20 - The Bullets

Lennox POV

We heard the bullet fire from the gun before we saw who pulled the trigger.
We were crouching behind the wall of a store when it was fired.

Hitting Mackenzie.

Embedding itself into her thigh and pushing her back into me.
The force of her fall knocked me over and I slammed my head against the white tiled floor.

For a moment everything went black, darkness consumed me as I heard Mackenzie moaning in pain.

The light came flooding back as I felt arms under my shoulders, pulling me into their chest, it's was a prospect - who's name I'd learnt to be 'Sike' or Sam Nichols to me and you.
He pulled me into him as my eyes focussed on Emily, hidden behind Sam , and Maddox pulling Mackenzie further round the corner and putting his hands over her wound.

"Emily call Erik. NOW." Maddox said desperately as he was trying to stop Mackenzie bleeding.
I felt wetness trickle down the back of my neck before I registered what it was, I must have hit my head hard I thought to myself as I pulled my hand away only for it to be coated in crimson blood.

Emily's hands were shaking too much for her to make the call, so I took her phone from her hands. Luckily she's let me play games on it before and even taught me how to use it if there was an emergency.

Erik was her first contact, all I had to do was press his name and it would ring.

The men with the guns were looking for us, shouting in the distance as we all cowered in a staff corridor.
On the third dial tone he answered.
"Hey baby what's up?" He asked, but once he heard the background noises his tone grew harsh.
"Emily, what's going on!?"

"It's me, it's Lennox. There are people here trying to hurt us." I said cradling the back of my bleeding head. "They hurt Mackenzie and she's bleeding, but we're too far away from the car to get out Erik. Maddox is trying to stop her bleeding and Emily is so scared, my head is bleeding and I don't know what to do Erik. I don't know who these people are but they've hurt people" I said rambling down the phone.

I heard Erik shout to the boys to roll out immediately, and for the prospects to get the medics kit and call their doctor.

"Alright sweetheart we're on our way. Just try to stay calm and quiet. Do you guys have a good hiding spot?"

"I don't know where I'm a staff corridor thingy I don't know what to do Erik." Tears started to fall.

I was getting really sick of crying so much.

"We'll be five minutes tops okay Tiger, tell Emily and the boys that. We're all coming and we are going to rain hell down on the people who have hurt my family. Stay on the phone sweetie okay?"

"Okay Erik" I quietly replied.

The voices were getting closer, I could hear them running.
Sike got up to try and find a way to get out, or a room that we could lock from the inside.
But as soon as he had found one man came scrambling round the corner, guns aimed at us.
Emily squealed as I pushed her behind me, dropping her phone in the process.

Maddox looked up at the men and gulped silently still pressing his hands down on Mackenzie's leg, I think she had passed out from the pain.

"Who sent you? What do you want with us!" Sike shouted at them angrily as he reached behind him to pull his gun slowly from his waistband.
I kept a hold of Emily's arm behind me, and she entwined our hands.

"The horsemen think they're so tough. Look at them boys quaking in their boots. Terrified of us" the man laughed, I could hear Erik shouting down the phone but I couldn't move, frozen in place.
