~~Third POV~~

It hadn't taken long for the Autobots and Decepticons to return, in fact, they had become overwhelmed by the number of amalgamations Unicron had created. They were mostly unharmed, spare the occasional scratch here an there. However, Optimus found himself sickened at the sight of the Predacon, now awake, having a scan across her mangled wing. Optimus knew that flight was the great pride of Predacons and now she may be unable to do it the same ever again.

Scales' looked worried, her helm swimming with the fear that her Sire had passed by Icarus' hand. This fear was born off of the news that he hadn't been found, although confirmed aboard the ship. They just couldn't get through to where he was without any losses. She took the knowledge easily, however it killed her on the inside.

Most had gone to rest after such a battle, apart from Optimus, Ratchet (Who still tended Scales' wing), Scales and the three humans. Miko sat close to Scales' paw, scraping any rust or dirt off with a scrap of metal. The Predacon wasn't bothered of course, in fact, greeted the distraction. Although Ratchet's increasing look of concern was not something to be ignored. She lifted her head and warbled in curiosity at his concern.

"I'm not an incredible physician, Scales. I don't work with anatomy as much as I should. But I do know a fractured wing when I see one. You are a Marvel of Biology, just trying to work out how to fix you might take some time." However, Scales found herself even more worried than before if possible.

"Can't stay, must find Pred." She replied, her voicebox vibrating in reluctance. As her voice box was not meant for such speech, it pained her to do so. "I know Scales, but if I let you go and you get caught again, they won't have a reason to keep you alive. They will kill you. I can't let you go."

She lowered her head again, defeated. But Ratchet's optic caught her, and she found great sorrow, sympathy and compassion in his optics.

"Try not to strain your voicebox either, you won't be able to speak either language," Miko added, knowing how it pained her to speak so fluently. Megatron caught the human's eye, who gazed from a birth across from where she sat.  "Your voice is beautiful though." She added further. Scales hummed, appreciating the compliment.

"How is it that you are even capable of speech? Are you not incapable of such?" Megatron asked a voice laced with not mockery but curiosity. "I fixed her up a bit. Not enough to form full sentences but it does the trick." The young boy piped up, his voice stuttered and fearful. As Megatron looked at him, he was confused to find that he was smiling nervously, yet friendly. He had almost killed this boy, without a second thought, yet here he was smiling as if it never happened.

And Raf found that Megatron was not glaring at him for the first time. He set an analyzing gaze upon the boy, before turning away with a thoughtful 'hm'.

Optimus listened close-by, amazed in silence by the exchange. Amazed by how... gentle Megatron had been with the boy, Despite Raf being human.

Megatron almost seemed shocked that he hadn't snapped at the boy for answering for the Predacon. When he realised that she could scarcely speak and that the boy kindly answered for her, a flash of emotion struck him. An emotion he had not felt for a long, long time. The curious boy, who snuck around to find out the fate of his planet. The fearful boy, who found conflict a frightening concept. The kind and clever boy, who had fixed Scales without asking anything in return.

Rafael, he had learned, was a considerate child. He forgave quickly, he saw the forgiveness laced in his eyes. And yet, the warlord had almost killed him for being involved with the Autobots.

He then thought of the other humans he had spoken to, finding them to have their own redeeming qualities. Jack, the brave leader. Miko, the loving jester. Even older humans had qualities for themselves. Humans in general, Megatron had found, were not the bugs he had supposed them to be.

Oh yes, Megatron felt guilty.

Perhaps Optimus' chance at peace was not a chance at all?

Ok, I know it's short. And I am so sorry that I havent been here at all to write. But the motivation is slipping and this has all been made up along the way.

I hope ya'll understand?
