And Then They Were Three

R: Somehow all the important things between us all resulted from happy accidents.

M: Serendipity, love. *smiles*

R: *Propping himself up on his elbows, he inches forward to brush his lips over M's tummy. She runs a hand again through his hair and he rolls to the side to rest his head against her torso, looking down at the slight rise of skin.

M: Wag kang dumagan.. *she says, after a few minutes*

R: Nagmo-moment kami ng anak natin, wag mo kaming istorbohin. *he laughs and kisses M's tummy again, rubbing his cheeks on it too*

Then he felt her breath hitched though, and it's then that his words sink in for himself. His baby, her baby - their baby, is growing inside his beautiful Maine, visible right before his eyes. A tiny little boy or girl, nestled up, and becoming human, and it's a mixture of them. And he's seeing evidence of that for the very first time, the tiny little swell of her stomach he swears is right there, hitting him like a freight train and and it's leaving him breathless*

"Oh my God."
RJ sits up straight and veers toward Maine, kissing her with a force unexpected even to him. She gives him the same back and clutches at him desperately and he honestly can't believe any of this is happening right now. That he's happy and in love and is going to be a father and has everything he could possibly want in the world, here in his hands.

It's an incredible feeling.

R: I love you so so so very much Menggay ko, thank you, thank you for this *pulling her up to him, and slips his arms round her and he kisses her, fiercely, wondering why he feels like crying and laughing and screaming all at the same time. When they part he reminds her again that he loves her, and she presses her lips into his with a smile and an affirmative reply.

The thud of the book falling to the floor is what wakes Richard. It makes him jump and sit up and his eyes fly open before he realises the sound is nothing but simply another baby book slash parenting guide he's fallen asleep reading. They're all lengthy words and over-description and despite the knowledge he gains they have an uncanny ability of sending him straight to sleep.

He runs a hand over his face with a groan. A look to the clock tells him it's nearing 3am.

M: RJ, love?

R: *turns to see M, sitting on their bed. Her eyes are half-shut and her hair's mussed and messy and her belly protrudes at a size that reminds him just how close their son is to arriving* Oh hey, uhm.. di ako makatulog kanina. Tapos nakatulog na pala ko. *chuckles*

M: *smiles sleepily and rubs a hand over her belly in circles, something she's done often these past few months*

R: *heads over to her* munchkin woke up too?

M: Yes. Kasalanan mo to.

R: *scoffs and fakes offense but grins, then kisses her and brushes his fingers against her stomach along with her. Their Thirdy is very energetic of late; he's convinced they've got a future footballer or a basketball player in their hands* Malikot? *continues to rub her belly*

M: Yes. And it is extremely uncomfortable.

R:  *he's been hearing that a lot recently* Tinanong ko na si Ms. P, si Terubs din, si Nanay, saka si Lola, sabi nga nila pag kabuwanan na mas malikot na talaga kasi masikip na daw sa loob si baby at nagre-ready na sya lumabas. Hopefully it won't be too long now.

She's supposed to be due in a week and each night builds more and more anticipation. He's been talking so long to their child since the day they found out and knowing him, without actually seeing him, or holding him, his hands are itching as more time passes.
