I still should've been told about them," Jungkook mumbled as he wiped his nose with the back of his hand. He could hear hums coming from the others as Namjoon took a seat beside him, the small group of males gazes scanning over the large and empty fields.

Silence surrounded them, the only sounds heard was their faint breathing and the birds chirping in the trees around them, along with cries from everyone who was grieving over losing their loved ones because of the sudden attack that had left everyone shocked and shaken.

"What're we supposed to do now?" Hoseok asked, breaking the silence between them as he looked around for answers. No one said anything, however, only mere shrugs as they say together in the quiet, none of them knowing what to do next.
