~Elysia's POV~
As I sat in ESS class, watching the last few minutes of the movie that Mr. Wells had picked out for us, I felt my phone vibrate in the pocket of my pants. However, because I knew that I'd get it taken up if I was texting in the middle of class, I just ignored it. I could always just answer it later.
Apparently, though, the person texting me didn't agree because, before I knew it, my phone was vibrating incessantly against my butt and the bottom of my chair. Luke looked over at me with an annoyed expression on his face. "Can you turn your phone off? Fuck's sake." He said lowly, irritation in his voice. My cheeks heated in embarrassment and I hurried to take my phone out, hiding it beneath the desk as the screen lit up with another text. When I looked, I saw that it was Jaxon, texting me about how bored he was and basically demanding for me to answer him. Wanting to keep it short and simple, I only texted back that I was in Mr. Wells class, knowing he'd understand exactly what I meant by that. Jaxon had Mr. Wells for third period and he knew just how strict his policy was against having your phone out during class, especially if we were supposed to be doing something.
"Sorry." I apologized quietly to Luke, my voice a whisper. He just rolled his eyes and slouched back into his chair as he ignored me, continuing to watch the movie. Not wanting Jaxon to continue to spam me with messages, I turned my phone off completely before I put it back into my pocket.
Luckily, the rest of the class ensued without any more interruptions and, before I knew it, the light was being turned back on. The classroom flooded with light and the bell rang overhead just a moment later, dismissing us to our seventh period classes, which, in my case, was PE class. As Luke got up from his seat and left the class while I gathered my things, I noticed his ring slip off of his finger as he got up.
It rolled beneath my chair as he stalked out of the room, not even noticing that he'd just lost his ring. Feeling a little frantic to get it back out of him, I quickly got out of my chair and picked up the ring, putting it in my pocket so it didn't get lost. I rushed out of the classroom, slinging my backpack on as I went. Although I tried to search through the hallway for him, wanting to return the ring, I couldn't find him. There was too big of a crowd of people, pushing through one another to get to their next class, and it seemed that Luke had managed to get himself out of it. I, on the other hand, had gotten myself stuck in the middle of it.
After maybe two minutes of trying to find his familiar face or that head of dirty blonde curls in the crowd, I gave up. There were only three minutes left for me to get to class before I'd be forced to get a tardy slip, making me even more late, and I didn't want that. So I just adjusted my backpack on my back and carefully slipped my way through the crowd, heading to my PE class.
I had hoped that perhaps I'd find Luke some time between the few minutes between getting to seventh period to eighth, but that wasn't what happened. I'd tried to look for as long as I could, but eventually I just had to give up because I had absolutely no idea where this boy was at. Making sure that the ring was still tucked safely in my pocket, I headed to my eighth period, silently glad that I had decided to wear pants today and not a skirt or else I wouldn't be able to be sure I wouldn't lose his ring in my backpack.
Today I had worn a black pair of pants that were a little loose around my ankles and a black bralette that had large flowers around the bottom of it, in colors of red, yellow, and orange. My heels were black and had pretty flowers on the heels that matched the ones on my bralette pretty well. For my hair, I had tied it up into a half-up ponytail, leaving some of my curled hair down. Then, I'd taken a black bandana that had red and orange patterened on it in little splatters and I wrapped it so that it went under the part of my hair that was down, keeping any of my baby hairs back at the front of my face.
