2. Perform in musicals/plays.
3. Help backstage at musicals/plays.
4. Watch musicals/plays
5. All of the above.
This is not shade against any modern musical. I love Heathers, Dear Evan Hansen, and etc. This is just a joke about how they seem to have the same plot format.
How to make a modern musical: 1. Nerdy teenage character that's desperate to become popular and/or be noticed by their crush.
2. Make the color blue a major part of their clothing.
3. Protagonist sings something about how high school is hell.
4. Protagonist makes a huge mistake, and has to learn from it. (Rather that mistake is ditching your friend, lying about being friends with a dead dude, or murder is up to you.)
5. Give the protagonist one major defining trait so it's less obvious that they have the same archetype as Veronica, Evan, and Jeremy.
6. Have a very crazy fandom.
